After trying numerous cafe's and restaurants in Yalikavak, many recommended by TA, we found this little cafe on the way to the Thursday market just opposite the statue of Ataturk on a new square and are we glad we did!.
We looked at all the food on display without really knowing what it was but the owner came over and explained in good English what each was.
The first meal we had there was fantastic much to my surprise as it contained a lot of aubergines and I thought I did not like them!!
We dined in there about 5 or 6 times having a different meal each time and all were superb.
Each course came with enough bread to sink a battleship and free tea or coffee if wanted.
One strange thing was that the owner told me not to tip him so much at 10%!! He said a little and often was best.
The place was spotless too with everything cooked before you and kept hot in baine maries.
Prices were very good and a lot less than the more touristy places.
A good sign was all the locals ate there too!
Just writing this is making me drool!
