“Hotel you will never forget”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

This boutique hotel experience is more like visiting your rich cousins in their Ancient Greek house in Turkey where they want to meet your every need. We joked they seemed to offer what we needed even before we said anything but were never intrusive. The family is very present and for English speakers, the daughter Birjan is so helpful. The family has restored this seaside home and then added matching adjoining stone cottages in the garden. We stayed in the main house in a glorious large room that opened out to a staircase ,the boardwalk and harbour. The location is excellent. We arrived at the end of a long tour of Turkey and were happy to park the car and enjoy the fishing village by foot. You literally walk out the front to all the harbour restaurants, boardwalk, shops, cafés, etc. Afternoons we often lounged in the beautiful back gardens where we also chose to have breakfast each day. The breakfast was unbelievable with homemade pastries and biscuits, tomatoes, olives, eggs. The family dog strolls over to see if you will give her any treats.
An unforgettable experience! This is the sort of place one would go to recoup from anything in your life. Thanks to this family for sharing their dream with everyone

Room Tip: We loved the front room of the old house but the cottages which were smaller were cute and peaceful.

A boutique hotel with a difference. Location perfect, short stroll into the fishing town to bars restaurants and shops. Family run hotel where nothing was too much trouble.Daughter Birjan, speaks perfect English and is a delight.all the staff are helpfull efficient and kind. The rooms are decorated to a very high standard with a " Shabby Chic" opulence. The garden is beautifully maintained and breakfast could be served on the lawn if you so desired. Can't recommend the Lola highly enough.

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect !

We stayed at Lola 38 in September as part of a month long journey through Turkey. As we stepped through the garden gate on our arrival we knew it was going to be something special. Small and intimate, Lola 38 is run by a delightful family which includes Daisy the beautiful Golden Retriever, and it is conveniently located across the road from the beach. Our room was beautifully decorated and our travelling companions had a room with equal charm though quite different in style. We were able to relax in the beautiful garden before heading off to a restaurant recommended by Bircan, which we all enjoyed immensely. Foca itself is a fascinating little town and the nightlife on the waterfront proved to be quite lively. An early morning swim before a substantial breakfast on the terrace prepared us for our onward journey, though we would have gladly stayed longer in Lola 38.

Room Tip: Our travelling companions had a room with a mezanine bedroom accessed by a number of stairs so if mo...

Lola 38 is a charming, family-run boutique hotel located in the small fishermen town of Foça. It is located in an ancient Greek house with lots of charm. The rooms are opulently decorated and full of lovely attentions and details. The room where we stayed (the Pink Room) felt like a grown-up version of a doll house -- in the best way possible. The bed was delightful, as was the room itself. High ceilings, wonderful bathroom, view on the water. But the best part came the next day, with the extremely lavish Turkish breakfast (complimentary) served outside on the front terrace facing the beach. There was sigara börek, and sucuk, and many more Turkish delicacies, not to mention unexpected Western additions, such as pancakes. The best breakfast we've had in all of our trip. Our hosts were also very welcoming. They take their business to heart, and the results prove their commitment.

Special note pertaining to the destination: Foça is not the most diversity-friendly destination. My Haitian boyfriend, who had no problems whatsoever in other Turkish cities, was rudely stared at and heckled in Foça, mainly by young men currently training at the Commando (Special Ops) school at the edge of town. Just FYI.

Room Tip: The Pink Room was fabulous. Glorious en-suite bathroom and sea views.

I have been this otel for 3 days.
I wish it would be longer.
A family is in charge of everything.
The hotel is on the beach. Only there is the lovely main road between sea and hotel.
The hotel is an traditional stone Foca House renovated and decorated so delightful.
Has only five rooms. Don't think about in which to stay because all off them are wonderful. Our trip was so sudden and could be able to reserve the room lately therefore we stayed in 2 different rooms according to their avalibility. There is a huge garden where you can have sunbath or just rest while reading your book.
If you don't want to swim in front of the hotel there are services you can easily take and within 5 minutes way you can reach 2 or 3 alternatives such as Port Beach or Hanedan Beach.
The service, lovely Aegean breakfeast, hospitality are all wonderfull.

Over 120 years old, this antique Greek-style stone house was the romantic setting featured in a recent Turkish movie “İlk Aşk / First Love” (2006), which caught our attention and led us to the picturesque coastal town of Foca for our honeymoon. By chance, we discovered that it was a family acquaintance, Bahri Bey, who had recently acquired this house, and following an extensive four-year renovation, transformed it into a delightful six-room Boutique Hotel where old meets new. The vintage look and feel of this distinguished villa is extremely well conserved, while the rooms and common areas are decorated with a modern, stylish and whimsical sense. The charming Green Room (honeymoon suite) with the enchanting en-suite living area, and the stunning view of the Aegean Sea literally steps away from the suite’s private entrance, was our pick for our romantic get away. All six rooms are exquisite, with each having their own character and charm (and angelic private bathrooms), and cater to the different guests’ needs, whether families, couples or single travellers. The attention to detail that the owners place in providing a truly personable experience to their guests becomes apparent in the cleanliness of the rooms, the freshly cut flowers carefully placed inside the rooms and the staircase, the heavenly homemade breakfast served on the sidewalk-terrace facing the sea, and the family treatment the hosts give to their guests making them feel at home and secure without intruding. Bahri Bey’s passion for sharing his knowledge about the town’s history and ancient Greek architecture is noteworthy, and his tremendous hospitality is demonstrated in simple gestures such as driving guests around town or walking along with them to help run errands or catch daily excursions. The affectionate family dog Daisy, a six-year-old Golden Retriever is the perfect companion for morning swims and lazy afternoon naps in the backyard. In short – Lola 38 is the perfect place to enjoy a magical escape in a timeless beauty run by a sweetheart family.

We stayed at the green room (suite) with my wife for three nights and had wonderful experience. It had colourful but quite tasty decoration and antique furniture, high ceilings, and excellent location within Foca. We spent a very good time even by just sitting in the living section of the room and watching and appreciating the ornaments, the colors, the furniture and the objects. The room also had separate entrance with marble stairs and it was such a pleasure to sit at those stairs and read or watch the sea about ten meters away or the people passing walking narrow street or sidewalk in front of the building. Owner/operator quite friendly and helpful. Very pleasant to listen to him about his experience with and passion for this building. We really wish we could stay longer but the room was booked. The only noteworthy drawback was the limited storage space despite the room being quite large (60 sqm divided into three quarters) but given the other huge positives it did not really matter. Well done Bahri Bey!
