I went several times to Sorrento in Puerto Madero and have never been disappointed. The location along the canal just in front of the yacht club is fabulous. Just enjoy the view on the contemporary buildings and the refreshing breeze of the Rio, particularly on warm days. As this part of Puerto Madero is located just in front of the center of the city, you can even go there by bus, which is not common for Puerto Madero. We took the 140 from Palermo and it took us 35' to get there very easily (on a Sunday). The food, especially the mariscos, is excellent and abundant, the service is nice. Sorrento is one of the few places in Buenos Aires where you can eat good fish. I recommend.

After walking the esplanade of Puerto Madere we decided to have lunch here and werent disappointed.
A very comfortable dining room with a nice atmosphere and attentive service.
Food was flavoursome, of good quality, tempting variety and generous helpings.
A nice change from the meals we had been eating here this week.

We had a cab drop us off at Puerto Madero and then walked around til we found a restaurant which struck our fancy. There were so many to choose from, and we settled on Sorrento almost by chance. We were not disappointed by our choice, though. A classic high-class, white-tablecloth dining experience. Although Sorrento is an Italian restaurant, I had what was without a doubt the best grilled steak I had during the entire week we were in Buenos Aires (it was even better quality and better prepared than a steak I had a tradition parrilla a couple of nights earlier). My wife had an entree of langostinos that filled the plate and hung off both sides. The other couple we were with both had filet mignon in cabernet sauce. All dishes were excellent. Even throwing in a couple of bottles of wine, we paid a shockingly low price for an evening of refined dining.

The food at this restaurant was great. We especially loved the garlic shrimp and the black grouper dishes. Carlos, our waiter, serves impeccably and with quite the extra flourish. He even brought us a glass of champagne on the house when he found out that we were travelling in BA for my birthday.

I recommend eating fish and seafood or pasta. Elegant, polite attention but quite expensive, at least for Buenos Aires citizens.
