“Above average - not for couples”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2014

A paradise for children, and thus for families with children. The papy club girls were doing a fantastic job all along the day, kept kids occupied. It was amazing to see a running child almost everywhere in the resort .

The only intimate places for couples are a la carte restaurants. However, beware that the service is very slow there.

Guest’s composition: 70% Russians, 10-15% German, 5-10% British, 5-10% Turkish, etc. Most of the reception people and animators were also Russian.

The hotel decoration is very old but a renovation is announced for 2015. Considering the actual condition of the rooms and amenities, this is a must.

The rooms were spacious and clean. If you do not want to be disrupted in the morning, no one fills the freezer later on. Turkish guests receive free newspaper in the morning, a good point.

The dining hall was like a high school canteen, very noisy with children's shouts and cries. You only want to eat and leave. There were too many food choices (I think more than necessary) so everybody can find something to eat. However, as a Turkish guest, I can easily say that most of the food was not delicious.

The atmosphere of the spa was not welcoming and relaxing. Bowling room was closed. Billiards room equipment was in a bad condition.

We did not like most of the night shows, they were very simplistic. The exception was Moscow Children Circus. Daytime animations were numerous and sufficient. Animators were really motivated.

The resort has the most crowded sea side comparing the neighborhood. Pebbles at the shore make your access difficult.

In sum, our holiday in Zeugma was not bad at all, but as a childless couple, we will not come back.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2014

I'll try to offer an organised, in depth review, as we perceived it in august 2014.
LOCATION: 35km from Antalya airport - transfer will last 30-45 minutes, depending on other persons' hotel location (we had a pickup shuttle bus service from the travel agency). It's practically on the beach, first row, very good
CHECKIN: very fast and helpful. Our luggage were taken directly to our room, we were asked if we'd like something to drink etc
ROOMS: we stayed in block 1, 3rd floor. Room was quite large, huge bathroom, a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table, nice view of the sea over the trees, not 180°, but partial view. Room had one large bed and another one smaller (we didn't use it and didn't understand why was there). Flat screen TV, minifridge restocked every day (2 beers, 2 water bottles, some juices), bathrobes, slippers, seif, tea or coffee, overall everything you need
BEACH: quite small and crowded, many sunbeds almost glued to each other covered by some plastic tilts for shade. There are almost no seashells, but stones, small and big ones, as the sand is not natural, it is brought from Egypt (so we were told). The entrance in the water is difficult, with these rocks on the bottom, and you literally make 3-5 steps and that's it - it is 1,5-1,6m deep, so ... if you don;t know to swim, you have 3 metres available. For the swimmers though, they have build a kind of plastic artificial island at around 25 metres from shore - you can swim, climb it, take a tan there and swim back. The water is not so clean at some times...we didn't notice someone to do something regarding that matter...
POOLS: There are 2 pools: one in the front of the hotel - main activity pool and one in the back - cooler and more suitable for swimming. The main front pool's water temperature was so high that almost you cannot cool youself in it! The other pool was our favourite for cooling (btw, the temperature in august could peak 50° and above - we fortunately had a max of 41°). Anyway, the pools are very clean and well maintained. There are also 2 water slides available for your fun, but only 1h30 in the morning and 1h30' in the afternoon. There is also a small pool for little kids, that is covered (it's outside, but in shade). The toilets in pools area are very clean and well maintained. Although there are signs that say "please do not reserve, there are enough sunbeds", at 8.00 am the best seats are already covered with towels...so, if you wish a good spot - RESERVE it!The main pool is 1.42m deep and the other one is 1,40m
RESTAURANTS: the main restaurant is quite big, many tables inside and many outside on the terrace. Although, it could be difficult at peak times to find a table inside at noon or outside in the evening. There are also 4 a la carte restaurants - included in all inclusive package . You have to make a reservation by calling a special internal number from your room, ONLY between 10,00-12,00am! we found it very inconvenient, as we should come back from the beach to our room to do so. We ate at 2 a-la-carte restaurants: the turkish traditional and Turqoise Elite, where we found good quality food and good service. There are "theme" culinary evenings - our favourite was Seafood night and Gala night (lot of vegetables, seafood, sushi, specialities).
THE FOOD Iis good quality overall, it amazes you in the first day, but then it becomes a little repetitive. Anyway, the sweets are amazing!
PEOPLE/TOURISTS - over 80% russians, and also french, english, turkish, romanians, other. Many overweight people, many families with kids, but we weren't annoyed or disturbed by anyone
ANIMATION TEAM/SHOWS - they usually do their job, but you can sense the "I have to do this, it's a job" feeling on their faces sometimes. If you do not participate at the activities, there is a big chance they do not notice you at all... until we participate at some rifle shooting and darts in our 5th day, we were barely greeted by them...the night shows at the amphiteater were mixed - the ones made by the animation team were uninspired and boring, the ones made by professional dancers or entertainers - were ok. Best show in our opinion - Hurrem Sultan (in the only night with a storm!!). The shows are supposed to begin at 21.15 (before that they have Papy Kids - a kind of show with the kids - the same songs over and over every day), but they usually begin at 21,30 and last around 45 minutes. Usually if you come around 21,00 you will probably find a free table to sit. Ask for a free bowl of nuts!:) Every night they make a kind of ceremony with all the winners of the daily activities (rifle, darts, pool game, boccia, football, etc).
FOR CHILDREN: it seems that children were happy with their activities at Papy Kids Club! After 3-4 days, you'll find yourself shouting along with the kids:"Papy Club, Papy Club, hey-hey-hey!!" :))

Ok, now PROS and CONS:
PROS:
-- cleanliness
-- room and bathroom size (and amenities) and room sound isolation from adiacent rooms
-- food and drinks quality (mainly the seafoos and sweets),
-- pools and toilets cleanliness
-- WIFI in all areas, including beach. Good connection overall, except the amphiteater in the evening..
-- Cats hotel - nice initiative - there is a small "cats hotel"build somewhere sideways in the right near the waterslide,
-- The turkish traditional "guzleme" pancake (only between 12,00-16,00) - best paired with ayran!
-- piano player in the lobby (some evenings only)

CONS: eeeeh, there are several....
- - I'd begin with the flies and the sparrows - do not laugh - they have a big problem that seems small at the beginning but in time you'll realize that is not. Inside the main restaurant there are a lot of flies that obviously sit everywhere, including displayed food - not a strong point here....The sparrows are very intrusive also - they fly and eat imediately from your plate outside AND inside the restaurant - we noticed that they evolved so much that they fly straight INTO the door sensor just to open the door!!!! So, do not leave plates unattended, especially with pastry or bread - they will come and peck from it! The sparrows also sit and s**t on the chairs - so you will probably notice "the remains" on the inside of the chairs, where you rest your back...another not so good point here
- - The noise in the night - you cannot leave your balcony door opened until 1-2am because you'll here loud the noise from different discos in the resorts...TIP: bring your earplugs!
-- Also, in the evening, the smell of outside barbeques will come up in your room....
- - In the main restaurants' terrace, early in the morning, there are no waiters!! We stayed for 40 minutes before 8.00am - NO ONE! We had to take water and other stuff for ourselves - unacceptable for 5* deluxe hotel! Also, the restaurant stuff looked very bored, not a single smile on their faces, often forgot what we asked for ...you'd expect more for a top-class hotel
- - THE DJ - We are young, we like to dance and to party, but the DJ is club-only oriented. The same 128bpm all night...seriously?? and same sets....same beat...at ALL times when he was mixing - no matter it was foam party in the day or champagne night - he knows 1 thing and this is it!! We couldn;t hear ONE ENTIRE SONG - just club mixing, too tz too zt too tz...the result - 10 persons on the ring after half an hour --- anyway, he doesn;t care - he continues the same manner until the end...not a smart choice for families, older people and even young ones
- - the "live" bands on the restaurants' terrace in the evening - bad, bad, bad....dressed like they just arrived from the market, voices often slightly out of tune, they do no know the songs very well...complete disappointment
- -high class all inclusive - only efes beer ....seriously? that is your idea of high class all inclusive? and only 1 or 2 types of whisky, several cocktails - if you want anything special, you have to pay!
- - room cleaning - quite bad scheduling - they skipped a day in our 7 nights stay, and in another day they came late in the evening and just changed the towels and took away the garbage. Maybe we were not so lucky, but they were at our door either in the morning when we prepared to go to the beach, or in the afternoon when we returned for shower/sleep...and they skipped us..:))

So, overall, we give Papillon Zeugma 3,5 out of 5 stars. Maybe after this autumn' big restauration, the next year will be better.

Room Tip: Try to get a higher level room - the view is best from upper floors!

After all this year at Zeugma is difficult to write a review . Everything was at the same high level like in the past years. The service remained excellent, all the peoples from the guest relations, bars, restaurants, entertainment deserves congratulations for their work . Before our arrival I read some reviews about the food which is tasteless !! I was worried, and I asked myself what happened. Well, nothing happened. The food is great , diversified, for all tastes, And a special remark for Olive Garden Reastaurant. At the bars you have a large variety of drinks: whiskies, cocktails, and all what you want. For more details you can read my previous reviews. Like every year I want to thanks to few very special people : Mr. Baris Becerik Guest Rel. Manager, and Mrs . Sanya from Guest Relations, Mr. Mustafa- night manager, Mr . Atila Yazim- Service assistant manager, and Bulent Ylmaz and Mrs. Emel from main restaurant, Mr. Ercan Kotanak from Olive Garden Restaurant, Ferhat and the amazing girls from the Lobby bar, Betul and Gulizar, and Ali from the pool bar.
And of course many thanks and a big hug to Mrs. Gabriela Gradinariu from Guest Rel. which you can trust that will help , no matter what problem or request you have.
From November untill May the hotel will be renovated so we just wait to come back at new hotel next year.

Staying here for the moment. Very nice hotel, but too bad for the egoism of many guests here! Never experienced this in such a way :-( Unfortunately, loads of unrespectful visitors, so greedy they do not respect smaller children to order something in restaurant nor at the bar. Education & respect is not incorporated in every culture apparently... Such a shame!

Fantastic hotel! It has everything that hotel of this category should have, but what is better than others-it has the best animation team, not only for children, for adults too, with so many activities during the day,and even better shows and aftershows (parties) in the evening. The only thing that can be problem for guests with a little bit bigger standards and expectations can be numerous parents with babies and small children that can be very lound and unpleasant to listen to.

We arrived on the 17th July at 10;30pm and were greeted by Yulia from Guest Relations who made the check in process as seamless as possible which was just what you wanted after a long journey. We got to our room 2021 which upon entering looked dated but i was expected this from reading previous reviews, It went a little bit down hill here as there were only 3 beds set up when we were a family of 4 just wanting to go to sleep and then my wife went to the bathroom to find that there was no hot water coming out of the tap but only cold water. A quick call to Reception and some one was up to setup the 4th bed and then a maintenance man to fix the hot water tap. This is a bit disappointing when you come to a 5 star hotel you do expect it to be 5* in all departments however this will be the case this winter when the refurbishment takes place.

From now on in the hotel excels....the Food, Animation Team and Papy Kids Club are absolutely fantastic a special shout out to Tatiana from Papy Kids Club she was absolutely great with the kids and she also made my B'Day special with what can only be described as the most sincere and heart felt birthday wish one could wish to receive!. Breakfast i couldn't help but have an omelet everyday and the fresh bread and fruit on offer is fantastic. Lunch times we were usually at the Beach bar where they serve Chicken Doner and Chips and Jacket Potatoes as well as Gozmel which is a Turkish pancake with a choice of savory or sweet fillings or you have the pool side bar which serves a wider range of foods from grilled Fish, Roast Chicken, burgers, Pizza and salads etc. we never went to the main restaurant for Lunch as we never deemed it necessary with the choice available by the Beach and pool.

The evening meal now this is where it gets really good!! The main restaurant Belkis which has a huge variety of foods my favorite was the grilled (BBQ) meats and fish and salads! We also ate at three of the four available A'La Carte restaurants, first we went to The Olive Garden (Italian) where we probably had the best Italian meal we have ever had and we have eaten in a fair few Italian restaurants! and we also went to China Garden which was also great with excellent Sushi!....and lastly we also went to the Green Bar Restaurant which was A'La Carte Turkish Food again i cannot fault it the food was of a very high standard.

Your day passes by very quickly as the Animation team are always on hand to entertain with games and sports the whole team are fantastic and the evening shows are also pretty good with the Kids Disco at 8:30pm and then the main show at 9:15pm with some shows being better then others but it is nice to have the option available.

If shopping is your thing then i would recommend to go to Belek Town centre after 8pm as it is cooler and the shops are open till 10-11pm.

The only other note for improvement for the hotel going forward would be to replicate the level of English speaking staff across the hotel like they have at Guest Relations otherwise this is a very well run Hotel chain and you wont be disappointed!

we stayed here for 11 nights from 22nd July with 2 children aged 9 and 10

from the start our impression was very good, we arrived at 11:30 at night and were greeted with an offer of drinks and a meal. we found the check in to be quick and efficient.

we had a standard room in the main block, overlooking the pool, we never heard any noise whatsoever.

the room was great with everything you could need, out youngest had a sofa bed, whilst it was very large it was adequate, perhaps this is the one thing which could be improved slightly on the refit, along with an increase in the number of drawers which is slightly low when 4 are in the room.

the whole hotel is wonderfully clean, and all of the staff extremely polite and helpful

our 2 children spent a lot of time at the papy kids club and praise has to go to Rose and her team who were exceptional, the best organised and varied kids club I have ever come across! they spend hours with the children yet always appear friendly and welcoming, every child also received a t shirt and back pack without charge.
the children's activities are very good and you can book pony rides and banana boat if you wish. the security of the children is also the nest I have come across

the evening entertainment is also very good, ranging from the animation eam shows to professional outfits brought in, highlights were Mamma Mia, The Lion King and Chinese acrobats.

after the entertainment there is always some kind of themed disco or party which are also very good, the animation team put everything they possibly can.

the restaurant is good, and has a huge variety every night, it can get a little busy, but the waiters will soon hurry and find a table for you, they are very good at remembering your taste in drinks as are the staff at the amphitheatre and you are kept well supplied with a smile.

Our flight did not leave until 11 at night, we asked to keep our room which was soon organised, and it was free of charge, I have never come across this before and shows how exceptional the customer service is

I would stay at this hotel again without hesitation and are looking to return next year

Room Tip: pool view rooms are quiet
