“Super Hotel So Much to Do!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012 via mobile

Really good hotel with super facilities, there is always something to do, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, my only complaints would be that the food for me in the main buffet restaurant was not as good as the rest of the hotel and the prices in the shops in the main building were outrageous, I presume these prices were aimed at the Russian visitors. Food in the a la carte restaurants was much better, in the main buffet restaurant I felt that the food although plentiful and varied was left to stew in the warming dishes, often by the time I got to my table to eat my food was almost cold. These were minor niggles and overall the hotel was fantastic. We will be coming back next year which we do not do at many hotels.

Dear Leroyr6,

thank you for your good review, With regret we had to read, that you wasn't satisfied with our food. The selection and the taste of our food will always change and improved for our guests.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to find for every guest the perfect taste. Our Kitchen chef is always pleased to adopted and implement your wishes and suggestions. Please feel free to contact him by your hopefully next visit with your ideas or suggestions. We will forward your comment that the food was not always hot immediately to the responsible department, please apologize for this.

In our stores only the best and most exclusive products are offered and this is reflected in the prices. Hotel prices are always higher than the prices in a supermarket, you will find this in all hotels around the world.

Thanks again for your review and we hope to welcome you soon as our guest.

Warm greetings from Belek

I spent extraordinary vacation in Calista in May 2011 with my colleges. There is no words to discribe how top class this hotell is. Area is beautiful, spotlessly clean, hotel is gorgeous, rooms are spaceous and very very clean, restaurant - fabulous, intertainment great and very various for every evening. Service was quick and extremely friendly. I have to admit this hotel is THE best I have ever been, and I just cant wait to go back. Other guests too were very international and very polite to everyone. To take minivan and go for small shopping for change in small village called Kadrje took just for 15 minutes. You could do some serious bargain there too.. be brave and have fun - something you really cant experience at home. Nobody bargain in our stores :( By the way, if you are golf player - there are some really good golf fields around, just check it out.

Room Tip: Choose that hotel and you are really pleased!

We normally go for B&B at hotels in order to enjoy different restaurants in the evening but there was no real option here but to go All Inclusive and we therefore had no real knowledge of what "all inclusive" really meant.

At the Calista it means you can leave money/credit cards in the room safe, forget about tipping waiters, leave bags around with impunity as there is nothing in them worth nicking (not that the clientele at the Calista would seem to be the sort to do that!) and "spend" on coffees, afternoon tea and cake and cocktails before dinner (I worked my way down the cocktail list to the amusement of the waitresses) without thinking about it.

Wi-fi is available all over the site (as it should be in every 5* star hotel) and was reliable. The only penny-pinching was the minibar - 1 bag of crisps, one bag of peanuts, one kitkat-type bar per room, replenished daily if necessary, but why only 1 when the room sleeps at least 2 people?

The food was plentiful, varied and good. There is one island in the main restaurant of nothing but olives. Another island caters for babies and small children with pureed vegetables and fruit and plastic plates. High chairs aplenty. If you really can't find something you fancy at each meal then you probably ate too much at the meal before! We arrived late at night and found the 11pm to 12.30 supper extremely welcoming, not having eaten since lunchtime.

The staff, without exception, were friendly and smiling. We did not find anyone without an adequate command of English, despite the majority of guests being German or Russian. Cleanliness was exceptional everywhere.

The only slight drawback was its location - you needed a taxi to go anywhere but they were always waiting at the main gate.

Thoroughly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Calista. The rooms are great, the pools and sun beds excellent. The entertainment's staff are all friendly and are very good with children. The pool bar has two of the best bar men ever! The food is generally very good. The a la carte restaurants are worth the extra 10 euros, the Turkish and Italian being the best of them. The whole experience is not directed towards British taste as we were definitely in the minority. This meant that a few things were not quite right, such as crisps rather than tortilla chips in the south American restaurant. These things apart, we had a great time, would come back again and recommend to friends. We have put a
5 for value as we feel that the price we paid for our package from Thomson's was really good value.

Just returned after 11 nights at the Calista which proved to be relaxing, hassle free and great value for money in stylish 5 star surroundings. We took my father on his first trip to Turkey and his feedback to family is that the hotel far exceeded his expectations and he stays in many 5 start hotels across the world.

Quality is key in this property - from service, furnishings to food. The 5 star experience started on arrival and continued throughout the holiday. The design and architecture has the wow factor creating an immediate impression.

Pros:
Spacious well maintained grounds
Moderm spacious rooms with LCD TV, rainfall shower and Iron and ironing boards in rooms
Great position in building 3 linked to main building with superb view.
Many options for food and snacks throughout the day. Paletable for every taste
Premium brand drinks and good service and multiple bars to choose from
Can book a la cartes on the day and in advance with guest relations at any time. We never had to queue and did not experience any problems.
A la carte quality is consistent and high. We ate in every one apart from the Fish restaurant but only because my husband is not a fan of fish. The Turkish was fabulous. 10 euros per person but worth it as it is a welcome respite from buffet and crowds. Note that the Mexican is a set menu.
Special surprise of cake and champagne on birthday (twice) in Room and in Asian restaurant!
Room spotlessly clean and always with a genuine smile daily
Great sun loungers - padded and towelled. Plenty available on the beach and by the pools even at 10.30 in morning.
Entertainment and activities available throughout the day and evening.
More English in this hotel compared to other hotels we have stayed in in Belek, therefore staff more familiar with English phrases and able to communicate more effectively.
Constantly refurbishing and maintaining hotel to a high standard on a daily basis
Great communication pre arrival and post arrival. All requests were accommodated.

Con:
1. Not overly important however, it is worth mentioning that the TV channels are mainly the BBC news for the English. Found american sitcom and sine gold channel as alternatives. (Would be great if there was an option to tune in other channels according to nationality for broader viewing)
2. Observed non guests coming off the beach and sitting down to use facilities and eat food and drink etc. We know they were non guests because they asked the towel attendant if they could come in to look around and he waved them in. We watched this on 3 seperate occasions on 3 separate days. We would suggest that this policy is reviewed and policed as per Maxx Royale given the quality of the establishment.

We were delighted with our stay at this property. We travel to Turkey every year for the last few years and have stayed in the Kempinski Dome, Gloria Serenity, Amara Dolce Vita, Mardan Palace and Maxx Royale. We would highly recommend this hotel and will be encouraging family to visit this hotel next year. Would recommend September October to get the true experience.

Thank you to the team for making the holiday special.

Room Tip: Main building or building 2 or 3. Request pool view in advance
