“ANOTHER GREAT HOLIDAY”
Reviewed September 6, 2011

We stayed at the karbel sun again this year as we have done for the past eleven years its a great little hotel set in a perfect location with great views of the mountains , All the staff are very nice and only too willing to help you with what ever you ask , The rooms and grounds to the hotel are very clean and always kept very tidy , everything is on your doorstep the beach is only a few mins walk away , and the blue lagoon a free bus service from the front of the hotel great .
THANKS AGAIN , CHRIS KATHY & KIRSTY TAYLOR

Just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at the karbel sun.Hotel used for wedding venue with 25 of our friends and family staying with us at the hotel.Overall stay was fantastic, wedding day was amazing.Everything was well organised nothing was to much trouble for ali.Everything was taken care of by ali and even on our wedding day i was sunbathing around the pool.Wedding ceromony took place on the blue lagoon at sunset, which was so romantic. The reception we had back at the hotel, staff were brilliant in making our evening so special and the turkish bbq was amazing. All our guests commented on how well and special the day and evening was.It sure is a special holiday to remember that will never be forgotten. We cannot thank ali enough for everything he has done for us during our stay and most importantly the wedding.

3rd visit to karbel sun ,will return next year ,only the unwanted attention from a waiter spoilt the last couple days for my daughter who had made it clear her 14 year old daughter was out of bounds and was then treated with rudeness ,but hey ho, head /rest manager informed left it at that x

Room Tip: karbel sun have always given rooms suited to requests

HOTEL: situated in an excellent position in relation to the beach, buses, and the main strip of restaurants and bars. The pool is surrounded by the poole bar and some bedroom blocks, which is great becuase it means the pool can not be seen from the road (and you do not hear any traffic noise). surrounded by mountains which is just beautiful!
We had a standard room on the bottom floor- for the amount of time you should spend in your room while you are away it was just fine! NOTE: if you like spending time on your balcony or like room on it you will need a bottom floor room- the 2nd and 3rd floor balconys are tiny! No tables are out on there so we pushed the bedside cabnet out to play cards on!
Pool area was SO relaxing- it was heaven. Plenty of beds, although typical brits abroad everyone put out towels by 7.30ish. DOWNSIDE: we like early morning swims before brekie, only to be told sometimes that the poole wasnt ready, bit frustrating. Whilst we were there, loads of lilos and rings had been left which everyone just used.

Beaches are very pebbly and stoney- i would recommend either flip flops or swimming shoe type things!

BARS: spoilt for choice- a little cheaper along the roadside where the buses are, but its all reasonably priced for the gorgeous food you get. THere is a wonderful traditional turkish place on the left side as you walk down- upstairs of the hollywood restaurant- the bread and meat is just emmense!
Buzz bar is very stylish, great chilled music and views to die for (go at sunset)- bit more pricey but the food is worth it.
Kebabs are everywhere over there- but they arent your greasy dirty kebabs- they are delicious! A lunch time reccomendation! Secret garden is lovely and romantic too.
Trip to the market is cheap but very hot! good for turksih delight (from the 1st place as your enter the market is best) and spices but i would recommend getting clothes from the Genuine Fake Factory along the strip in olu Deniz, not at the market. (and what a brilliant name!!!)
CHerry CHew ( i think thats what its called) is a great place for some drinks and/or a hubbly bubbly pipe- the entertainemtn isnt too brits abroad like ( no karaoke thank god) and the bar staff are good fun to watch but they just leave you be and dont hassle you. Stay away from Shaddows bar- its just awfull!

Room Tip: get a room away from the pool area as can be really noisy on poole competition nights

Having never been to Turkey before and reading a few mixed reviews about this hotel, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It looked just like the brochure, clean, tidy and well maintained. We had requested first floor adjoining rooms as had 2 teenage daughters with us, both of which we had. After a few hiccups with the electric in the girls room, everything was fine for the rest of the holiday. Rooms were basic, but cleaned regularly and you dont spend enough time in them to need more!
In general, the staff were great and always made you feel welcome (including bar, reception, restaurant and maintenance staff! ). Some were more friendly than others but never over bearing. Mehmet, restaurant manager did promote the hotel restaurant, but never pushed too hard (and he does have a hard job to do!).
Food in the restaurant (the couple of times we ate there) was good, but we ate outside the hotel mainly because of the huge range of nice places to try. Prices vary, but typically the road that the buses use was best value for money. Nice places included Magic Garden (good fire show), Sultan Ahmed (bit dearer), Cousins and Help Bar, but the best place to watch the sun set and eat/drink cocktails is def, Buzz Bar on the beach, but you will have to book at least a week in advance for the best seats! Very popular!
Buses (dolmus) run continuously to Hisaronu and Fethiye, (good markets Hisaronu-Monday and Fethiye-Tues) and are cheap but usually crowded and an experience in themselves (driving skills and road use!).
OluDeniz is beautiful and not overly commericalised. You can be as relaxed or as active as you want to be (Paragliders landing on the beach every few hours! Well worth the money!). Trips can be organised with tour rep or with loads of tour companies through out the resort. But we stuck with Sky Sports and had an amazing time. Talk of the Town is a good evening out with meal included and Jeep Safari is a must (wear old clothes and take a water gun, youl get soaked, but love it!).
OluDeniz beach is mainly pebbles and deeper, rougher water. So if you want sand and shallow water, head for Blue Lagoon. Ring Billys Beach,Sugar Beach, Seahorse Club and they will pick you up at your hotel in about 5 mins, take you there and bring you back, free of charge! Hire a pedalo to see the most of the Lagoon, very pretty and relaxing.
All in all, we all had a brilliant holiday, loved the area and hotel and would recommend this to anyone. All ages are catered for. We will definitely go back to this hotel and this resort. Thanks Ali and Staff

I have been coming to this hotel for many years, it was our 13th stay at hotel karbel sun and it just gets better and better, most of the staff are lovely and entertain everyone throughout the day! the deluxe rooms were 5 star standards and ultra modern which my parents stayed in, but our standard room was 'satisfactory', the hairdryer overheated and stopped every two minutes and the door to the balcony wouldnt open, but these things were all sorted straight away! the only downside to the holiday was a batman called mustaffah who was very flirty with all the teenage girls and followed my 14 year old daughter and her friend back to the hotel and tried to kiss them, he knew their ages and it caused a lot of trouble in the hotel, but stay away from mustaffah!!!!! good hotel, mostly good staff, good food, good entertainment, brilliant value for money!
