“The good bits and the not so good bits”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We booked here as part of a package. We opted for bed & breakfast. The breakfast has a pretty good selection from a buffet including hot and cold dishes. All the restaurant staff are friendly and the restaurant in the evening serves very good food at good prices too. The hotel pool is nice enough and is maintained to an good standard. The bar tends to be noisy at night with music and guests echoing around the courtyard until late but with the air conditioned rooms at least you can substitute the noise from the bar with the noise of the air con. The room we stayed in definitely had the 'budget' feel about it with a Handle missing from the wardrobe, and only a couple of hangers inside. The bed was okay but the pillows were lumpy and past their best. The safe in the room is £15 a week to hire and is too small for an ipad etc so we opted for locking stuff in our suitcase instead. However, what really goes against the hotel is absolutely terrible cleaning staff. On arrival our room certainly couldn't be described as spotless. Far from it in fact on closer inspection. The bedside drawers were grubby and a suspicious stain on the headboard remained there for two weeks. In the 2 weeks we were there our bedding was only changed after nine days and our top sheet was replaced with a single sheet which isn't much use for a couple. I rang twice to reception for a replacement but eventually had to go to reception myself as having been told 'I'll get the cleaners to sort it out tomorrow" didn't go down to well just when we wanted to go to sleep for the night The bathroom mirror, taps and sink weren't touched and although the cleaners made the bed up everyday and arranged our old towels on the bed they didn't clean anything noticeable. Maybe a quick sweep of the floor at most. Ironic then that our bedding was again changed the day before departure decorated with flowers and towels arranged in heart shapes ready to accept a tip no doubt. My only tip would be... Clean the room please. Would we go back here again? Sadly not. It really does have the potential to be an excellent good value hotel but the lousy cleaners detract from the other good points. As a passer by, you certainly won't be disappointed with the restaurant but as a guest you will be left with the feeling of 'could do better'.

We had booked a week stay at the Montebello Beach Resort. We had arrived in the afternoon after a long coach journey. When we got there they informed us that they have over booked and our room would not be ready until 3 the following day. As we was only staying for a week we just wanted to get settled into our room. We ended up going to Montebello resort a much nicer hotel our room there was lovely, we asked to speak to the manager about this and he was extremely rude to us. As 3 young girls travelling alone we felt like they took advantage at that fact. When we finally checked in the room we was given was fine, had a fridge a reasonable size shower. The receptionist at this hotel was lovely and very helpful. The location of this hotel is good. I would not book this hotel again as what happened at the beginning, we made sure for this not to ruin our holiday and ended up having a fantastic time!! We will be back next year but in a different hotel!!

Me and my wife we booked a room for our honeymoon travel. We artived at the hotel late night but our room was double booked and they redirected us to another otel around. They made a call to a few other hotel but all was full. Then they told us that our reservation is not valid. We found ourselves in the street with suitcases at late night. I do not recommend. Stay away.

Like a previous reviewer we had emailed the hotel to ask for an upper floor room only to be put in probably the worst room in the hotel - 104. We asked to be moved to no avail.

Rooms are small and grubby. Breakfast wasn't great.

There are much better buget hotels in Olu Deniz.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel and to be honest was very very impressed after all of the bad reports we had read about the hotel, the staff were fantastic , from the receptionist right down to the cleaners very helpful and very friendly really made our stay , our room was clean and very adequate , the fridge was very handy for keeping the water cold and the aircon was great and free, the breakfast was what you would expect in Turkey but you could order a full english for just 7 lira which was great value for money, the food that we had in the hotel restaraunt was delicious and the service was great,we personally could not fault this hotel although people will moan about everywhere.
The hotel is situated very close to the beach and the dolmus, their very reasonable transport comes right past the hotel every day and every ten minutes plus you could ring up for a free bus to take you to the lagoon which was like paradise, along the seafront which was well kept and very clean , were plenty of restaraunts with very friendly and accomadating staff and very reasonable prices we ate out nearly every night at some lovely restaraunts and never spent over fourty pounds for food and drinks and a bottle of wine.
The beach is small stones and the sea shelves quite severley as you go in and you are out of your depth within a few feet but the sea was warm, clean and calm, the sunbeds are 6 lira for 2 and the parasol a further 3 but well worth it as it was 37 degreees c while we were there 8th september ,
We will definately be going back next year to the same hotel and can,t wait, the Turkish people are some of the nicest and friendly people i have ever met and i cant wait to go back there.

Room Tip: Ask for a high level room with a balcony.

We have just returned from a one week stay at this Hotel. My husband e-mailed them before we arrived asking for an upper floor room with balcony. When we arrived we were taken down to a ground-level room with balcony which overlooked an untidy garden and an old tabletennis table. It was clean enough and the bed comfy. Maids came in every day and the towels were changed daily but think it was a superficial clean as there was never a smell of bleach. The bathrooms need upgraded as the grout on the tiles is a bit grubby. Air conditioning was very good and was free. There is a mini-bar in the room but don't be misled into thinking it is stocked as in most accomodation in Turkey this is just a fridge. It is great for keeping water etc cold.

We did notice there were some rooms down in the basement level which had no outlook or balconies which would have been awful.

The breakfast was basic Turkish breakfast, but was ok, once we got bored eating the same thing we went up the road to Cousins who do a lovely full English for 7TL. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment.

The pool was small but clean enough and the sunbathing area was a bit cramped. You also had to put your towels out early if you wanted a bed. I don't normally like doing this but some people were out before 8am and then did not come to the pool till about 11am! This is very selfish and inconsiderate!

To sum up, this hotel appears to have repeat clients and maybe the nice rooms with nice balconies are being reserved for them! Would we stay here again? Well it was a cheap week and you really do get what you pay for so no we would rather pay more and stay in better accomodation.

The best bit about this hotel has got to be the location, very close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The staff were pleasant and friendly.

Room Tip: Do not put up with a basement room!

good hotel in a great location and very very good staff, this was our 3rd visit in 3 years and once again we had a great holiday and met some great people. A new world record of a 160 on the water volleyball net was set (if any body can beat this post your score). We had dinner at a different place nearly every night and once again the food was excellent and cheap. this is not a five star hotel so the people who down rate need to take this into account ,but some people only go away to moan about something different and will never be happy.

Room Tip: request a room off the ground floor
