This was our fist stay at the Riu Belek and this area of Turkey. I travelled with my daughter and 2 grandchildren. Had a wonderful greeting at reception on arrival with refreshing cocktail drinks. Had a problem with our sleeping arrangements as there were no twin beds so my daughter ended up sleeping with one of the children, which was a nuisance but not a major problem as the room was really nice and always well maintained. Slightly poor on the toiletries for a 5 star as there were no top ups. The food was outstanding at all of the restaurants, and the choice was unbelievable. the kids really enjoyed been able to get what they wanted and help themselves to cold drinks from the machine. The guest relation manager Rida was second to none, and always checking that everything was Ok. The facilities around the hotel were excellent, the kids loved Riuland with the waterslides and the lifeguards were really attentive, but very good with the children, playing jokes with them on the slides. The toilets around the site were the cleanest I have ever seen and the attendant made different flowers patterns on the marble counter top between the sinks with fresh flowers every day. My only complaint with this hotel was the entertainment, or lack of it. The animation team spent most of the day prancing around dressing up in strange clothing and entertaining themselves. The evening entertainment was very poor and rarely were any announcements made in English. One show was close to obscene, whilst the animation team was doing a take on Freddie Mercury. The kids mini disco was pathetic and we timed it one night and it lasted for 8 minutes, despite there been loads of children there during October half term. Apart from the entertainment this hotel had everything you needed for a great family holiday and there was no need to go out of the complex. We did go to the local market at Kadriye. for half a day and took a taxi which was 10 euros return, but beware they drop you off outside a local shop which you are ushered into...obviously they all get kick backs, but it is worth it compared with the bus fare if there
are 4 of you and you can be firm and say that you don't want to but in the shop, of course unless you want to !
