“Avoid Thomas Cook at all costs - horrendous! Majestic hotel - basic, cheap and cheerful”
Reviewed October 18, 2009

Do not book with Thomas Cook - they completely messed up our booking and we had a huge battle to sort things out - they refused to correct our booking, even though they made a huge error in the booking - outrageous and infuriating behaviour from such a huge operator!!!!!

The Majestic hotel- we stayed at the Majestic in October 2009, it wasn't our first choice, but it was fine. We arrived at 4am and shown to our room by the friendly reception staff. The room was noisy and backed on to a noisy road which kept us awake what was left of the night. We spoke to reception staff they next day and they happily moved us to a different room overlooking the pool. This was fine and we had a nice holiday from day 2 onwards.

Majestic is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, a short walk to the nightlife and restaurants - a good distance away as it was nice and quiet at our hotel, but would have been too noisy in the main area.

Yes the breakfast is basic, but it was fine - cereal and toast - normal breakfast!! If you want to pay for a full english then you can do so at numerous restaurants in town.

The rooms are basic but clean - beds, TV (ours had 3 english speaking channels - bbc news and american sitcom channel), balconies were ok - we had 2 as our room was on the end of the block, get a room overlooking the pool - very quiet at night time.

We always had hot water which was great.

The pool and surrounding area is small, but adequate for a dip at the end of the day on the way back from the beach.

Olu Deniz is quite a small town, not a whole lot to do except enjoy the beach, the sun and eating out at night. The restaurants are hit and miss - some very good, some very bad, and also quite expensive - lots of Brits around to part with the cash!!

Overall the hotel is good value (i.e. cheap and cheerful). It is in an excellent location for the beach and eating out at night.

Returned to this hotel many times. This time for end of season .
This hotel is basic turkish hotel . Rooms are clean and comfortable . Food is good i have never had bad meal here. Breakfast is turkish breakfast (after all you are in turkey). Please remember Turkey isn't in EU (Thank goodness) it will loose all its natural culture. Standards are different from other countries.
Staff are great very helpful. Please treat them with respect, some of them have little english but are willing to try and understand and help. There is no need to be rude or treat them like servants.
as it was end of season some staff have already left so the rest of the staff are doing work of 2/3 people.
If you want 4/5 star book into more expensive hotel don't expect more for your money.
Well done to all the staff at the Majestic you are great.

Stayed at the majestic with best mate for 1 week,B&B.The hotel is nicely situated for beach and night life. The breakfasts were very repetative and if you like hard boiled eggs and bitter coffee you'll be fine.A 3star rating is a misrepresentation. We had no shower door,a very old TV with 10 channels (all in Turkish) towels that were once white like sandpaper, and sheets that were grey. The swimming pool is too small and rooms need updating. The staff made up for the state of the hotel, friendly and helpful and determined to do all they can.If basic is what you want that is what you get but dont be fooled by ratings, one star is generous.

after reading some of the earlier reviews about this hotel we were a bit unsure as what to expect but when we arrived at 3.30am we were pleasently suprised we were showed to our room which was in the old block, the room was basic but it had everything we needed, the balcony was good as you could get up in the morning and first thing you would see was the paragliders in the sky, breakfast was simple but there was plenty and if anything ran out the staff would top it up for you, plus you are not too far away from shops restaurants and of course the beach, over all the majestic is cheap and you get what you pay for, we are booking to come back next year.

We have just come back from 2 weeks in the Majestic like every one else who reads
reviews you never know till you get there .Well we got there 5-30 am meet by the night porter who was very very help full we paid for fridge safe box as we expected which cost me nearly £50.
The room we had was quiet ,clean, bedding was changed every day as were the towels only complaint was they were like sand paper but got better as the weeks went on.
The staff were very good nothing was to much trouble so really cant complain about them.
Pool was small but was enough beds if you wated to stay around the pool but with the beach only 10 min stroll was not a problem.
Breakfast was basic as we expected but you could get breafsat any where if you had enough of bolied eggs and toast or cereals.
As I said my view could be different from any one elses but on the whole we enjoyed our stay at the Majestic and yes we would go again

We stayed in the Majestic for just over 2 weeks.......the staff were helpful, the room was clean but extremely basic, you really get what you pay for. In those 2 weeks we must have had hot water about 6 times, so be prepared for loads of cold showers. The noise levels (day and night) in the hotel for the first week and a half were ridiculous. Whether it was music from the bar or staff shouting while you're trying to relax around the pool or noise from the surrounding hotels....it was unbearable. The walls in the rooms are also paper thin, so be prepared to hear every murmur from the room next door. The hotel also charges extortionate amounts for aircon and safety deposit boxes. We tried to spend as little time at the hotel as possible for the 2 weeks.

You got to love the people who complain about broken glass expecting it to be the hotels fault or the people who say its amazing yet when you get there the pool is tiny??
The truth is this is a basic hotel and you will make of it what you will.
Yes the poll is small but once there you realise all the other hotels have same size pool but yes i agree its small but adequate for time of year we went mabye if you went in june july and lots of kids it would be a nightmare but we found it fine.
The rooms are ok not delux by any means but adequate only bad point is the sheets are very hard but you just rip it off and sleep with the top cover on you, problem solved.
Its close right next door to everything takes 10 minutes to walk down to the beach.
the bar staff ayhan and fatma are good fun once you get to know them they make an effort and yes some ppl have complained there is no english speaker at reception thats semi true at nightshift is a non english speaker but come on guys seriousley how many times do you go to reception with a problem at 0100 in the morning and if you do go the 8 second walk to the bar and get the bar staff to help they speak perfect english.

The truth is its a cheap hotel in the heart of the action that is adequate if you use it as a base jumping off point like we did,,,if you want a top class hotel go book the turk hotel or somewhere else to be honest id rate it 2/5 for a place to book but id rate it 4/5 for location and thats what we were after.
its a no frills hotel but it isnt a nightmare like some people have said,we stayed bed and breakfast and yes the breakfast is simple but so what have cereal thats what i did,
