Mavruka Hotel
Ranked #69 of 121 Hotels in Oludeniz
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Me & my boyfriend stayed at the Mavruka for 2 week from 1st July. We arrived about 4:30am turkish time to a beautiful looking hotel and helpful reception staff who took our cases to our room.

First of all i have noticed a few people who are commenting about Rammi (who they seem to think is the boss and hes not) yes he has a dry sense of humor but after a few days he spoke fine with us had a good laugh played pool with us etc, people need to remember that the staff are working and very long hours may i add, so if somebody isnt full of excitement every hour of the day i dont think he or the hotel deserves a bad review.

Mehmet(bar manager) & Angela (english girlfriend) LOVELY!! we got on so well with them and if you need to know anything Mehmet is the man! Also want to thank mehmet for taking care of me organising the ambulance for when i was rushed to hosptial. We are keeping in contact with mehmet and going to return to turkey next year to wherever he is based.

Eating Out - (our favs but more than enough to choose from)
Mimoza - (walking down from hotel on to the main strip straight in front) AMAZING i think we ate here at least once everyday! best kebabs, wraps, big portions, cheap and friendly staff who dont hassle you.
Captin Hooks - (accross from mimoza) Again friendly staff, nice varied menu & fairly cheap.
The Hang Out - ( beachfront, left hand side, upstairs) Open balcony with amazing views, yummy food too !

Shops -
Glass man (just down from mavruka) - Makes glass figures so friendly and he makes amazing figures, if you ask he will make whatever you want.
Genuine Fake Factory - 2 shops one with bags purses etc and the clothing shop is further up.
Next Boutique
Harrools

Good to Know points -
1. If you wish to use the fridge and safe in your room you have to pay. We didnt bother with a fridge as we didnt spend much time in our room and anytime we wanted cold drinks we would just buy them from hotel. The safe for 2 weeks was really cheap.
2. We didnt know how the whole BB service worked as we have only ever gone All Inc. first day i must of looked really stupid standing with my money at the bar! when they just take your room number and verything is charged on tab to your room ( keep reciepts if you wish to keep track. You can pay your bill whenever you wish at reception)
3. We had room 413 block 4 (pool view balcony), which we experienced some loud music from the neighbouring hotel, we got used to it after a few days but Mehmet had said if we wanted a move just to ask reception.
4. You cant take food in from shops outwith the hotel.
5. Buy misquito cream/spray.
6. If i had one bad point about the mavruka it would just be the selection of food at breakfast time. We stayed BB, we only tried breakfast 2 times which we didnt find very pleasant but i suppose it depends on what you like to eat at that time in the morning and also i think it is more of a turkish style breakfast afterall we are in turkey! Im one for trying different kinds of food and dont demand a UK breakfast but this is the only part that i struggled with. Anyone that feels the same you can go on to the strip and get other styled brekkys for cheap!! OR the hotel has a set menu which is good.

THURSDAY TURKISH NIGHT (at hotel) - we enjoyed it so i would reccomend it!

Evening Bar (front of hotel) - Angela & Mehmet will be based here also in the evenings, tv & music.

Salon/Hairdresser (front of hotel) - Cant remember the names of the husband and wife who manage this part but they were lovely spoke everyday.

Please dont listen to bad reviews go and check it out, not everyone likes the same things. I think most of the negative reviews are about the food but the location of the hotel is right off the strip so there is plenty of places to eat.

Overall i would rate our stay at mavruka 9/10 and we would return again but on no board basis, hotel only as we didnt enjoy the breakfast. Also if mehmet and angela were still working there as we got on really well with them.

Apologies for a fairly long review - if you have any questions please message me and i will do my best to help

Room Tip: we asked for a pool view when we booked, which we got but i think theres a quiet pool view side and...

If you are looking for a clean, value for money hotel in Olu Deniz then look no further. We stayed at the Mavruka in July 2013 and could not fault it. We were bed and breakfast but had lunch there a couple of times as well. This hotel is so clean and Mehmet and Angela are lovely. Thanks for a great holiday guys.

Room Tip: We had room 407, close to pool and lovely and cool. Air conditioning is included but we didn't...

Just come back from ten days staying at this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised. Hotel is spotless in all area's, our room wasn't massive but it wasn't small either. Maid service everyday including all towels changed. Pool was lovely and the staff work extremely hard and are very pleasant considering they understand very little english. Mehmet is a mind of information so if you want to know about where to go and what to see have a chat with him first. Close enough to all amenities without being too close to any noise from the bars which turn their music down at 12 O'clock we had no trouble sleeping. BBQ night was good fun and would recommend to anyone staying. Surprised this is not ranked higher spoke to several people who were returning for the second, third, fourth time. If I had one little remark to make no kettle in the room was a pain but this seems to be the way hotels are working now all over the world.

We are currently staying in this hotel for 2 weeks and really feel we need to comment after reading the recent reviews. This hotel is in the perfect location and the cleanliness is second to none. ALL the staff are absolutely fantastic ( bar staff are brilliant). There's a new chef now so don't pay too much attention to previous reviews about the food. We have found it fine so far. Plus the variety of the restaurants on the doorstep of this hotel is fantastic. We booked after reading these reviews and have not been disapointed

I shall begin with the good points:

1) Cleanliness: The hotel was cleaned to a high standard and the housemaids were lovely. Often they decorated the bed with flowers and origami-styled towels. The pool was Crystal clear and cleaned twice a day, but there were a number of cases of ear infections among the guests (including my partner, myself and my daughter).
2) Hotel: beautiful hotel, with polished stone floors (though be careful wearing flipflops as it cam be very slippery, especially by the pool). All the fittings/furnishings are to a high standard and the ensuite was lovely. The pool was nice and includes a separate babypool. There are also a couple of shaded seating booths with upholstered seating and low rise tables, ideal for relaxing with a drink and a book. Good location, as it's near to the infamous Blue Lagoon and it is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Expect to see the sky full of paragliders! But it is also close to the strip, meaning it can get noisy in the evenings.
3) Staff: Most of the staff were very friendly and were very good at entertaining our toddler.
Negatives:
1) Food: Terrible, really terrible. A lot of the same food every night, recycled for the next meal. Breakfast is basically eggs, cheese and stale bread. The lowest moment has to be when they served up what was allegedly 'lamb shanks'. It turned out to be an omlette stuffed with peas, carrots and LIVER! We almost vommed there and then. In fact, it might have tasted better if we had puked up over it. At least the stomach acids would have tenderised the offal and added some flavour. We were also frustrated by the lack of food being available upon our arrival at half 1 in the morning, not even a sandwich (Not good if you have a hungry toddler!). DON'T GO HALF BOARD!!!!
2) Having to pay for a fridge and a safe in your room. This was very expensive and frustrating, since our daughter was on medication that needed to be kept refrigerated, so we had no choice. 3) Be advised to RETAIN AND CHECK RECEIPTS as they have a tendency to add things to your bill which you didn't buy.
4) Turkey night: Rip off. The mezes are the same as they offer at dinner and they ration you 2 minute skewered kebabs looked(unable to determine the meat) and 2 lamb kebabs looked like two small turds.

Overall, it was a nice hotel but the food was wrong on many levels!

Stayed at mavruka sc for 1 week. Location was perfect to the beach and shops and restaurants. 15 min walk to the blue lagoon, your rep can organise free bus to lagoon if you can't walk that far.The rooms were cleaned every day but the bedding was not changed daily my sons bedding had bird poo on his sheets for 2 days. They charge for the fridge £3 aday
If you take your key out all electricity goes off in ur room so the fridge will turn off. Just buy frozen water from azda supermarket on the strip to keep

fridge cold it does work. Also buy travel kettle for 8 Turkish lire from supermarket and take your own tea coffee sugar. Best places to eat Harrys, Olive grove, bella gusto for donna kebab, josephs madras they serve indian and chinese food and shadows for a full english.
The staff in the restaurant and bars were very polite and friendly.
Reception staff and owner had no people skills wotsoever sooo ignorant.
Would stay in resort but not this hotel!!!

Room Tip: Room facing pool area are quiet

Ill keep it brief as the below two comments have hit the nail on the head.

Location perfect. Hotel spotless. Management an absolute disgrace. Unhelpful and rude people out a real downer on the whole stay.

Food - chef was absolutely brilliant guy. However food was samey but I think that's down to management. You have to pay for a drink with your meals regardless so don't go half board - pointless (breakfast consists of boiled eggs and bread.. Oh and jam)

Young waiter boys are so lovely polite and helpful.

Young English girl behind the bar was nice.

Oh and if your half board someone will still try and scam you put of paying for Turkish night.

Hope this helps. Message me of you need any further Info.
