We have travelled for 30 years and have always said we would never return to a hotel we have visited before. However, this was the exception. Having stayed here for a week last year and experienced such a warm welcome from the family, along with the tranquillity of the setting, we simply had to return. For us it just hits the spot for a relaxing week. Yes, the rooms are basic, but clean - all you need to sleep and shower in.

Hotel is ideally situated for trips to Hisaronu, Olu Deniz and Fethiye. Food in the hotel is excellent but there are also some good restaurants within walking distance if you fancy a change.

Thank you to all family and staff at Gorkem for another wonderful holiday.

Got back from the Gorkem on the 14th October after being there for 5 weeks we regularly have been coming to this hotel for the past 5years = we have been here in May, June July Sept and Oct since 2009 and know that depending what time of the season it is, it ranges from being very quiet to noisy it up to you what you want and plan accordingly - There are many people who return year after year and meet up with people they have met before but for want of a better word they are friends and now with facebook keep
in contact at home. yes I think is were the cliques come in -(Please note correct spelling) We have met many people and normally will make conversation with most. The management cannot be blamed for the guests behaviour and when there have been issues I think they sort them out well although some guests might not like the outcome. Ilyas is a good Manager and likes to make all welcome and don't forget he has to run the hotel for the familys income and only has six months a year to make it and the all work hard to keep the hotel running well. We again experienced the apartment being kept clean and if we required any thing it was sorted willingly and quickly we will certainly return again next year. The one comment I would like to make is to
Paul the Evertonian from the Wirral I am John from Liverpool with whom you had a good few conversations with me and my wife.

well let me just say i am quite an experianced traveller who has stayed at some of the best 5star and also travelled with a duffell bag and bag pack and experianced rough .

This hotel is a very very basic hotel , you have a clean bed which personally speaking found it very hard , but after a few days got to sleep soundly every night and at the end of the two weeks never had back ache once and at home i have a memory foam bed and am a regular back pain sufferer.

The apartment when we arrived had clean towels and the rooms were spotlessly clean, we had a kettle , 2 ring hob thing, and some although unmatched cups and plastic plates cutlelry bottle opener found we had everything we needed if we wanted to cook a snack and have a cuppa.

had a table and 3 plastic chairs one which was on its way out and eventually died with my partner sat on it , funny to us but if an elederly or someone infirm was to be on it at the time would not be funny and could have caused serious damage.

There was a couch in the apartment , looking at the next doors there was a couch and two chairs and there was more room , but we were quite satisfied with the space we had.

The bathroom was clean and always hot water , the sink did not drain quickly in the bathroom this was a bit of a pain but no real nightmare.

we bought our own toilet roll as we were provided a loo roll every 3 or 4 days , and for 3 adults wasnt enough .

The cleaners came about 3 times during the holiday to change sheets and towels and to vac and sweep the floor , that is all they did do , i cleaned our toilet and wash basin and washed our table cloth as it wasnt being done , and im not one to sit in dirt and wait till my holidays over to say nobody cleaned the room for 2 weeks, .

there was no plugs in any of the sinks so washing dishes was a bit tricky but we coped.

The price we paid for the room was a pitance , so i didnt expect anything more than basic , as long as it was clean and it is , cheap and cheerful .

to people who slate this place i cant believe it , because its soo cheap to stay here .

As for the clicks who i did find there , yes it was like that , they dint spoil our holiday becuase people who actually believe they are coming to something special here are delusional , its cheap basic , nothing out of the ordinary and yes the family are very nice , but we found them to be nice when we were spending , somedays we wernt given a hello but the regulars were always greeted with a big smile.

Found some of the women to be so up them selves with their gold flashing and thier cheap perfume , i always say goodmorning to all folk but some of them looked at you like they were in the ritz and you had turned up with jeans and trainers on .this is some of the regulars which are here year and year out , and so i wouldnt return here as i find the returning guest at least 80% of them were just to up them selfs.

If you are looking for a clean basic room to lay your head and are travelling a lot and only having an occassional pool day i would recommend, if you wanted a week of not speaking to any one and sitting round the pool with a book , i would recommend ,

but if you like conversation meeting new people i dont recommend.

The food here though is delicious , we ate here a few time and is resteraunt standard , big portions , and freshly cooked could not say anything bad about the food , nor the breakfast which was 12 lira but a fully cooked english and tea or coffe you cant complain , only thing for me im not a marg person and there was no real butter ,expected it really for the price .

The pool which was freezing as it was october was really looked after and clean , went for a couple of swims , very refreshing indeed.

Got a few people placing their towels out in the early hours . pretty pointless really as the hotel was quite empty and beds were readily available, one couple seemed to follow us around and if we sunbathed in a certain place one day their towels were on the beds at dawn the next , very strange .

drinks were reasonably priced although i hate having a glass of coke etc from an open bottle as its not as fizzy as a can and for the price of individual can, but i suppose every business is out to make as much profit as they can .

wouldnt recommend this for kids or young teenagers , nothing to do around this time of year , no activaty in the evenings as its the end of season.

hiseronu , a five min walk to the main road a dolmus into the town for those who cant walk far , or a stroll and your down in twenty mins,

Recommend the market at fetiye, dont recomend the resteraunt yosarolgu? just on the main road . charged me 17 lira for a pint and half of lime and soda and my meal was totally disqusting .

dominos , piano bar , peking chinese and shine highly recommended as places to eat . sams chippy aslo a good chippy if you feeling home sick!!!!

well if you want to ask any questions feel free, oh sleep the cockerals and the mosque were early alarm clocks ie from 430-500am after a few days didnt hear them personally but my partner was awoke many morning , so take ear plugs if you at the back of the hotel.

Room Tip: ask for one of the self catering apartments more room and ask for one in the block away from the bac...

We have just got back from our 2nd holiday this year at the Gorkem, and as always the experience was second to none. We have now stayed at the Gorkem 6 times in the last 5 years and in all that time we have had nothing negative to say about it.
On our 1st arrival in 2009 we were met by Ilyas who took our bags and showed us to our room. Unfortunately we were shown to one of the hotel rooms instead of an apartment, but this was quickly resolved. From our 1st day we were made extremely welcome by Ilyas,Sadik & Shaban and their family and this has carried on through the years. A true Home from Home.
The hotel is set in lovely well kept gardens and split into three separate blocks. We have always stayed in the self catering apartments that are spacious for 2 but would be just as suitable for 4. The rooms are cleaned daily with towels and linen changed in a regular basis.
When we stayed in June / July this year we payed for the air conditioning, unfortunately this wasn't working as it should, but Sadik came to the room to see what he could do. When he found he could not fix it, he immediately called an engineer and by the time we returned to our room at the end of the day it was working.
The restaurant offers a varid range of snacks during the day and a comprehensive menu to choose from for your main evening meal. The bar is the place to meet new people and Ilyas and Sadik are always attentive to your needs. The music is kept fairly low so that you can hold a conversation without the need to shout. The pool table is free to play, and if you don't have anybody to play a game with the " Three Turkish Pool Sharks " Ilyas, Sadik & Shaban are always willing to have a game or 5 with you. Ilyas is the hustler of the 3 and he will let you win a game or two before he beats you in a best of 5, and then tells you to practice more ( with a smile in his face ).
Having read a review by a certain AMY M we asked Ilyas and a couple who stayed at the same time as her what her problem was. It seems that AMY M failed to mention in her review that she was stopped by Ilyas from taking a Local Turkish Lad up to her room for the night, and her use of bad language around the pool area the next day when her Holiday Rep and Ilyas were trying to talk to her. As for her gripe about the dark streets, if you keep to the main road it is well lit, if you do want to use the back roads at night you may want to take a small torch with you, so that you don't fall down a pot hole.
In conclusion, if you want a holiday away from it all in peacefull surroundings, with professional attentive staff, don't pay any attention to the AMY M's of this world, book a week or two at the Gorkem and experience it for yourself.

Just finished a week decided on at last minute, usually come to Turkey in June and September, weather has been fabulous during daytime but a bit chilly at night. The welcome at the Gorgem is always warm, this really is the friendliest hotel in Turkey. As my girlfriend said earlier this week, she couldn't think of any hotel that she would rather stay in.Everything is clean, gardens are amazing and the food is even more amazing.I usually prefer to eat out and about, but I must say that every meal we have had at the Gorgem is just so nice.Sadeek &Shabbam and their wives and Illyus are a great crew,we'll see you again next year, always a warm welcome.

Had a brilliant fun-filled holiday for 2 weeks at a bargain price, made all the better by
the friendly hotel staff who did everything they could to ensure our comfort. It's all been said before ... the hotel grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent and competitively priced, the rooms are basic but totally adequate, there is so much to do in the local/surrounding area etc. especially enjoyed the jeep safari trip and the local water park. loved shopping at local markets and grabbing a bargain. never had a bad meal anywhere and so much variety, no rain in sight. only complaint from me was the mosquitos who definately left their mark on my poor legs!

Gorkem hotel is definitely worth a visit and then you'll probably visit again, just like we have.
Our second time here and we were not disappointed.
Gorkem is a lovely family run hotel. The staff really do make the difference. They are so friendly, attentive & work very hard to ensure that our/your stay is a good one. From the moment you arrive to the minute you leave, they always make you feel welcome.
The rooms are lovely and clean, with towel changes everyday. The food and drink is great and very reasonably priced.
Will definitly be back again next year! Would recommend other people to give it a try.

Keep up the good work guys and see you again soon!
