The four reasons behind the title name are as follows: serenity, design, quality, attitude.
Well, the place definitely was serene. I loved the pool area which had a little bit for everyone (sun, shade, loungers, sofas...). The pool is a centrepiece to the public / common (for lack of better word) area with sun loungers, bistro and bar all located around it. True, some days there were screaming kids and the area was pretty crowded over the weekend, but overall, this really was an excellent relaxation area. Since it is set in a hill, the views over the village towards the sea were quite stunning.
Design. Yes, there was plenty of design, perhaps too much of it. The room (Functional) particularly felt really quite over designed... the room was on the small side yet there was a large but sadly utterly useless wardrobe, the lamps were awkward and took most of the bedside table space, there was a profound lack of surface on which to place things... Having said that, the overall look of the place was fine and fitted perfectly. And the balcony was stunning!
Quality. All the staff around the pool and in the bistro were very friendly, attentive and the overall feel of the service was excellent... even though the promised drink sometimes never arrived (waitress couldn't understand but was too shy to admit it!) but they really did try. Quality of food was ok although we had better down by the beach in Magi Beach. The pool was great, sun loungers super comfy etc.
The one reason missing though was definitely attitude on the managerial level. The first night of our stay, I asked the reception to book a restaurant (recommended by a local) for us. They seemed really disapproving of our choice. They didn't explain much about their reasons but appeared really offended when I insisted in this restaurant (which turned out to be great if a little overpriced). And it just went downhill from there... they were very economical on information and sometimes even rude. By the end of the week, I started feeling really uncomfortable whenever I spotted the manager around. Attitude was definitely present but not the good kind.
I still rate Four Reasons as very good and if the attitude improved, I would definitely recommend to friends!
