We got bad service of pretty uninterested personal. The food was OK but not more than that. Lacked taste and appearance. One of us found a metal paperclip in the food and complained and showed it to the waiter without any reaction. A restaurant with any service had done anything to compensate for this but not this one. We can not recommend this restaurant.

one of those we are losing, in an amazing neighborhood, worth a visit and a good "aperitif". Enjoy listening political discussions on the table next to yours, and don't be afraid to participate, that's how it works!

The interior looks as if nothing had been changed in the last 30 years. The entree (sardines and tomato) and the mixed salad were nothing to write home about, but the bife de lomo was perfect. Very juicy, tender, lean, tasty and probably about 400 g. A really big steak. A small bottle of Malbec (187 ml), a bottle of water, an entree, bread and olive-paste, a mixed salad and the big steak ran to a total of 170 pesos (without tip), that's currently about 21 USD. Certainly nothing to complain about! The waiter was competent, solid, reasonably attentive and friendly enough. I have tried about 10 restaurants in that area and that was so far the best steak - comparable to steaks 2 or 3 times the cost in fancier restaurants of BA. It won't be my last visit, except next time I'll skip the entree and go right for the steak.
Apparenty they are also big on seafood but I haven't tried that.

This is a wonderful, traditional parilla in San Telmo. Definitely check it out if you are in the neighborhood. It's what we would call "old school" in the United States: unpretentious, excellent value. I had the bife de lomo, which was among the best steaks I've eaten, and at a quarter of the cost of a comparable dish in the U.S. Also, the dessert pancakes looked delicious, but we were too stuffed to try!

After three weeks in Buenos Aires I was ready to right off all restaurants in this city but we finally found a place that produces flavorful food. We stopped for lunch at Lezama on our way to the San Telmo Market and loved it! We shared the matambre appetizer and the Salmon Rosada for our meal. We were barely able to finish this shared meal and had no room for dessert. The salmon was cooked to perfection. We will definitely make a point to return to Lezama on our return trip.
