“End of season shambles!”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

5 of us have just returned from the alize, having never been all inclusive before, we had been reading all these trip advisor reviews and had high hopes - we were wrong, but i hope its all because we went at the end of a season.

Staff - the staff started off being wonderful, i can see how they get praised like they do on here. But by mid-week of our holiday, their focus was going home! Service slowed down and came without a smile, everything was too much trouble.

Food - if you will eat anything, youll be fine. If youre a fussy eater, be prepared to have bread, chips and maybe some fried chicken (or a burger is you can wait til 11pm). But us fussy eaters will be used to that. Food and drinks are all inclusive, but there is time slots and if you wake up early from the noise of the mosque & roosters outside your room - you cant get a cuppa as easily as you may think. Our food kept being reused, whatever was left from the previous meal was put out again, im sure of it. And with the flies this time of year it was so off putting - but that is down to how late in the season we went, so dont go here in the october half term.

Rooms - what more do you want - a/c, a bed, and a bathroom. Like others, our shower leaked too, but that can be limited to keeping the shower door shut and turning on and off while in there. Our loo leaked water from the basin and a towel was down otherwise we'd have been flooded.
Balcony big enough to dry your beach towel and costumes, and sit out and smoke on, but if u leave the door open the a/c wont run - fair enough! Biggest down point, arranging the day around hot water - supply off at 10am and back on at 5pm. So dont come back sandy from the beach any sooner!

Faclilities / entertainment - the spa was great, basic but it was the best pedicure id ever had and for only £10! Turkish bath looked great & very cheap, but we did the excursion instead for this but it was not as good as the hotel!
Not much entertainment, but its end of season, so no crowds to draw you in to giving things a go. Bit of a shame really, there was no lively atmosphere. And the authentic belly dancer was a girl named Jane who seemed to be english! And she was more interested in showing the lads up in front of us all.

Olu Deniz - wonderful area, loved the blue lagoon beach (fee to pay but worth it!) seahorse beach included with our hotel - more like southend sea front with fag buts and dog mess. Shops love to haggle, but not as good as the fethiye market - u can get a real bargain. Cheap to go by taxi if theres a group of you - can haggle those prices too. But if you are a couple, can use dolmus for a few lira but are a small bus and much slower up the mountains.

Everything is cheap out there so cant complain about the prices. Yes you will get hounded by staff when in the shops and they will try to persuade you to buy, but just keep saying no. They are friendly enough and like a laugh and a joke too.

Take a trip to hisaronou (3TL on the dolmus) - loads of shops and bars here (well not at end of season, they were all closed!)

Turkish bath - always look at what your hotel has to offer first, the excursions treat you like cattle with strangers, often more private in the hotels and more like a spa treatment

We have been oludeniz before and loved it, hense the visit back to stay at this hotel. Wasnt as good as our previous visit to a different hotel, Montana Pine, that was amazing.

There are stray dogs and cats and chickens everywhere, but they are innocent enough, its just what its like there, we even had a rabbit hop past in a restaurant, we thought it was quite cute, but if u hate animals you wouldnt appreciate them. Mainly in the hotel there were 2 of the resident cats around at food times - they stick around if they are fed scraps, if not they will find another table who will feed them - the staff would shoo them away tho if they spotted them.

Overall, id say dont leave it as late as october to go here, many guests we spoke to felt the same. You may have a different experience if you go another time of the year, i wouldnt rule the hotel out when deciding where to go, just be cautious of the time you pick. And what we hated, you may love. But if your all inclusive and want to get your moneys worth - you cant be a fussy eater or have them in the family, if thats the case ur best going half board or b&b.

Have just returned from another week at the Alize and yet again it didn't disappoint. On arrival we were greeted by the same lovely reception staff who were there in May, Ahmet and Sehnia. Nothing is any bother for these two, always smiling and wanting to help their guests. A perfect first impression.
Many of the other staff were still there, still smiling and working so hard, even if they did look a little bit tired after a long, hard season.
Food was still really good, still a fair amount to choose from even if it was the last week they were open, also bbq every night was still being done.
Rooms are spotless, ok some are basic but how much time do you want to spend in it? just enough time for a shower and somewhere to put your head down, i would have thought. The chambermaids are lovely and always manage to smile and say hello to you each day.
Ice creams available along with pizza and snacks from 3-5pm each day. You must try the pizza, zafer the pizza chef never stops working and his pizzas are the best!!
Entertainment? i have to say poor erkan couldnt win! people have to remember that this is the last week of the season and everywhere is closing down and quietening down! so when i heard some lady moaning that there wasnt anything going on one evening, i would like to point out that the previous evening there had been a disco on but no one was there, the previous day erkan and his staff had been going round all day trying to sell raffle tickets, during the whole day only 3 people brought some so it was cancelled, also a quiz night was poorly attended. If you want a full entertainment program then the last week of season is not the best time to go, try going in high season instead!
Cant wait for our next visit in may. This is the perfect place to chill out and relax.

Returned to the Alize again this summer. Last year it was so fantastic but this year, there was a different atmosphere. The staff seemed less friendly, choosing to serve the Turkish guests first despite them not queuing for drinks. The entertainment for children was still fabulous and my kids just love Erkam and his team. They loved the mini disco and games that were on in the day. The sunbed situation is just mad - beds being reserved from 4am and all gone by 6am. Management not bothered that people were reserving beds and then going out and not using them all day. Sooo frustrating. the area around the pool is still a real hazard - saw kids and adults slipping over everyday and pool little boy split his head open when he slipped over on the wet tiles - it was a bad accident waiting to happen - was the same last year and they still haven't addressed this. Although it is a friendly and compact hotel, which I prefer to large hotel complexes, i won't be going back again. The photographer was very moody when we only wanted to buy three pictures instead of the 10 he was trying to sell at a very high price and became quite rude. The hair and beauty salon was still great value and the Turkish massages there really are the best.

This is my 3rd visit to Turkey and 2nd to this hotel and must say they have made some improvements to the hotel. The rooms have been refurbished, the toilets around the hotel have also been revamped. The food was really good especially liked the bbq every night. The staff are really friendly and most speak good English.
The hotel is in prime position at the top of the main strip and away from all the noise but close enough.
Overall I would recommend this hotel and will be visiting again.

Just returned, unfortunately it rained for the majority of the time (4 days on and off). So won't consider a holiday to this region again after the first week of oct.

Staff - very friendly, helpful and still motivated which took me by surprise as the tourist season is over now. Starts again in Apr.

Hotel - generally ok, had the leaks in the shower but putting a towel down is no hardship (i do this anyway in hotels)

Food - bbq every night, fish, kebabs and we did also eat out for something different occassionally.

Beach - you will need your clogs, as its stoney. 10min walk down.

Trips - Fethiye 45 Lira each way, nice to see some natives and have some authentic food.

Great hotel made special by the helpful staff.

3rd time back at the Alize hotel perfect location close to shops and beach and a free shuttle bus to the nicer beach. Weather you could not fault some days even i had to sit in the shade. Room was cleaned everyday with clean bath towels, rooms very basic but can cope for how often you spend in there. Food was ok n ot the best at times but always something for everyone so you would never starve. Pool area you can not fault always clean and tidy with a waterslide for the children to enjoy but think the adults liked it more. Activities going on around the poolside everyday including water aerobics which is very fun to do. Staff are very friendly there is a shop on site where you can get your daily newspaper everyday (thanks Jack)
Erkan and Bahadir the entertainers work very hard to provide entertainment each night and they do a great job both are lovely and always around if you need anything. Comedy nights are the best you can not help but laugh at them. Met so many nice people on the holiday in all the times we have been and we continue to see them each year.
Will definately return to the Alize Hotel and can not wait to see Erkan, Bahadan and the rest of the staff had a fab holiday.

My boyfriend and I visited this hotel in june this year. It was our first time going to turkey and chose this hotel because of a recommendation of the area and it fitted in with our price range. We were a little worried in case we got there and it wasnt what we were looking for. However it was perfect!

We stayed for a week and our room was lovely (we were worried at first as it was on the ground floor and after other reviews-we were scared it would be closed in) however, the room was perfect and we didnt have any complaints. fresh towels and room cleaned daily!

The food was really really lovely- some nights were the same types of food but there was always a vairety so was nice. besides the strip has some gorgeous resteraunts for a fair price as well as a mid week treat :) breakfast and lunch were also good. Beer was on tap for the majoirty of the day/night so my boyfriend loved it.

The staff were great! felt welcome from the minute we walked in at very early hours of the morning all the way through to when we left. great entertainment at night! and water aerobics in the morning was a laugh and nice way to start the morning. Staff are friendly and are happy to help!

The location- superb whether you want to shop (lots of fake goodies) enjoy the good turkish food or chill with soem cocktails. would highly recommend the beuzz beach bar for food! and the karoke cocktail bar was so much fun and do amazing cocktails- would highly recommend.
we did the seven islands boat trip (organised by the hotel) was definitley worth it- fantastic day out, and had a photographer take pictures of us during the day and then put them on the CD!

we also went for a turkish bath and massage in the hotel and was perfect for our first day when we were tired from the flight- again great service ad great value- would definitley recommend it.

All in all, would definitely recommend this hotel. its taken a while to get round to writing a review but whilst im looking to book for next year- thought i may as well take my time to wrtie :)
