“A piece of heaven in sunny oludeniz :)”
Reviewed February 1, 2012

I went into thomas cook 4 years ago and booked to go to turkey for the first time. I was going with my mum and sister, so we told the travel rep we wanted somewhere nice and safe for 3 women. We chose turquoise hotel and oludeniz.
From the first moment of stepping off the plane, we loved it. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our room.
The hotel itself is amazing, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and scenery, with absolutely fantastic Staff. The staff work really long days, but always have a smile and a laugh with us. I have never met more attentive, friendly people in my life. I have made friends for life here :)
This is the first hotel that we have stayed at more than once, we have booked to go back June and october this year, with june being our 9th time here.
We have seen continuous improvements over the years and each time we come back, something has changed for the better :)
We <3 you all at the turquoise and can't wait to be back in june
All our love marie and eileen shead xx

We stayed mid October for 2 weeks 2011. We were led to believe this hotel was suitable for families this was my biggest MUST HAVE and the reason for booking. Instead we found a playroom with unsafe equipment, no kids club, freezing cold pool, poor selection of kids food- chips and chicken nuggets every night and our family room was located down a flight of steps in what can only be descibed as a dungeon. If you are brave enough to read on i will continue:
1. Family room down a flight of steps- great access when you have a buggy!
2. Bathrooms had poor ventilation and the cielings were floating therefore you can imagine the sounds and smells :(
3. Bedding stained and ripped.
4. Playroom not only unsafe but they actually decided to paint whist the children were playing and did not inform anyone- my daughter created some lovely footprints round the pool.
5. Pool absolutely freezing throughout the day- did seem clean though.
6. Sunbeds often dirty or damaged.
7. Staff very rude and miserable.
8. Guest made to feel like second class citizens as had to make way for a Turkish wedding over 400 guests meal time changed and grass area near pool closed for 48hours.
9. Turkish guest/managements friends had tables reserved in resturaunt often 2 people sat at a table for 12 while others had to wait. They had waiter service, nice crockery etc etc. In the evenings it was absolutly freezing- take a winter coat- NO JOKE. They had two patio heaters but these were often taken again by the friends of the management and often the indoor pool bar area was reserved for these people to watch Turkish Basketball while the rest of the guest were left to freeze on the tables beside the pool.
10.Had to wait to be seated at meal times (table of four).
11. Food had a limited selection not replenised throughout the evening but always something edible.
12. Dogs were fine, very friendly.
13. On leaving the hotel again decided to do some painting so walkways with ramp access was closed. Fantastic idea when you have three suitcases a buggy and young child to move.
14. Noise from the Mosque at first annoying at 6am but did get used to it.
15. Evening entertainment was hit and miss- repeated for second week some nights there was none others a pirate DVD on a large screen outside in the cold.
16. The resort of Olu Deniz is very panaramic and i can honestly say if it wasn't for this and some lovely fellow guests this holiday would have been unbearable.
NOTE: October high numbers of Jellyfish advised against swimming in the sea.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in June 2011 and we LOVED it! We are 19 and 20 years old and we have nothing to complain about. We arrived at about 9am there time and were greeted by the reception staff who then, carrying our luggage, showed us to our room in block 4. It was bright, big, clean and had a view looking over the pool. It was lovely. Anyone that complains about the noise from the entertainment in block 4 is just trying to find something to moan about as all entertainment had finished by 11pm. Breakfast finished at 10.30 although if you slept in, as we did, the pool bar served food from 11, which was very good, including burgers and chips, and then lunch was served from 12 which again was lovely! although sometimes the poolside was extremely busy, we managed to get sunbeds and parasols everyday.

The hotel is 30 seconds walk to the main strip which was always very lively! The men from the shops and bars will always ask you to come in and look but you just have to say no thanks and they will leave you alone. You can also book many exertions in the strip, such as paragliding (which is amazing!!! jumping off a 6000ft cliff and looking at the view of the blue lagoon is a once in a lifetime experience. Although if you suffer with travel sickness, be warned! I threw up whilst in the sky 5 times and yes it went all over the 'sky sports man' that was with me although he couldn't have been any nicer about it). The jeep safari is great too and you have the chance to buy many professional photographs.

Dinner was lovely everyday, and if you're not the most adventurous with trying different foods, they always offered chips, chicken nuggets, stir fry etc. They also did a movie night which was great. they put bean bags and sun loungers on the grass with a big screen and played English films whilst offering popcorn etc. The staff do their best to try and make your holiday the best, including Anna, the personal relations lady.

You should definitely go to olu deniz, it's brilliant! You will love every minute of it and want to go back again and again.

Room Tip: Block 4, room 416 is lovely!

we stayed here in october and had a good holiday apart from a few minor issues. The hotel was of a good size about 116 rooms not too big and the rooms were a little small but your not on holiday to sit in your room so this wasn't a big problem. The hotel itself was situated on the outskirts of olu deniz, but only a ten minute walk to the beach and about 3 minutes to where the shops and bars began their path down to the sea.In the hotel grounds the grow an assortment of plants and trees including bananas, pommegranites, grapes and they are well looked after by the grounds staff. The staff in general seemed a little bit miserable but it was the end of the season when i went there and also the hotel owner was staying at the time and the staff were a little on edge with him around so this could explain the reason for this. The food at the turquiose hotel i found to be better than the previous hotel i stayed at in bodrum, and if your not keen on turkish food then from 11am to 6pm you can eat toasted sandwiches, chips, burgers, spaghetti etc from the poolside diner if thats more your cup of tea.Overall i would stay here again, but not in october because the swimming pool was a little bit cold and it took a lot of courage to jump in much to the annoyance of my son.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from the roadside so i was told, but i didn't hear much noise at all.

We stayed here for two weeks in July 2011.

Our transfer from the airport to the hotel was relatively easy/comfortable and relatively quick (approx. 1 hr by coach).

Upon arrival we were greeted by staff politely and our cases were taken to our room. First impressions of the hotel reception are good (you can tell this is where the owner decided to up his € per square meter rates on finishes). The two alsatian dogs were not an issue for us as they were relatively docile and kept themselves within the hotel lobby.

Location wise it is pretty good being at the top of the main strip but away for all the noise. Its a 10-15 min walk to the beach.

The ground of the hotel are excellent. They are very well maintained and looked great every day. We did however feel very let down at the number of sun loungers available to guests. The hotel had clearly not allocated enough and every morning there was a 6:30 am scrabble for leaving towels on loungers especially around the pool area. This needs to be addressed by the hotel.

Our room was basic, a little dated but was clean and was fine for the two weeks. We found the air-conditioning a godsend as it does get very hot. We would recommend asking for a room on the East of the site (away from the road and Dorian) as the Dorian does tend to have loud music, audible from in the room, until approx. 1am.

The food in the hotel was not the best all inclusive we've ever had but ceartinly not the worst. The food was varied most days and there was ample choice. We were glad to see that the majority of food was Turkish as after all you are visiting Turkey. The all inclusive drinks were ok, having been all inclusive in Cuba a year earlier we were disappointed at the choice on offer but there was enough to keep you invested.

Similar to the food the entertainment staff were good, but not as good as at other all inclusive holidays. They did however work very hard in the heat. A suggestion perhaps would be to vary the programme a little more and introduce some other activities as only a core 3/4 were used daily (water polo, water basketball and aerobics).

We found the customer liaison lady to be quite rude she seemed to linger around the larger groups avoiding speaking to others and became very stroppy when discussing the lack of sun loungers.

The evening entertainment was pretty good, but was often brief, the highlight being a cinema night where the hotel projected a movie onto a screen handing out popcorn.

Overall the hotel is good but with a tiny push by the owners on quality, updating the decor in the rooms, proving more loungers etc. it could be very good.

Room Tip: I would definitely recommend asking for a room on the East of the site (away from the road and Doria...
