“Beautiful hotel, small room”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We are part way through our stay at the Morina Deluxe hotel. As other reviewers have said, the hotel has been completely revamped and is beautiful. Quality of grounds, reception, pool area and bar are high, and the grounds have mood lighting which is beautiful. Great views from the front of the hotel over the sea and mountains. It is a 10 minute walk from town and the last few hundred metres is quite steep but even us unfit 50+ year olds have been managing it. The pool area is good, plenty of sun all day and great comfy mattresses. Bar is good value for food and drink.

My only disappointment with the hotel is our room. We booked a Superior room, wasn't cheap, but have found out this is their basic room. Twin beds and an armchair means that we are tripping over each other unless one of us is lying down. We enter through the terrace, navigate the armchair which is directly in front of the opening door, fall over the curtains, which are far too long and not wide enough, all very irritating. There is a complicated arrangement of roller blind, net curtains and curtains which doesn't keep the light out but makes it difficult to get in and out. Being a terrace room we are also worried about people being able to see in. Not sure if all superior rooms are this small.

Usual comments about hot and cold water being the wrong way round (shower and sink different) and the red / green light system for cleaning.

A lovely hotel, but I'd have expected a better room for the money.

Room Tip: Avoid superior rooms, pay more for upgrade

Just returned from a second visit in 2 years to the morina the hotel it was good last year but after a lot of money spent over the winter to improve it and what an improvement if you want a relaxing holiday I can not recomend this hotel enough. We enjoyed so much last year that friends came with us this year and cant wait to go back. The staff are amazing very friendly and very funny a big big thank you for another amazing and relaxing stay. There was an improved menue this year and the hotel now has a rooftop restaurant with good views over the resort. The staff realy can't do enough for you and the mini bar in the rooms can be a godsent in that heat and unlike most hotels in the resort there are no hidden costs for aircon.

Again a big big thank you from the the 2 couples who made our own little corner of Wales beside your pool for 12 days now back home and depressed I am already looking to book to come back next year see you soon

Room Tip: They all a good standard

Our family stayed at this hotel from 21st August to 1st September 2013. This was our first time at this hotel but second time to Olu Deniz. We found the hotel in a peaceful setting with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are accommodating and very helpful and friendly. The walk up the hill provided a bit of exercise to burn some holiday calories, but agree could cause problems for people with walking difficulties. We stayed B&B which gave flexibility in the evening to venture out for an evening meal. We enjoyed a Turkish Night at the hotel which included dancing and a fire show. This hotel is in an excellent location if you want to be sererated from the busy centre. We were all sad lo leave and cant wait to go back!!!

Room Tip: We had a Family Room, which consisted of two bedrooms with seperate shower/wc. An excellent choic...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon from 21st August till 1st September and we did not want to go home. This place is absolute heaven and should surely be a 5 star hotel. As the hotel is set back a little distance from the main town you get all the benefits of a peaceful nights sleep. Many of the other hotels are very noisy and id have hated to have stayed there because of that so The Morina was perfect for us.
The grounds and pool are well maintained, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the cleaners work extremely hard and always leave the room spotless. We were in room 304 which had a beautiful view of the sea. The room is an ample size as is the balcony, the shower is amazing, in fact there are two showers in the cubicle. A power shower and a rain forrest shower. There is ample space to store everything and also the bonus of a kettle.
I could rave all day about this fabulous hotel as it really is perfect. It is family run and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. It is close to a mosque and the call to prayer sounds 3 times a day but only for a few minutes, both myself and my husband quite liked it. The call to prayer does sound at 5am and so does the Hotels cockerel but im a very light sleeper, it never bothered my husband as the double glazing is more than adequate. The food is lovely and cheaper than most of the restaurants and the drinks are also a good competitive price.
Hopefully we will be able to go back next year as we have fallen in love with Oludeniz and the Hotel's dog, Coffee :-)
Ask for a top floor seaview room, you won't be disappointed and book direct to the hotel as Korhan will do you a brilliant deal.
Tips.. Visit Buzz bar as the food is gorgeous, its a little more expensive than other places but worth it. The Magic Kingdom bar is good fun, "Bobby" will have you entertained. Fethya market is on on a Tuesday and worth a visit for your "cheap crap" as the Turks were yelling from their market stalls lol. The 6 Island boat trip and the mud baths and Turtle beach are good, and have a Turkish bath the first day you get there as it helps you tan :-)

Location: the hotel is in walking distance (10-15 mins) to the beach, small shops and restaurants, although the return ("climbing" the way back) may be a little to much for elder people or if the weather gets excessively hot. Anyway, the location is very good, exceeded only by locations closer to the beach (which probably are more expensive though). Bear in mind that if you goal is to reach the Blue Lagoon that it takes around a 30 minutes walk to get there. As a point of reference, it´s almost in front off a mosque, but this was not a problem when it comes to noise and sleep quality.

The rooms are big and clean, although the pictures in the sites (tripadvisor, hotel site, etc...) are a little bit fancier than the rooms itselves. It has a minibar, air conditioner and a big bed, although the pillows ressemble like rocks. My main complain about my room was the shower box, that wasn´t fully closed and it was very hard to take a proper shower without flooding the entire bathroom (very annoying, believe).

Wifi wasn´t available in our rooms, although it was in the public areas, and it was free of cost.

One point that adds a lot of value to the hotel is the restaurant, Alacarte. Alacarte has a very nice selection of meals (international and turkish) and the food was good, tasty and plentiful. We ate there our night meals and it didn´t disappoint (I suggest the Diana Steak, delicious...). The breakfast, served in the same spot is just average though, ok but not exciting (subpar in comparison to the lunch and dinner meals). Also worth of notice that the staff at the restaurant is very joyful and caring.

As you might have seen in the pictures, the hotel also offers a nice pool, lots of sunbeds and a billiard table, which are fine options in case you just want to stay at the hotel, with nothing to worry about.

Finally, one matter that really annoyed us was the fact of constantly not having anyone speaking English at the reception, making proper communication hard and degrading the experience as a whole. To exemplify, two or three times we caught ourselves in need of help (we needed to book an airport transfer and we wanted to do some paragliding) and the lady at reception only spoke Turkish and couldn´t even understand and communicate when someone who could help us would arrive).

Overall, a good hotel, a few details (like the ones mentioned in the review) short of being excellent.

As many others who have wrote reviews this is also my 2nd time here and what a change!! All for the better of course. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for I nice relaxing holiday and want a stress free holiday. Nothing is to much for the staff here who are all friendly and best part about it is they remember who you are if you go multiple time even better and adds to the experience. As for the appearance off the hotel well what can a say, a massive change from last year even better!!!! Rooms are beautiful and bar area looks awesome!!! My girlfriend and I are already looking forward to go back in 2 years time and hope to see some other faces out there you know who you are.
