“Perfect!”
Reviewed October 11, 2009

Just returned from a 10 day holiday and the title says it all. I have been lucky to have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and can honestly say that the service here is the best I have ever encountered. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that you had what you wanted. There was a good mix of guests and a lot more brits than I was expecting from previous reviews.

This was our first trip to Turkey and our first AI. Went DIY with good BA flights from Gatwick and a hotel pickup at Antalya. Had booked 2 standard terraced rooms for 4 adults and were delighted to receive an upgrade to a triplex terrace with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and a large living/dining room. Flat screen TV's and mini bars in every room - fab. The area where the terrace rooms are located is beautiful and very quiet with a pool bar serving the area. The hotel grounds are vast and immaculately kept and it is very easy to find a quiet place to relax if that is what you are after - hammocks and bean bags on a large lawned area for example.. The areas around the pools are livelier with the animation team laying on various activities throughout the day but with no pressure to join in. All in all the hotel and grounds are a delight and everywhere is kept spotlessly clean.

Now for the food and drink. Where to start! The main buffet restaurant has a lovely outside area overlooking a small lake with a fountain which was our favourite for lunch. The range of food is vast, wonderfully fresh salads, soups, freshly cooked bbq meat, prepared meat fish and vegetable dishes, amazing cakes and deserts - everything beautifully presented. The staff were fantastic, constantly clearing dishes and refilling glasses, always with a smile. If you don't fancy the buffet there are 2 snack bars near the pools serving kebabs, pizzas, hotdogs etc from 12.00 - 4.00 and then cakes, waffles, biscuits from 4.00 - 6.00. The is also the the Gozmele tent serving savoury snacks from 11.00 - 6.00. Oh, and lets not forget the patisserie open for coffee and cakes 4.00- midnight just in case you're still peckish! During our stay there was a large conference which packed out the buffet one lunchtime but they opened the Aqua Bistro as well to take the pressure off so this did not really cause a problem. The Aqua Bistro is also an adult only option in the evening but has a much limited choice compared to the main buffet. As there were no school aged children there during our stay this was not an issue. The bistro opens again at midnight serving light meals and sandwiches. We were lucky to get bookings for the A La Cartes for most evenings during our stay and the food and presentation were excellent. The Asian and Steak were our favourites - used both twice. Many of the dishes served were swanky London restaurant standard.

The drink selection in the bars is fantastic, branded drinks if requested, speciality coffees, cognac and a good selection of bottled beer. Service was again fantastic - you could barely put a glass down without it being refilled. The pool bar is fun in the evenings when there is music until midnight. After that it's off to the lobby bar for a nightcap but beware - the late barman here pours lethal drinks!!

The hotel was also showing live English football in Edwards Bar (which was otherwise shut) and even laid on bottles of beer on ice to help yourself to - and then a manager appears to make sure that the beer selection is to your liking -how cool is that!

So, in summary, we had a fantastic holiday at Susesi and would return in a heartbeat. I would definately recommend the terrace rooms which, if booked directly with the hotel are cheaper than the standard hotel rooms - don't understand that. And do try the A La Carte restaurants. And go easy in the late night bar if you want any chance of making breakfast.

I wont repeat the earlier reviews, except to highlight the following -
i) The process for booking the a-la-carte restaurants is really bad. I wasnt going to waste 30mins a day of my holiday booking one, and every time I walked past between 9.30 and 10.15 there was someone complaining.
Saying that I met a couple who booked a table for us on my last night at the chineese, and it was well worth it. Great Meal, super service.
ii) If you ask for a drink, you get their basic choice. But if you ask what you can get as 'standard' the choice widens. you can get Becks or Miller bottled Beer, Red Label Whisky etc etc
iii) If you are there without chidren, and are willing to sacrifice a huge choice of food, for a limited selection in a quieter restaurant with great service, then go to the Bistro restaurant for your dinner. Service is superb, and is far more relaxed than the 'bun' fighting in the main restaurant.
iv) This hotel is big you are lucky if you see the same people more than 2 times in your holiday ! Same with staff, there are so many of them !
I went to Xanadu, two years ago, and personally for a single person or a couple, I would recommend Xanadu. Susesi is great for those with familiies or your chidren, so much to do, so many places to go, such a variety of food and places to eat.
You at Xanadu, you get wider choice of drinks, its smaller so you have a better chance to meet people and the staff are more friendly because you see them more often.
You also get laundrey included.
To end on a high, Susesi is very clean, staff very friendly, and despite everyone blaming the Russians, many of them are actually from other Eastern European countries, like Albania, Kazakstan, Roumania etc etc
I would recommend the hotel to anyone, and I had a great time, but for me, Xanadu wins the contest.

stayed here Sept 27th to Oct 4th,2009. first of all the room we got was on the 6th floor, with a great view over the lake villas.Room was fine, air con wasnt too clever though.
Check in was quick enough, got our towel cards and room cards quickly.
Food was brilliant, had no problems at all, we only used the main buffet as there was plenty enough for us here, tons of choice from meat, fish, pasta, soup, salad, whatever you could think of it was there, and delicious. The desserts were out of this world,so much to choose from, and all very tasty! Didnt know you could have so many kinds of desserts!
The buffet wasnt busy at all, had no probs getting a table at all, even when a conference was on. Now, as for the conference, well it didnt really interfere with our holiday apart from an evening time when they completely took over the entertainment, which was solely for them, nothing for us, we couldnt join in, and we felt second rate compared to them...this needs to be sorted. The entertainment was good when we did have it, and the shows were fine.
Drinks were fine, had ice in ours all week and no bother. Plenty to choose from ,lots of bottled beers and spirits, and plenty of soft drinks, from Pepsi to fresh orange.
Had no problem getting sunbeds, we sunbathed on the pier a few days, around the main pool a few days, on the beach another, and all places were fine, plenty of beds.
The beach was fine to walk along, you can walk up and down either way past the other hotels, the water was nice and warm, and it was pretty pebbly by the shoreline, but still a lovely beach.
Snacks were freely available most times of the day, everything from crisps and nuts with your drinks, to pancakes, cookies, cakes, kebabs, burgers, pizzas, and lots more. Youre never going to go hungry! Plenty of places to sit and drink and eat, service very good in all places. Try the bar on floor 4, its very nice in there, has a great view over the resort.
The lobby bars good as well, with a great terrace overlooking the sea and surrounding area.
All in all, a great holiday, we didnt spend anything all week, nobody pesters you for tips, we would love to go back, all inclusive means just that here, you could eat and drink 24 hours if you wanted to, staff were friendly, and now its back to the diet! Believe me, you WILL put on weight if you come here!
Thanks Susesi, we miss you already!

I went away with my parents, sister and her boyfriend, uncle and aunty and best friend to the Susessi and it was by far the best hotel I have ever been too! As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the lovely staff, and also upgraded. We originally booked for two double bed standard rooms, a twin room and a sea view room. But 6 of us ended up being moved into the hugeee Royal suit rooms. They are amazing, with two huge double bed rooms and a living room all opening onto a balcony with an infinity pool overlooking the beautiful hotel.

This being a family hotel and being only 17 me and my friend where worried about how many teenagers would also be staying at this hotel. Supprisinly we met over 20 people from ages 14-20. The hotel provided a large amount of entertainment for children and teenagers, Disco's, pool activities, watersports, shows every evening, music at the bars, especially the G-Disco!!! It can be pretty poor if you don't have a group of friends to go with and the music isn't the best, but they do play 70% English music :). They also have the party on the pier which also was lots of fun but do not wear thin heels! As you tend to fall down the gaps haha. I missed the foam party by one night, but i heard from all of my friends who went that it was so much fun!

I went on quite a few trips whilst in Turkey and to be honest, they arn't really for teenagers unless you like being reallllllllly lazy for a whole day. I went on a boat trip which just went random places after drinking the night before, which wasn't a good idea at all. Due to the fact I also suffer from sea sickness and the boats are unbelieveably rocky! I went on another boat trip which was very similar to the first one (this boat wasn't as rocky though!) which again just took you round, stopped off at a beach for an hour etc etc, the next trip I went on was to Belek town, we stopped off on the way to a waterfall. Which was nice, but it was literally a 10 minute stop, then we stopped off at a clothing store. Pretty much a Turkish version of TKMAXX. Thenn we went into Belek were we aloud to just mooch around the markets. This trip was okay, but walking around the market in that heat is almost unbearable! The last trip I went on was to the Turkish baths. Now that was an experience and a half! It was amazing, be warned though, ladies you do have to take off your bikini tops infront of about 20 women and the Turkish women do not let you say no! They also pull your pants down and wedgie you :).

Overall I had the most amazing holiday, food is amazing, entertainment is amazing, staff were fantastic. Just everything was beyond brilliant and I would definitely recommend it to anyone :).

Have just spent a week at the Susesi and definately 5 star standard, the room was excellent and cleaned to a very high standard.

The complex was superb with lots of choices of places to eat and drink during the day and the bar by the swimming pool was very good you did not have to wait at all for a drink and the staff were very friendly.

Our main moan is the way they book the a la carte restaraunts, it was a shambles, you had to go to the guest relations desk at 10.00 a.m ( very unfriendly)and take a ticket , not what we expect from a five star hotel, and then queue at the desk of where you wanted to book your table, so the ticket meant nothing you still had to take a chance, however we did get to eat in the Italian,Mexican and Asian restaraunts and they were all excellent,we did notice empty tables in all these restaruants so not sure they are getting the bookings right.

The other moan is towels on sunbeds, we did not get to sit by the pool all week and even on the beach we struggled to get a bed, had to search for spare ones and put them together.

We would recommend the patisserie it was lovely and very tranquil to sit and relax with a lovely cake and coffee or tea.

Would we go back, no but overall a lovely hotel, but they need to sort the booking of the a la carte and also stop the guests putting the towels non the beds.

If you have preconceived ideas about "all inclusive" hotels etc , then forget them. This place is fantastic. There are no wrist bands to wear, there is no queueing for drinks and the service is impeccable. The buffet style meals have an unbelievable choice and you can even go into the a la carte restaurants and be treated like VIPs as part of the all inclusive package.
There is loads of space around several pools to sunbathe and there are no shortage of beds at any time we were there. There are snack bars and little treats for you everywhere from a full patisserie cafe to snack bars and several bars and even a bar on the beach in front of the resort (all part of the all inclusive package).
We would definitely go back and if we had known about the quality here we would have booked a 2 week holiday instead of 1 week..
