We booked with First Choice so the air conditioning cost is included in the brochure price. Our rooms were fine but my wife spoke to people who had not been so lucky - one couple had moved 3 times. We booked half board but wished we hadn't. The food is ok but you can get better quality and value just down the road - the Hotel lunchtime food portions are much smaller than elsewhere in the resort. One day we treated ourselves to a Full English from La Mare down the main road - less than £2 each, friendly guy who provides english newspapers for you to read. ( bit embarassing as it was full of riots and stuff)
Scuba Diving trial day at Lykia World was the highlight for us. We also like Seahorse Bay and Bella & Gusto the Italian restaurant right on the Front.Friendly staff, great food and plenty to eat.

Loved the hotel, loved the resort. Staff very helpful and room clean. Liked the location of the hotel - far enough away from the noise of the nightlife but close enough to the beach for us oldies to walk. Can't wait to go back.

We arrived at the Flamingo after a night flight expecting to recieve 3 family rooms for the 8 of us who travelled. Instead we were told that we had 2 rooms for the first night and would be rectified the following day. The following day arrived and considering we had booked 3 family rooms we ended up with 2 double rooms and a family room but after a few requests were given 2 family rooms (which only had double bed how they could call it a family room i have no idea) and asked to have a put up bed in the 3rd room so rooms can be a bit of a let down. The cleaning staff were excellent cleaned rooms daily fantastic service. The young girl with glasses at reception was excellent at her job as well as all the waiters especially ugurcan (superman as we called him) overall atmoshphere was very pleasant. We felt that the manager was very unapproachable and a little smiile from him wouldn't have gone a miss!!! The only problem after the first day was the bill about half way through the holiday we had recieved something extra on our bill when questioned about it they were excellent at finding all the receipts for your room, they couldn't find the receipt therefore the money came off! we made sure that we paid daily otherwise think it would have been a bit of a problem keeping track of what you had ordered. The idea of having a quiet pool was great as travelling with teenage boys the family pool made it easy for them to have fun. The breakfast was typical turkish and i personally couldn't fault it, however we paid for half board and after the first week the meals were quite repetive therefore we went out to eat. We paid extra to have the a la carte at the hotel and it was tremendous, excellent food and mehmet filleting the fish was worth watching. overall a fantastic holiday was had and the staff were so friendly it made the holiday. Well done flamingo.

Just returned home from the Flamingo and had a great holiday. We arrived early hours of the morning and were put into a room below the pool, we had requested a room in Flamingo 2. The following morning we were moved to a superb room in F2 with a lovely view. The staff were very friendly, although moreso to the people who stayed around the hotel for much of their stay. We like to venture out and do the trips so didn't really spend an awful lot of time at the hotel. The breakfast is as you would expect, we just stuck to toast and jam most mornings. Had lunch there twice and I wasn't that impressed so we ate out the rest of the time. The choice of two pools was good, we chose the bottom pool as this was a quiet area and families with children were advised to use the other pool. Air con was £4 per day which we paid on arrival, its best to pay your hotel bill as you go along, otherwise it could be a bit of a shock at the end of your holiday, and remember to check it is correct! Whilst we were there we opted to do the Paragliding with Gravity, was very nervous but it turned out to be a wonderful experience and one which I will do again. The jeep safari was a good, very long day out and thoroughly enjoyed. The beaches at the Lagoon are well worth a visit, the main beach is just a bit too difficult to get in and out of! Cloud 9 restaurant/bar is a great place to sit and chill and watch the paragliders land, and also good for an evening meal. Antique and N-Joy restaurants are also very good too. Shadows bar makes for a very funny evening, the compare is hilarious. All in all a very good holiday, Olu Deniz is a great place and the hotel was lovely. Would recommend, but worh paying a little extra to stay in the Flamingo 2 rooms.

Olu Deniz is nestled within green mountains and the Flamingo Hotel is situated a simple 10 minute walk from the beach front bars and restaurants with views down to the sea.
We booked a "Suite" which had 1 main bedroom ( a double and a single bed) and 1 lounge containing a sofa bed.
The space was ample for 2 adults and 2 kids (15 years and 12 years old) and the 2 bathrooms / showers made it easy to all get ready at around the same time.
The accommodation was a big positive factor in our enjoyment of this holiday.
There was an air con unit in each room and we found that as we gradually got used to the 40 plus temperatures we (especially the children) didn't need them on or set quite so low quite so much.
The lounge contained a small kitchen type area with a fridge / kettle / hob but as you are not allowed to bring food in from outside we didn't use it except for making coffee and tea or storing bottled water.
Some people booked a "Family Room" thinking they were getting a "suite" as it was not very clear on some of the travel agent web sites and those people were a little disappointed on arrival so make sure you get the room you want when booking. (There are only 4 Suites in the hotel).

We booked B and B and the breakfast was plentiful with eggs, toast, water melon, tea, coffee, orange juice, cereal plus the more Turkish traditional breakfast such as olives, cold meats, their version of feta cheese etc.
We did say that after 1 week we would have liked more choice (such as different cereals) but then we don't usually have that much choice at home so maybe that was a little harsh.

The staff were all very warm, friendly and helpful (as it seemed most of the Turkish people we met were).

We did eat evening meals twice at the Flamingo on their BBQ nights (with belly dancing / fire show) and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced a 30 Lire a head (about £ 12).
In fact, within the whole resort, everything seemed very reasonably priced from excursions to dinners to drinks to watches (even the genuine makes) and if you are looking for a holiday outside the expensive Euro zone, Olu Deniz is a good family choice for that reason alone.

Free games of Pool and Table Tennis were available at one of the two pool areas and this lead to an easy way of making friends for children and adults alike.

Other points :

1) There is no shortage of water in Turkey. They have lots of springs and the mountains are green which was in stark difference to previous hoildays in Crete, Spain etc.

2) The Blue Laggon is a useful and picturesque alternative to the beach. If you have a Travel Agent Rep they will phone the Beach Club (we used the Seahorse) and they will come an get you and take you back for free.

3) Turkey apparently does not have any brand protection laws so there is plenty of "genuine fake" goods if that's what you want although it's probably against UK law to bring them back !
Barter for everything.

4) We stayed during Ramadan but this didn't affect the holiday except for minor things such as when offering to buy the bar staff a drink they declined alcohol and opted for an Iced Tea or Red Bull.

5) Although there were no organised childrens activities, our children and other younger children seemed to make friends easily around the pool and amuse themselves with games of table tennis, pool or just playing in the water.

Some tips :
1) At the Flamingo you buy drinks / snacks / lunches etc by charging them to your room number. The staff may miss hear your room number so make sure it's written down correctly on the receipt and settle your bills daily at reception so that you can more easily tell if there has been an error.
2) "Bacon" and "ham" are rarely that.
3) "Fillet" steak isn't.
4) Lamb casseroles and "clay pot" dinners are very tasty
5) The beach is stoney at the seas edge plus the combination of waves and steepness of the sea floor mean that it may not be suitable for small children and older ones may want to buy some beach shoes. The surrounding mountains are however very beautiful, the walk will not be far from any hotel and it's worth a visit.
6) A ten percent tip is greatly appreciated

Recommendations :

1) The Scuba Diving intro session at Licky world was amazing. The Licky World resort is a short distance away and is great for a day visit even if you are not scuba diving and are just accompanying those that are. The tuition on the dive was on a "one to one" basis and they only take you as far as you want (up to 5 meters).

2) The Dalyan Experience was a fun day where you visit mud baths then take a relaxing boat ride (lots of room) up the river past ancient cliff tombs to a sandy beach to spend some time sun bathing / swimming in the sea or the fresh water river. We also saw some Loggerhead turtles for which the beach is known as a nesting site and is protected after 7 pm.

3) The "Talk of the Town " drag queen / comedy show in Hisaronu was hillarious although do not expect a sophisicated meal ! (Get seats near the stage and you stand a chance of getting involved)
