We have about 4 beach/European hols a year. After our first and only previous trip to Turkey 24 yr ago we vowed never to return until our trusted holiday friends told us about this place. We spend ages on TA looking at and selecting hols but having had a [--] year losing family members, when our friends said come here with us you'll love it we went for it. Brilliant! Great hotel, we had basement room, never saw the higher ones so don't care, they were fine, decent size, nice ensuite, hired air con , so what you're on hol, and safe in reception no prob. The room was better than many we've had over the yrs especially compared to Greece. We're avoiding the all incl mega hotel/resorts preferring small B and B. this is ideal. Breakfast a bit boring but ok, but hotel restaurant excellent. We like to go into the resort and onto the beach (gravel! the only negative about this place) and do restaurants and bars. What a choice, lovely food, wonderful friendly service everywhere and a great night boogying at the Buzz Bar. And all so very very cheap compared with Spain. Just love the people and the buzz. We'll be back soon and Blue Star will do nicely.

Been coming to the blue star acouple of years now , and still now they bend over backwards to make your stay very relaxed and enjoyable . Memhet the owner , reception staff (zumrut) , bar staff (ozzy), restaurant staff , they all make the blue star the best , and have to say the food is the best in Olou deniz without a doubt .

Room Tip: See or e mail memhet at blue star if you want a little luxury . And they can sort out transfers for...

I read all the great reviews prior to booking and agree with them...great location n food BUT there was a couple of important points people seemed to have left out !!!
1. When you book requested a room that is not lower ground as our room many more were actually underground level and like dungeons, very dark and below standard ( others rooms are fine)
2. In these rooms they also charge £4 per day for air con
Get a room 1st floor or above and then it's a great place to stay
Food....breakfast at Joseph's in next street....best full English
Evening food at Blue Star is very good.
Buzz bar on front is by far best food and cocktails.
Any trips book at kiosk next to hotel with English lady.

Spent 2 weeks at the Blue Star in August and can honestly say that we had an absolutely brilliant stay. All the staff at the hotel and restaurant are brilliant, especially the lads at the bar, Ozzy and C-Jay. Oludeniz is a great place to spend a holiday and we are 100% going back to the Blue Star next year. SEE YOU SOON GUYS !!

We stayed at the Blue Star from 22nd August til 8th Sept. This was our sixth visit and was probably the best so far. We stayed in a de luxe room which, at £45 a night, was excellent value. This includes air con and the rental of a safe in the room. The cleaners did a brilliant job and the room was kept immaculately clean. The whole hotel is also very clean and well maintained. The gardens and pool are spot on with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. The food in the restaurant is lovely and we ate in most nights. Residents also get 10% off the menu prices!! The beach is 5 minutes away if you prefer. The 'strip' of shops bars and restaurants is also about 5 minutes away but the noise does not reach the hotel. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful- Ado Ibo Ozzie Morris and especially CJ- and the owner Memhet is such a gentleman. We have already booked up for next year and look forward to seeing all our Turkish friends again. Best wishes to receptionist Zumrut who expects her second child next month. Thank you all for a brilliant holiday xx

Depending on what you expect and what you are used to, I must say that this is a wonderful little hotel, quiet and unassertive, yet known enough for its brilliant cuisine to attract its former, current and future guests. Judging only by the fact that they did not change the food quality (from 2011) and the personnel (at least the ones working in the customer service area - waiters, superior waiters etc.), I believe they are doing fine and I wish them all the best, wholeheartedly!!!! All recommendations for the Blue Star hotel!

We have just returned from a 12 night stay at this hotel. On our arrival we had to pay £48 for aircon, this may be the going rate £4 a night but our booking had said it was free but we were to tierd to argue. The rooms are basic but clean and a little tired, could do with a revamp. Breakfast basic turkish but didn't mind at all, plenty of fresh bread. Great location 2 mins walk to beach and strip which never kept up awake. Cleaners great did not stop but we had a leaking shower which we reported 4 times but no one sorted it, the whole bathroom floor got soaked everytime we had a shower making it very slippery. We did get a visit from the cleaner who didn't know what I was saying so it went unsorted. A gripe we had was we were half board and only got part of the hotels menu on a laminated piece of card not the posh menu everyone else got and everyday our sweet was a choice of pancakes or melon which got very boring so be aware if you are half board as this hadn't been mentioned and our tour rep didn't realise. Also as mentioned on another review the hotel wanted £30.00 to keep your room on till 5pm (this seemed a bit steep as the room was only £34.00 the night). We were going to but were told our room wasn't available and we would have to use another one. This seemed pointless as we would have to pack up anyway and decided to use the underground pool shower just before we left at 7pm which was a bit gross (full of midges). Luckily a lovely Scottish lady called Mary let us use hers. CJ and Ozzie were great, place won't be the same without Ozzie. We never had any problems getting a sunbed. A few negatives but generally positive.

Room Tip: Apparently the deluxe rooms have a fridge
