Just come back from this hotel the hotel it's self was ok Our room 225 was always clean thanks to our lovely maid. But the big down side to this hotel is the filthy resttarunt and the staff in it food rubbish and always cold tables not clean no plates And the owners pet dogs in the dinning room not very nice and the other thing is the smell from all the chickens that are in a cage around the pool area . Not a very good all inclusive hotel

Stayed at the Dorian for a week in a party of four. We knew it would be a basic hotel so i wasnt disappointed. I was lucky enough to get a larger room (313) which was cleaned every day. I could always find something to eat at mealtimes although i missed breakfast because i preferred to go to "the strip" for a full English! We went down on the strip every night after having a few drinks at the bar. I couldnt listen to that music that they play on a loop system every night!! Go to Harry's Bar at the bottom of the strip. Its a rooftop bar. It's lovely. Have a few drinks in Cherry Chow Bar. The barmen get up on the bar and entertain you!! As do Tequila. Would defo go back to Olu Deniz and i would return to the Dorian.

Room Tip: Block 3 seemed to be the quietest.

Stayed at this hotel with a large group of friends for a wedding in September. On arrival, we were allocated a room very close to the main evening bar/swimming pool. Unfortunately we had to move as the electrics didn't work and were given a room by the larger pool near the back of the hotel. What luck this actually was, as the techno music favoured by the hotel would occassionally be pumped out until 2am some nights. The only downside was the newer room was actually mere metres from the hotels zoo enclosure of cockerel, turkey, ducks and whatever else they kept. However, we slept with the aircon on so we actually couldn't hear them at 4am and I don't think they caused any issues for our friends. There was a bit of a whiff around the hotel block sometimes though.

There are a few faults with this place but a few plus points - the location is fabulous. A minutes walk to the main strip of shops, bars and restaurants. The beach is maybe 5 minutes walk. Also, our actual room was quite nice, clean and in good order. We never had any issues with staff, indeed they were pretty helpful. Special mention to the lady in the shop, a real sweetheart.

The main downside for me was probably the food. I'm not very fussy and it took me a good couple of days to realise just how poor it could be at certain times, breakfast especially. To sum up, it was generally a bit repetitive, lukewarm and not always obvious what it even was. That said, the bread was always good, especially the pizza bread. We ended up eating out a couple of times, although that was more to do with wanting to go out as as a group and having a nice evening.

All things considered, I have a soft spot for this place because of my overall wonderful holiday memories. Would I stay here again? Yes, maybe but only if the price justified it. I'm sure there might be a place or two more competitive.

Just back from 1 week at this hotel. Really great location. Two large pools (one quieter than the other) and two bar areas. Lovely grounds and decent enough rooms. Plenty of sun loungers and balconies were spacious. Why have I given it a poor rating? breakfast was sufficient but very repetitive with the odd speciality such as omelette or French tupd an ok evening meal. On one occasion for the evening meal, the restaurant area looked lovely, lots of dishes and plenty of cutlery (for once) and a kebab stand set toast. Every day, it was either a really nice lunch and a terrible evening meal or a disgusting very basic lunch and an ok evening meal. On one occasion for the evening meal, the restaurant area looked lovely, lots of dishes and plenty of cutlery (for once) and a kebab stand set with fresh pitta bread being cooked - why? because they had camera crews in which is very misleading if they're going to be using this for advertising. Cups and glasses were limited both in the restaurant and at the bars and for country such as Turkey where fresh fruit and vegetables are at a high, the fruit juices were horrible squash based (unusual for this area). Although the grounds were lovely, at night they were very poorly lit which could make you feel quite vulnerable (especially with all the polish and Russian large groups of guys drinking the bar dry and becoming very leery towards any women!!). No towels when we arrived and had to fight to get two towels between the two of us to last a whole week? Bedding not changed or made and floor washed once. Toilets not cleaned and the maids were rude and very lazy. I still continued to smile and say good morning hoping i would get a clean room or a change of towel, but nothing....too busy shouting at each other.
There is no entertainment at night at all and hasn't been for a good few weeks. The excuse we were given is that it is out of season and the management have no budget. This is the height of the season and the hotel don't need a budget - its the guests who pay the performers after thier acts??
A few hints for the hotel management to improve the hotel and make the most of it while saving money.....
1.) Display the food options above each container so people are not taking a massive amount of food that they have no intention of eating because they don't know what it is
2.) Fix the juice machine - usually just full of concentrate without water which was a massive waste as you could not drink?
3.) Employ cleaners who clean
4.) Buy more towels - you get 20 for £5 at a shop around the corner from you?
5.) Cover the lovely fresh meat you put out so people will eat it without fighting with the wasps
6.) Have some sort of security at night so groups of drunks are not sitting around the sunbeds during the night getting even drunker with their duty free and leaving the cleaned area clean for the morning
7.) get some entertainment...people will stay past the 11pm all inclusive cut off and pay for their drinks rather than drinking until 11pm and then having to leave the hotel in search of something to do?
8.) Play some decent music. the majority of guests where 50+ so don't appreciate 2005 rave music
This could be a fantastic hotel with great reviews but management need to listen to the guests. We went with a group of people who had been staying at this hotel for the last 4 years and standards have slipped so much that they won't be returning. Other guests who had visited previously were also really disappointed and won't be returning. Oludeniz is a lovely place with lots of much better hotels - i believe this one may be boarded up when we return to the area next year!

Room Tip: They always seem to stick new guests in a basement room next to the disco (outside the staff sleepin...

Revently visited this hotel for a week holiday. Would have to agree with the negative posts below with regards to the food and general service levels. It was cold most of the time, of poor quality, and within minutes of being put out it was free for flys and wasps to land on. The kitchen itself, by the main pool, had flyscreens on the windows which were permanently open so this area is also free for flying insects to enter. The staff also enter and exit the kitchen through this window over the counter they use to prep food! The room we had was clean, tidy and perfectly acceptable whoever it was facing the pool area where the disco takes place in the evening so no chance of an early night as the music is extremely loud until midnight every night.

Lovely resort, poor hotel. Wouldnt return to this hotel no matter what budget I was on.

Room Tip: Main pool rooms are noisy until midnight.

We agree with mostly all the previous bad reviews! The worst part for us was the restaurant, the young waiters have obviously no idea what their role was, they didnt have a uniform (not their fault) so wore the same dirty clothes every day. The food was dire, what wasnt eaten at lunchtime was recycled for the evening meal. It was either luke-warm or cold. No labels to tell you what you were about to eat. Tables were left full of dirty plates etc long after guests had left, the tablecloths were never changed whilst we were there (10days), they were disgusting and full of stains. We had no complaints about our room (obviously the only decent one in the hotel judging by other reviews)! It was cleaned every day with clean towels, shower mat, the bed was differently made and lots of lovely shapes with the towels. We cannot fault the cleaner at all she was lovely and friendly every time we met her. Strangely tho all the cleaners had a uniform of cream trousers and white Dorian t-shirts? This hotel could be a gold-mine with the right management and re-vamp of the restaurant area.

Room Tip: a room in another hotel would be better

I agree with many of the negative comments and complaints previously written. Turkey itself is a lovely country and many of the Turks are very friendly (if not too friendly and in-your-face sometimes?) but many of the staff at Dorian Hotel seemed uninterested, unenthusiastic and the service staff in particular looked as if the were still in school and never smiled once. I received better service from the old lady who ran the cabin shop at the back of the hotel. Always a smile and a wave when we walked passed or went to buy water.

Unless you really are on a budget, I would recommend paying a little more and receive better service and standards somewhere else than those at the Dorian Hotel, of which they could not even get some of the basics right! On the flip-side of that comment, high-praise goes to the 2/3 maids that we saw on our block. The room was cleaned thoroughly daily and they always said hello and acknowledged you in passing.

Shame this did not rub off onto the young female receptionist who needed a good slap at times for her plain ignorance. We made a complaint after the third day as the 2 Management dogs were free to roam around the complex. Which is ironic as for hygiene reasons, you weren't allowed to got into the dining area without a shirt on, but dogs were free to wander begging for food whilst eating, go from under one table to the next brushing past your legs and passing on any number of fleas (they may or may not have?). In addition they would sit right in front of you and 'clean and lick' themselves whilst we were sunbathing by the pool. We went to the female receptionist who we knew she spoke clear English from a conversation with another customer, but she played the classic 'I do not understand English' card which seriously peed me off, as she clearly didn't give a damn. I also bumped into the actual hotel manager one day and to my own fault, started the conversation off with 'I need to make a complaint', to which he pointed to reception and played another classic card 'Running late, have to be somewhere else now'. I now know where she got it from!

Two tips for you. Firstly: I would advise taking a little pocket torch with you as the paths and corridors to the rooms were very poorly lit at night. the lights are on what seems to be a 1 second movement sensor timer and don't give you enough time to put one foot in front of the other before going off. There is a bridge from the dining area which is not lit at all at night, has narrow short steps and we tripped many times passing over it. Second tip: Do not drink the water from the cooler, cordial drinks or ice cubes in drinks. It is claimed to be fresh bottled but as you go out of the hotel main entrance and turn left, there is a public water feature against the hotel wall, and coming home one night about 2am we saw two men filling those large 'office water dispenser' bottles from the fountain and passing them over the wall to the hotel. Buy bottled water from the nice lady at the shop and take with you when eating.

All-in-all, a basic hotel with many 'Faulty Towers' flaws. Why it has been granted 3 star status as a hotel is baffling!

Room Tip: Rooms by the front pool area can be very noisy as the DJ plays really loud music up until 12:00am ev...
