Nice basic clean room, basic breakfast of breads, ham, cheese fruit, cereal, yogurt. Staff will arrange transport, laundry. This totally suited our needs at a good price.
San Telmo is a charming area with access to all sorts of restaurants museums sights...great if you are willing to walk.

It's right in the middle of the old barrio of San Telmo. The hotel building is in better condition compared to other buildings around. Close to all the attractions in San Telmo, bus stops, and the Indepencia metro station. There were several warnings on blogs about walking in this area at night but I didn't come across any problems. There's a small corner store at Estados Unidos and Peru st. if you need to buy anything for your stay.

Breakfast is nothing special. Toast, pastries, cake, juice, and coffee. From 7 to 10. Show up early if you want to try the pastries and cake. Rooms are a bit old with mold on the walls. I had to call the reception on 2 instances to get the hot water working in the bathroom. In all the other times, I had to keep the shower running for several minutes to get hot water. There was construction going on in the adjacent building and they were drilling the wall in my room multiple times during the day very very loudly.

I think the place is pricey, given the conditions.

Room Tip: Check if the hot water is working in the room.

Basic hotel but very clean and bright. CLose to lots of bars and restaurants. Staff very helpful. Kindly allowed us to keep room for a few hours on last day before our pick up. More than reasonable breakfast.

Room Tip: Best at back as it is quitee.

For US$56 (cash) we had a very nice room with attached bathroom facing a courtyard. The breakfast buffet is more extensive than one usually finds in Argentina. The reception staff were helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel is a short walk from the Independecia subway stop. I don't think you can find as good a hotel for this price in Buenos Aires.

Room Tip: Rooms 109, 110,209, and 210 are quiet rooms facing the garden in the back.

We booked here for two nights between Christmas and New Year before our flight home to the UK. The hotel is in a great location, and our nightly rate for our visit was very low. Avenue Peru will take you straight to all the important sights of central Buenos Aires and the San Telmo district it is situated in is well worth visiting. There are lots of kiosks and mini-marts around, so popping out for some water, wine, shampoo etc is really easy. The hotel actually calls itself a Boutique hotel, and so I was hopefully expecting something fabulous or quirky about the place, perhaps a huge bed with over the top linens, magnificent window treatments, or lots of eccentric types being eccentric in the communal areas. Boutique - unfortunately - it is not. It is basic, clean and basically comfortable, a step up from a motel or hostel. Our room was quite small, with a small but comfortable double bed. Free WiFi in the room came and went at random, it was either very good or non existent. The air conditioning brought the room down to a cool 16 degrees for us, for which we were very grateful as Buenos Aires was melting in blazing heat at the time. Everything in the room was basic and a little tired, from the plastic black out screen on the window instead of a curtain to the aged cheap wooden freestanding wardrobe with a few perfunctory unmatching black plastic hangers. There was a very small desk and one chair, and it would have been a real challenge to work there with a laptop. The ensuite, carved out of the room, was too small really to be comfortable, and with an inward opening door to the room, and an outward opening glass door to the shower, it made for interesting ergonomic choices during daily ablutions. Nevertheless there was plenty hot water at all times, and it had a hairdryer on the wall too. The shower itself had no shelf or storage area, so you have to be quite tall to make sure you can store stuff well above head height on the nearest ledge. The staff at reception were a very mixed bunch, and there was very evident tension between some of them. In the morning we had an efficient but officious and rather pompous and impersonal chap who we took an instant dislike to. In the afternoon there was a lovely open and friendly guy who was happy to talk at length and give us ideas and directions. When we remarked to him how much we liked him in contrast to the others, he said that there were ongoing problems with some of the staff, and that he would be moving on in a few days. Shame!
For some reason we did not get maid service during the day, and the urgent laundry bag we were told to leave in our room was still there waiting for us in the evening when we got back. I had to nip across the road and get some laundry detergent and wash out our clothes for the long journey home by hand.
Breakfast was good by Argentinian standards. There was the usual plastic cheese and ham with the not quite nice croissants that you get everywhere in Argentina. However the fresh fruit salad was amazing, and there were lots of nice pastries and treats to be had. We sat inside, but there is a little (and I mean little) garden to the back where it would have been possible to sit - but beware for the smokers - there is nowhere to get away from them.
With a little love and attention to detail this could easily become a go-to destination for Buenos Aires. At the moment it is a clean and cheap option for a non demanding stop over en route to somewhere else. Would I stay again? Probably, but I'd have a long look at the available competition first.
