“Hill View Gardens, Yalikavak”
Reviewed September 1, 2010

We have just returned from a great holiday at the Hill View Gardens just outside Yalikavak. The complex is great for families, clean and tidy and secure, but it's a good 8km into town. You will certainly need to rent a vehicle whilst staying here or just accept around £30 a day in taxi fares. There's an onsite shop (very, very limited), and a fairly good cafe/restaurant. Overall, a good relaxing place to unwind so long as you don't want to be near the town.

The town itself is really lovely, the people are very friendly and there's a lot to see and do. The beaches are clean and tidy and nearly all of them are tied to a cafe/bar, so long as you drink there and eat, there are free sun loungers and service (fair enough!). We used the Mercan restaurant/beach most of the time, what a great time we had, they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

Overall, a good family holiday so long as you take these comments on board.

“Wonderful, Tranquility”
Reviewed October 11, 2009

My first trip to Yali was summer 2008...Went for 2 weeks with a friend, came home and 3 weeks later, back we went for another week. "A little piece of heaven" is the best way to describe it. We totally fell in love with it. Whether its a quiet holiday you want or plenty of late nights...take your pick!. You will never get through all the restaurants..I have stayed in Yali this summer for 7 weeks and am heading again in 2 weeks...Still havent managed to fit all restaurants in. The favourite one is Kosheda (might be spelt wrong!)...food is fab but get in before it gets busy or you could be waiting a while...But worth the wait too! Mercan is great...lovely relaxed atmosphere. The small local Turkish rests are great too...tasty food and great prices...On the nightlife front, there is a shortage of bars...but you can manage quite well with what is there!! Just a great spot folks!!!

“Yali on the Aegean coast.”
Reviewed August 20, 2009

What a beautiful town and such a difference to Bodrum/Gumbet.

Yali is quiet, beautiful, friendly and easy to walk through.
Some lovely beaches (pebbles rather than sandy).
Great restaurants (Our Secret Garden, Kosede)
Fantastic people - always wishing to help tourists.

Sunsets are to die for
And as for the temp - just left in early August at 45 degrees - but comfortable with the sea breeze.

Can't wait to next year!

“a place of tranquility”
Reviewed June 3, 2007

We have been to Yalikavak 7 times now, at the start of the season and at the height of the season and we just love the place more and more. This is a place for people who want to get away from night clubs, football shirts and irish bars. This is not a place for groups of youngsters looking for a wild time but for those who want a haven. No, it is not just for the elderly, there are a lot of British people who just want to see a friendly smiling face at every shop and eating place, a place on the beach without the sound of thumping music and to be able to walk along looking at the shops without being dragged inside and bullied into buying something that you dont really want.
We will be there again in July and the weeks cannot go by quick enough for us to be there again. If you are looking for party time in the sun with wild nights and loud music, may I suggest Marmaris or Gumbet, if you want a proper restful holiday, then Yalikavak is the place.

“Just Married back to yali”
Reviewed September 20, 2005

Yes! married back in old Blighty,on the 3rd sept.Returned to Yalikavak on the 5th after having a great time here in July we just had to come back,We had invited a lot of people from Yali, to the wedding in the UK but no one could make it both Brits and Turkish alike.so it was decided to have another Wedding Turkish style for all our friends. Musti's Steak House was the venue, it was absolutely packed with all nationalities joining in the festivities. Everyone we spoke to said they had fallen in love with Yalikavak and would return in the future, one comment received said it was the Jewel of the Bodrum perninsular. We have stayed in a good number of hotels in Yali and they are all great so we can vouch for your other reviewists they are telling the truth. One that has not being mentioned is the Windmill hotel near the sea front, my sister and her family stayed there and said the rooms were clean and the staff were great allways there when needed.also Ali's family restaurant , typical traditional Turkish meals served here again cant do enough for you. Carrott soup and a good old Mushroom fillet steak then you have to visit Musti's Steak house, in my opinion the best on the bodrum Perninsular, hosted by Musti and Brenda from Ireland the service is second to none! the waiters are very friendly and well mannered. Hassling is a bad word in Yali its not permitted you just go eat or drink where you want without someone trying to drag you in like some other resorts.
