“Best chorizo steak while in Buenos Aires”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We had a cab drop us off at Puerto Madero and then walked around til we found a restaurant which struck our fancy. There were so many to choose from, and we settled on Sorrento almost by chance. We were not disappointed by our choice, though. A classic high-class, white-tablecloth dining experience. Although Sorrento is an Italian restaurant, I had what was without a doubt the best grilled steak I had during the entire week we were in Buenos Aires (it was even better quality and better prepared than a steak I had a tradition parrilla a couple of nights earlier). My wife had an entree of langostinos that filled the plate and hung off both sides. The other couple we were with both had filet mignon in cabernet sauce. All dishes were excellent. Even throwing in a couple of bottles of wine, we paid a shockingly low price for an evening of refined dining.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

The food at this restaurant was great. We especially loved the garlic shrimp and the black grouper dishes. Carlos, our waiter, serves impeccably and with quite the extra flourish. He even brought us a glass of champagne on the house when he found out that we were travelling in BA for my birthday.

“Delicious Italian and Mediterranean food”

I recommend eating fish and seafood or pasta. Elegant, polite attention but quite expensive, at least for Buenos Aires citizens.

“Very Good restaurants (there are 3)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

There are actually 3 Sorrento restaurants: The original and the best in my opinion in Corrientes Av , I believe it is over 100
years old, one in Puerto Madero and one in Recoleta, under the Recova . Very well known for its good pasta dishes and
fish and seafoods , prepared in different Italian forms. Very popular with locals, so it guarantees good food.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

The food was Ok nothing great, the service was ok and the decor was ok. It is an ok restaurant to go if you are passing by but i would definitively not plan to go there specially having so many great options around.
