“Loved this Hotel and Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2011

Just returned from Olu Deniz. The Tower Hotel is in an ideal location at the bottom of the hill as you enter the resort. We were greeted by a very pleasant guy on Reception at 4.00 a.m. who showed us to our room at the back of the Hotel. This room was very quiet and away from the bar area. The shower was the best shower we have ever had abroad with plenty of hot water all day. The rooms are basic but perfectly adequate ( who wants to spend a lot of time in their hotel room when on holiday). They were spotlessly clean as was the whole resort. The staff were all very friendly and could not do enough for you.

The breakfasts were typically Turkish and if you wished to have a cooked "British" breakfast it was available at extra cost.

The resort itself is set in a lovely bay and there are lots of Restaurants and Bars to choose from. The Magic Garden just down from the hotel is very nice and the food there was great and very reasonably priced.

This hotel was by no means the only one that asks you not to take food and drink in from outside, we saw lots of the other hotels with the same notices outside. You just need to put your bottles of water etc. in your bag - no problem!!

There is no entertainment at the hotel apart from the Turkish Night once a week - and it was very good - but there are plenty of places in the resort itself.

There are two lovely dogs at the hotel, especially a puppy who is adorable.

We loved everything about this hotel and resort and will be back .

Just returned from a 10 day break booked at last minute. Never been to Olu Deniz or Turkey before. Stayed at the Tower hotel on B&B basis.
Rooms...Small but clean, plenty of hot water and good shower, just be aware that the walls are very thin so all noises can be heard, not good when people are arriving and departing in the early hours of the morning. Balconies are also very small, just about seat two people on the plastic chairs supplied. bedding is basic, an undersheet and a throw over to sleep under, no top sheet (3 star hotel???).
Breakfast was the main gripe, never eaten plastic tasting cornflakes before, but that was the only cereal on offer every morning, bread was fresh but toaster took at least 3 attempts to toast. No fresh fruits or yoghurts, just some meats and cheese and boiled eggs. Top tip take your own teabags as the urn of tea supplied stews very quickly.
Pool...very clean, always sunbeds available.
Staff Ok, but don't get caught bringing in food or drink (Bottled water) from the cheaper supermarkets down the road! Again a strange thing for a hotel to stipulate that you cannot bring anything into the hotel that wasn't purchased from them.
Finally Olu Deniz.... save your cash and time and go to Blackpool instead, it's about on par apart from the weather of course. Don't go expecting to find any turkish culture or real turkish food, it's taccy, tasteless and false, totally aimed at extracting money from you the tourist for a not very good return. 'Hello my friend, have a look at my menu, best food here', is the usual chant as you walk by, unfortunately it's not the best food anywhere. If full english breakfasts or fish and chips, karaoke and bad Elvis Presley impressions are your thing on holiday you won't be disappointed.
If you do go, ignore the hassley waiters on the main drag and consider a cocktail at the Cloud 9 bar at sunset and food and drinks at the Buzz bar, they saved our holiday!!!

What can we add to the reviews nothing at all really as all has been said - but the Tower Hotel is great and all who work there are so friendly they could not do enough for you. So Merhaba to you all. Must not forget the lovely dog Bobbie who lives there. We so enjoy oursleves it was our first full holiday to Turkey and we will definately be going back next year, not only for the Tower Hotel but for Oludeniz itself just a wonderful place. Everyone you dealt with was friendly and that is not only at the hotel. Met lots of nice people perfect holiday. Mention for Mehmet at Guides Tours so helpful and reasonable priced tours. The Soap Lady - just love those soaps especially the carrot. To many nice restuaurants to mention - but will mention the Buzz Beach Bar for its views night or day time and staff. Thank you M&M

What a Fab holiday, absolutely perfect infact! Approximately 1 hour and a half from the airport Olu Denis is set in a gorgeous cove. The Tower Hotel is family run hotel more suited for couples looking for a relaxed welcoming place to return to after a fun packed evening. Rooms are basic but very clean and air conditioned. Only BBC world news on telly. No safes, but valuable items can go in a safety deposit box. The pool is lovely with a bar, pool table and table tennis. The restaurant is set on a terrace plus the hotel is great for dog lovers...a puppy called Jordan and Bobby are the hotel pets who adore some fuss! The staff are helpful and courteous and speak excellent English. FOR SCOTTISH TRAVELLERS..V IMPORTANT..Scottish notes are not generally accepted, if you do manage to change Scottish notes its 2 lira to a £1, normal exchange rate is 2.5 lira to a £1. In addition, most traders prefer English notes so its advisable to take a small amount of lira. For English notes-the exchange rate is better in Turkey than the UK the hotels shops banks and restaurants are very eager to exchange money. The excursions are reasonably priced, parasending, quad biking, horse riding, boat trips, too many to mention! If you book a couple of tours barter for a discount - we used 'easy riders'. For fakes and gifts the market at Fethiye is Tuesday, DONT book the market tour..catch the mini bus for 9 lira return. Mini buses run every 5 min and pick you up and drop off pretty much where you want. But be aware the market is not for the faint hearted! £145 hand bag was eventually sold for£10, they are very pushy sellers. Food is pretty cheap - roughly £3 / 4.5 lira for lunch + drink. Dinner is around £12 / 30lira a pint is 4 lira / £1.70 soft drinks are the same. The food unfortunately caters for the uk, you're hard pushed to find true Turkish food. Tipping is customary, it goes in the bosses pocket...waiters don't keep them. We tipped 1 or 2 lira so the equivalent of pence. The beach is beautiful beds are 9 lira for the hire it is sharp so beach shoes are helpful. It is a really great place to visit, the magic garden is a brill bar for chilling, loud and dancing go for Harry's bar and entertainment shadows bar. Restaurant to visit: olive tree, Madras. Go and enjoy yourself!!

Myself and my partner booked this holiday through the Co-operative Travel where I work so needless to say I quite anxious as to what the hotel would be like. I have been to Turkey once before and really did not enjoy it. However, it was through recommendation of customers that made us give Olu Deniz ago.

Staff were brilliant, we arrived early hours of the morning and was greeted with a smiling face at reception straight away. Our room (106) was small but absolutely immaculate. The maids came around everyday and cleaned from top to bottom making hearts out of towels and scattering flower petals over our bed. Something they did not have to do but showed that they really took pride in their work.

The hotel itself was beautiful, lovely gardens, spotlessly clean and a perfectly sized pool area with enough sun beds for everybody. The atmosphere was always very relaxing and staff did their very best to ensure you were having a lovely time.

Location was also perfect, 5 minutes walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. Olu Deniz is quite a busy resort but it never felt over crowed. The choice of places to eat was brilliant, everything from American, Italian, Thai to traditional Turkish cuisine. Give The Secret Garden ago, very reasonable prices and they serve some tasty foods. Around Olu Deniz are several other resorts which from taking the dolmus there during the day, were no where near as nice! It seemed as though they had run out of money as everything was kind of half done and a little tatty.

Overall, a beautiful hotel set in a lovely resort. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to other people and would definitely consider going back again.

Room Tip: request room 106 - we had a lovely pool view.

Arrived mid afternoon to a friendy greeting and my suitcase carried to our room. The room was smaller than expected, but lovely and clean with (joy of joys) a walk in shower. We opted to rent a fridge as we like our water cold and also hired a security box in reception although we felt secure in leaving phones and jewellery in the room.A couple of nitpicks about the room was that it could have done with more cupboard space and instructions for the airconditionng control (as ours was a bit technical) but were very impressed that it was free (full marks). The towels were changed every day and the cleaner kept the room spotless.

The pool was lovely and clean and we always managed to find sunbeds and umbrellas and the bar by the pool was handy for drinks and snacks, tea and cakes were brought round the pool at about 4pm and make sure you have a slice of the apple pie as it was the best I have ever tasted.

The food was ok, not great but passable. Breakfast was fine, but could have done with a change from boiled eggs (maybe scrambled) and a bit of fruit or yougart would have been nice. Dinner was ok, the soup was good and the various turkish dishes were nice, but the meat dishes were hit and miss, so we ate out for a couple of nights to relieve the monotomy. If you consider what you pay for half board I dare say it was good value for money. The food on the turkish (you pay extra) was good, lots to eat and of good quality and the entertainment was very enjoyable.

The staff at the hotel were some of the friendliest I have ever met and nothing was too much bother which helped to make our stay at thishotel so good.

We had many good evenings in the town, plenty of bars and restautants, friendly people and especially enjoyed watching the phatom bat and ball game at the bar (cant remember its name but its opposite theMacdonalds Mcflurry on the main street) great fun.

All in all a great holiday spoiled only by the crap beach which is so pebbly you have tobuy shoes (sold in the shops) just to get in the water and look really stupid trying to get out afterwards, so be prepared to stay around your pool.

Would stay at the hotel again, but would not use the beach.

This was our 4th holiday in Turkey and can honestly say that this was the best hotel we've stayed in, especially in terms of friendliness of the staff. Like a lot of people we arrived in the middle of the night to be greeted by Tom who carried our cases down to our room, and straight away the joking started, by telling us that we had no electricity in our room. I don't think he realised, that we knew you had to place the key card in the slot for it to work. Well that set the stall for the rest of the holiday by virtue of the friendly and good natured manner of the staff. Having read some negative reviews, I cannot fault any aspect of this hotel from the cleanliness of the rooms, pool and bar area to the food provided. Yes, it is a continental breakfast with meat and cheeses and the toaster was a bit dodgy, but I've had a lot worse than that. If you wanted, the evening meal consists of four courses; soup, salad, main and dessert which were all very palatable and the tables were cleared very quickly after each course. The location of the hotel is superb, nestling at the bottom of wonderful hills and is about a 5 min walk from the beach, which if you're walking along, keep an eye on the sky for paragliders, for they suddenly appear and can land quite close to you. I would have liked a little more evening entertainment, as it's only provided once a week. What we did have however was quite enthralling with Tukish folk dancing followed by a Belly Dancer! Having said that, the 2 barmen especially Tom, kept us entertainned nightly, and I can recommend the Black Russians! You will find a range of well known shops down in the town - Azda, Harrodz, Jeff at Harvey Nicks and Sainsburys to name but a few. Having just retired, I can now have holidays when I want, and will certainly be going back to this hotel. Probably in September. Thanks to all the staff for making this such an enjoyable holiday.
