As I live in Russia and am married to a Russian lady we travel to Turkey a lot and we have stayed at many resorts including the so called best resorts in turkey. Until we found Calista we then had no need to stay anywhere else. We have stayed there more than 10 times now and we also send relatives there it is perfect in pretty much every way, we just got back two days before after a two week stay and yet again magic! I was talking with abut there and he said "you know I keep looking for things that are wrong here but I find nothing" exactly right, great rooms, great staff, great food, fabulous grounds and an Italian restaurant to die for! I saw several reviews saying the hotel staff don't speak English which is not true, all the Russian staff speak good English, Turkish and English as far as I saw. One of the main things you notice when you visit more than once is that most of the staff never change they are happy and they always recognize regular visitors. A truly great resort and I would say don't waste your time looking at other places just book Calista and you will have a fantastic holiday, hassle free just good quality and relaxing, exactly what you want!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and you will probably get it

This fall, my husband and I were in kalista. The rooms are nice, but no-animation, the staff does not understand either Russian or German. 5 words anglish are learned and that is.Deutsche and Russian tourists can not understand with the staff . October the quay bar is not warking.Aquqpark not worked very often. A food-for terrible food in Turkish hotel i not eat. I was in other hotels, but Calista food really is not nice, nor varied. A eatingconcept is terrible_ Te beach is good. But the sea is not klear. From hotel provided transportation to the village and must hire a taxi which is expensive. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends and I went back there again.

Me and my wife went to this hotel two times in 2011 - one week in april and five days for New year.
Hotel and amenities: the architecture and layout of this hotel is unusual - the hotel consists of a number of circular buildings, clustered around the main pool in the centre, without any straight line. The hotel’s private beach is large and clean. The rooms were clean and huge. The staff there spoke perfect English, were very warm and would do anything to help. Checking in and out was painless.
Food and beverages: The main restaurant had a medium variety of food of medium quality, but with a polite and friendly staff ; anyway, the food was a negative bubble for this excellent resort - they should change the cook.
Daily entertainment and night life: unfortunately, both times we were at this hotel in extraseason, but the daily and evening entertainment was nice; as an exception, in the new years eve night there was a lot of turkish music - too much, very loud, tasted only by their connationals - it was very unpleasant for foreigners; also they have 4 tennis courts, a jogging lane, a large indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi, a very well equiped fitness room, so there are a lot of activities for your free time...
Overall, the Calista is a very enjoyable place to stay.

Room Tip: try to get a room in the main building by writing in advance to the reception

We went to this hotel for 2 weeks in August. The hotel overall is big, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent (for an all-inclusive) so long as you don't ask for a fresh eggs to be cooked, anyone would have thought I'd just murdered the chef's mother after requesting one (sorry cook's mother). Frankly we didn't have a fault with the hotel however, the staff leave a lot to be desired with the except of Rapit (found in the bar) who was very obliging.

For us the problem we had was with the guests. OMG the Russians' (or whatever nationality they are) were a sight to be seen, it was like being in a hotel full of Eastern European porn stars who are stuck in the 1980's - men included. The entertainment was abysmal, pole dancing and podium dancing is not ideal for a hotel which promote's family entertainment, having said that the Russians did take there children to watch - very inappropriate. I should also mention the disco's at night go on until at least 2 am & are very, very loud.

This hotel could be 5* if the management were to implement the dress code, upgrade the entertainment to 5* not porn* standards, implement the NO children under 12 round the relax pool and teach the staff how to smile, unfortunately there is nothing which can be done about the manners of guest but the staff is another matter.

Overall go if you're over 30 & still wish to go on a 18 - 30's holiday. The rating I have given this hotel is for the hotel alone, plenty of potential. Oh and take Euro's not Turkish Lira.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building its furthest away from the Disco's (not far enough).

We've been in Turkey, this time we chose Calista: very clean, impressive lobby, real music evening, heating outside pool, the beach is good, a la carte - good, but we find some disappointing - no heating in the rooms in 3 main building /it was cold/, no enough variety food, and only 1 small table with fresh salads, some staff was unqualified, we feel sometimes dully/ animation was unnoticeable/, very small and expensive shop area, our room was noisy.
Actually we expected more for this value.

Room Tip: rooms in the main buildings on the north side are noisy and cold/in october/

My boyfriend and I spent a week at the Calista Luxury Resort in late September/early October, and found it on the whole to be an excellent place to stay.

Probably the Calista’s biggest strength is its architecture and layout. This is unusual in that the hotel consists of a number of circular buildings, clustered around the main pool in the centre, which is of an undefined shape that reaches in and around them. The lack of straight lines lends the whole complex a seamless, harmonious feel – it sounds a little bit crazy but it did make a difference! It also means that you are never far away from anything you need. The hotel’s private beach is also very pleasant, not exactly white sands but large and clean. The water was fine to swim in, but often silted with underwater visibility restricted.

Our room was fantastic, always spotlessly clean (as was the whole hotel) and really quite huge. It had everything you could need, including a comfortable bed, loads of TV channels and a balcony with a pleasant view over the pool. One small gripe was that the mini-bar only stocked beer and a few soft drinks. this was a minor issue, however, as the hotel bars were plentiful and well-stocked.

Our experience with the food offered by the hotel was mixed. We were very happy with the self-service restaurant, which had a very wide range of good food (including lots of yummy baklava and other Turkish desserts) that seemed to cater to the three main groups of guests: Russians, Germans, and British (all of whom, by the way, we found to be very polite and well-behaved). Staff were on hand to serve drinks, and were always impeccably polite and friendly, though there was a marked lack of them every breakfast time, when we often ended up having to wait until the end of our food before we could get anything to drink.

We also tried out most of the à la carte restaurants, and sadly were only really satisfied with the Turkish one. The food there was superb, but the others never quite got it right: the oriental fusion restaurant served spring rolls with soggy pastry, and as an Italian speaker I had a good laugh at the Tarzan Italian on the Italian restaurant’s menu, where the food was also quite strange – to give just a couple of examples. However, the meals we had there were all perfectly edible, and served courteously in a pleasant setting.
The all-inclusive wine, both red and white, was a bit rough, although the house wine in the a la carte restaurants was of better quality. Other drinks such as spirits were known brands and perfectly drinkable.
Not really being the types to try out the organised evening entertainment (apart from a sneaky dance at the 70s, 80s and 90s disco after having spent some time trying out the bars ;) ), we can’t really comment on that. However, we did get a little annoyed at the handling of daytime activities, as on several occasions the hotel advertised them as being at a certain time, only to tell us they had been cancelled or rescheduled when we turned up. It seemed it would have only taken a little bit of joined-up thinking to avoid this frustration. Our fun on the really great waterslides also came to an end when I jarred my leg on the floor of the pool at the bottom, because it was too shallow. Considering I am only 5’3”, that is downright dangerous.
I would say avoid the temptation – and it is a real one – to spend your entire trip in the hotel, by the pool or beach, and plan some excursions. The Ancient Roman town and amphitheatre at Aspendos is just stunning, especially the amphitheatre which is mind-boggling in scale and incredibly well-preserved. There isn’t any public transport that you can feasibly take from the hotel, so you are pretty much obliged to use the car rental service that you can book in the lobby. We found the car rental service to be a mixed bag. Initially they did not have a driver, saying we had to book a day in advance, but when they heard it was our last day, they suddenly conjured up a driver. Negotiating a price involved old-style haggling. The driver also did not seem to be able to find the cheapest car park. We found 5 TL per person (not per car) at one of the tourist sites to be steep for essentially a dusty open space.

Finally, I should add that the service in reception was always outstanding. The staff there spoke perfect English, were very warm and would do anything to help. Checking in and out was painless. We were also pleased with the Thomson service, who checked us in quickly at Gatwick and as part of premium service picked us up at Antalya airport by taxi.

Overall, the Calista has a few areas where it needs to pull its socks up, but is nevertheless a very enjoyable place to stay.
