The Greenland is a small, friendly hotel where everyone gets to know each other (guests and staff). It has a very scenic setting with a backdrop of mountains but it is a few kilometres from the beach at Oludeniz although local buses run every few minutes, are easy to use and are ridiculously cheap! We booked a standard room which was surprisingly small but adequate because let's be honest you don't go on holiday to sit in your hotel room all day. However we did have one problem. it was obvious that the room had been refurbished and someone decided that a kingsize double bed would be a good feature. Unfortunately the room was not big enough for this and the side I slept on could only be reached by crawling across the bed as I could not get round it. My wife was suitably unimpressed when I had to keep clambering over her during the night to use the loo! The hotel only has the one restaurant which was adequate and although the food was well cooked and presented to put it bluntly was uninteresting and repetitive. The selection of drinks (alcohol) at the bars was very limited unless you were prepared to pay extra for imported brands. The entertainment in the evenings was what one would expect, certainly nothing to get you out of your seatfor! My overall opinion was that I have stayed at better 3* hotels in other locations around the world. Is it value for money? Yes, if you book it yourself through someone like Travel Republic and avoid the package holiday companies who are apparently making a huge profit from this type of hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite when you book your holiday

Wasps every where, food basic Turkish staff helpful and friendlily coffee from the machines disgusting undrinkable, rooms small and basic we had 2 days of disruption due to the electric generator fail, and also the hot water fail due to a problem with plumbing they did try to resolve this to the best of the ability, plenty of chickens running around dog and loads of cats join you at meal times! a good base to discover the area plenty transport out side the hotel we have been to this area of Turkey many of times we would not return to this hotel.

This is my fourth time at the Greenland and have just returned from another brilliant week. I can only be positive about everything at this hotel and take in to account the fact I only paid just over £400 per person for a week's all inclusive (the cost includes flights, accomodation and transfers). Booked through Travel Republic and flying from Gatwick. This is a value for money hotel which is exceptional for the cost. I will be returning next year.

Ventured out on a boat trip (Jerryboat) from Fethiye for the day. Booked direct while out there and it was faultless. The cost was £15 per person and included a freshly cooked BBQ lunch and pick up drop off. Recommend this trip.

Have just returned from a week at the above hotel. I booked with Thomas Cook who advertise it in their brochure as a 4* hotel. For anyone who stays regularly in good 4* accommodation this is only 3* at best. We had booked a standard room but when we walked in it was so tiny with just the two single beds and a shower, dark and looking onto a wall. We went and upgraded at reception who charged us £25 per night. This room was big enough to have a small table and chairs together with a bathroom which had a bath with a shower. The room was no more than what would have been expected in a 'proper' 4* hotel. The surrounding areas in the hotel were kept clean as were the rooms. The food was edible but the desserts were the same every day. The evening entertainment, as all the guests who attended, agreed, was pathetic. Definately a new animation team needs to be found for 2014 and entertainers bought in. Unfortunately we were plagued by wasps around the pool area so could not have a relaxing time sitting on the sunbeds as we had to fight them off all day every day. Guests were woken up every day by the priest calling everyone to prayer at 6'oclock from the mosque nearby followed by the cockrels crowing which roamed around the grounds. I have stayed in the same area, at the same time, but a different hotel, which was good. I do know that the hotel was winding down as it was near the end of the season but their guests should be entitled to the same standards whether it is the height or near the end of the season. I feel I am unable to recommend or return to this hotel in the future unless things improve dramatically, but I shall be returning to Turkey..

Room Tip: Always upgrade to a deluxe room overlooking the 'quiet pool'.

have been staying in the area since '93 but this is the first time in this hotel , in a different location this would be 5*, the food is really good and varied, coffee is only available at breakfast but you can get it at the pool bar for lunch and dinner along with beer , wine in bottle's is available in the restaurant at lunch and dinner. Turkish bread and gateau's are a class act .pool towels can be changed every day, shampoo -soap - shower gel are available when you arrive when they are gone you will have to use your own, don't forget a travel plug as muslims wash in running water, there is a hill to the hotel its not steep but its about 3-400 yds up hill. if you venture into fethiye I recommend eating in the fish - fruit/veg market which is open every day it is found in old town , they will cook any fish- prawn's etc bought for 6 lira = £2 . the hotel will take and bring you back to a beach which is ok but the beach is wall to wall sunbeds which you have to pay 7.5 lira, a better beach is the heritage blue lagoon which is vast, you have to pay 6tl to use it and 7 tl for the sunbeds. try them both to see which is best. there are many boat trips in fethiye I have found the grand baris to be of the best this year they have a 2nd boat the grand barack which is a sailing boat they will pick and bring you home from your hotel with lunch on the baris it is £12 the barack is £18 the cruise starts at 10:30 and returns to the marina at 18:30 .they do have a problem with wasps there must be a nest in the complex so if the management called an exterminator or one of the local bee keepers from the pine forest in problem solved.

We stayed at this hotel for a week due to budget constraints this year and found the scenery pleasant and the staff polite. The amenities were basic and the food was average, the atmosphere however left little to be desired, the music around the pool was much too loud and you couldn't have a normal conversation without the need to shout. There are also some doubts over hygiene as we didn't see the pool being cleaned once. We didn't get to attend the childrens disco because it was held incredibly late which seems absurd. Needles to say we were totally out of place so would not visit the area or hotel again.

Thanks again to all the staff at Greenland for a great 2 weeks. Reception staff are always helpful no matter what the problem is, and whatever time day or night. The rooms are all that you need for your holiday, large beds which can easily be pushed together and a nice size bathroom. The cleaning staff are exemplary even if some one is having a "lie-in" they wait until you are up, then they clean the room.
The food is varied and always hot( something which has been a problem in other resorts ) and there is always something to make a meal no matter how fussy the eater. Dining room staff are great.
The late season entertainment is low-key and DJ works hard day and night to keep things going
Bar staff seem to work all hours and are very good at remembering your drinks, too many to name but they work their socks off, as do all the staff.
While we were there there was a massive storm that knocked out the power to the whole region, and consequently a power surge damaged the emergency generator, the generator was replaced next morning, and staff were in at 0500 hrs to try to deal with the problems caused by the power issues,
As a gesture of compensation we were told that the all-inclusive bars would be extended by 3 hours for the remainder of the week and ALL guests would be given a complimentary late check-out ( I feel that this gesture was generous as the weather is nobody's fault, and quite unnecessary )
Thanks again to all at Greenland and see you next year
