“A truely relaxing holiday.”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Where do i start. First time in turkey and no idea what to expect.
Quick transfer time and passing various average looking hotels and then pull into the Asteria. Wow very impresive reception area, friendly and efficient check in then sent off on a tour of the accommodation blocks through the well manicured gardens to our room. I requested a room with a double and there it was with a bunk bed. Room was imaculate with no niggles at all.
we settled in and then went for a wander around. Everywhere was so clean it was amazing, by the end of the stay there was all new sunbeds around the main pools and plenty of them.
The main restaurant was excellent, yes it did get a bit samey after 11 days but there was so many different dishes what can you expect. A la carte chinese was ok but english was a problem when my veggie wife ended up with sweet and sour chicken. So just went to the main restaurant instead. Snacks were adequate and fresh bagettes were good. Drinks were of a good standard were good and a tip to our George Cluney look a like waiter meant that our glasses were never
empty.
Entertainment was average but passed the evenings.
Yes the hotel is remote but the bus service is regular and you can work for miles along the beach.
The adult only pool was so relaxing with super comfy sun beds sparkling also freezing water, but it was April so not had time to warm up.
Very few english as stated but didn't bother us and we didn't feel that the other nationalites were at all offensive.
In conclusion this AI holiday cost less than £50 a night each and was an absolute bargain, Only gripe was Thomas Cook who chucked us off the bus and were not seen again. We were given an A5 brochure with some uninteresting tours. All TC info in the hotel was in German and finding the pick up times was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Stayed at the hotel during may (well actually I'm still here). Although the hotel is remote it's a good location for airport transfer and any trips you go on.

Yes there's not many English people as people have previously said but so what?!

The grounds are beautiful and are well maintained.

The little extra's in the rooms go along way, mini fridge, Turkish delight etc etc.

The food is by far the best I've ever had in a hotel. You could stuff yourself stupid!

Breakfast...if you want typical English breakfast (don't know why you would go abroad for English food) then you'll be disappointed. Good selection of fruit, pastries, yoghurt etc.

Lunch....lots to choose from, probably too much to choose from. All food is so fresh and some cooked right in front of you. There is 1 small restaurant near the beach that also serves food.

Snacks....best snacks I've ever had in an all inclusive hotel. No gnarly "hot dogs" or cold chips in sight, instead you have well made burgers, chicken with various salad and chips at the pool bar. Fresh baguettes and waffles at the beach side.

Dinner....twice we struggled to get a table but did eventually find one. Busiest times seem to be between 7pm-7:45pm. I would suggest altering your day to have a later dinner. The food is again fantastic. The doner kebab (turkish night) isn't your average dirty doner, it's actually made with real meat!

Went to the turkish al a carte restaurant, if you like to be adventurous then try it. The lamb cutlets were to die for.

The pool was busy but the adult pool was quiet with no kids running and screaming.

Always found sunbeds on the beach.

Great facility of beach towels so no need to take your own.

Entertainment is um interesting....

This part of turkey is mainly used by Germans, polish, Russians etc whilst the English tend to go to marmaris, bodrum etc.

I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Sunshine Included at Club Asteria Belek Turkey
By John Selkirk

The weather is cold, there’s snow on the ground,
Easter holiday are here and we are settling down,
but staying home, no, we decided to go,
on an all inclusive to Turkey there’s sun and no snow.

We are excited and can’t wait for the day,
to come, that we leave for our getaway.
We drive to the airport, long stay parking we’ve booked,
but to find it, we go and the Sat Nav we’ve looked

We find it quite quickly and the transfer is done,
to the airport on the shuttle, a fairly quick run.
We arrive with our baggage for a security check,
the alarm sounds and we say oh no what the heck.

A personal search and nothing is found,
so of we go through to the departure lounge.
A coffee and biscuit while awaiting some news,
of our flight, yes coffee no booze.

We look at the screen to see what it said,
well no surprise there then, our flight is delayed,
at least 30 minutes we will have to wait,
not the first holiday flight where the plane has been late.

Finally our time has come ninety minutes overdue,
The plane fully boarded and the doors are closed too,
They tell us the safety stuff we have all heard before,
From seat belts, oxygen masks and lights along the floor

Our plane’s in the air and we’re on our way,
A cheer from the passengers, hip hip hooray.
They serve food and drink and show movies too,
and I read my book on Kindle, at least to page one hundred and two.

We arrive in the sunshine, the pilots lands well,
I wait for the luggage going round on the carousel.
The sun’s shining brightly as we head for our bus,
transfer to the resort without any fuss.

The hotel has it all, and it’s all for free,
breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea,
the pool the gym and the animation,
there are people here from every nation.

There are loungers laid out all along the beach,
and bar for all drinks within easy reach,
they want for nothing to drink or to eat,
the sun tan brigade are on easy street.

Evening comes and our dinner is eaten,
entertainment theatres with plenty of seating.
Young staff perform each and every night,
singing songs from musicals which we all find so bright.

A week in the sun and we had a great time,
the food and the drink, didn’t cost us a dime.
our holiday time will soon come to an end,
back home to the snow and all of our friends.

But before we head off their it’s hard work today,
like packing, then waiting, it’s another delay.
The plane flight, four hours, it seems such a chore
the same journey back is more of a bore.

So why do we love it so much going away,
But on the way back it’s no holiday
Back to reality, work and snow we all fear,
but we’ll do it again, can’t wait till next year.

Room Tip: The room was slightly small just ask for a larger on booking I think but the holiday was superb

My husband and I have just returned from a week in this hotel, April 13th 2013.
There is nothing to complain about, However there are a few things to consider, this hotel has very few English guests the manager told us they only have 8 rooms allocated for British travel agents at the height of the season, the hotel has around 500 rooms, we did not find this an issue as everyone we met was friendly and we always found away to communicate, There is no rep allocated to the hotel so if you need a rep reception call them for you again not a problem.
The food is excellent and you can eat from 7.30am to 22.00pm. I imagine that if you were going for 2 weeks the food would get a little boring.
Around and about, there is nothing outside the hotel, the nearest town is a 20 min drive way by taxi and cost £15, there is a bus stop outside the hotel but we did not try it,.
The hotel caters excellently for disabled guests in wheel chairs with access available onto the beach
Finally money all prices are displayed in euro's so it is preferable to take euros's rather than Turkish lira.
Hope this helps

This was our first trip to Turkey and we we were delighted with our choice of hotel. I had read all the reviews and as usual on here you get the odd complaint etc, but I really couldn't fault it at all! On arrival which was after 11 pm we were shown to the restaurant that was serving late meals for late arrivals - very welcome after the flight.
Our bags were taken to our room and were delighted with the garden villas that the complex is based on. We had a family room with double bed and single bed in 1 room and double bed in room adjoining. Perfect for our family of 5. The room was immaculate and came with a selection of soft drinks and a beer which was restocked every day.
There is so much to do at the resort - we used the gym, the trampolines, archery etc etc but actually spent most of our timing relaxing by the pool. We stayed at the large main pool, although there is also a shallow pool with baby slide and an infinity pool at the beach. We spent some time and the beach also which was another distraction for the kids. We didn't use the kids club as our kids were happy to play by the pool and park. The kids club looked very active with lots to do, but it did highlight that children were not 'signed in' as such. Children could come and go.
Food wise it was superb. Plenty to choose from in the main restaurant - huge buffet of hot and cold meals. The food at the beach bar is delicious too - perfect for a change. There are also in addition, plenty flat breads, waffles, bar snacks, cakes, ice creams etc etc available through out the day.
Staff were friendly and happy to help! We would definitely go back!

I usually do not like all inclusive hotels as I like to experience the culture of the country but this hotel was perfect in every way to have a relaxing week away. The rooms were immaculate with no dirt or uncleanliness what so ever. The rooms were so pretty and the hotel site was so beautiful with all the flowers. It was a pleasure to just walk around the hotel!

The facilities are amazing - the pools were superb and so lovely to sunbathe next to. I am a young adult so I don't really need the children facilities such as the slides or the play park but I can imagine them to be some sort of paradise for young children! The food and catering was on another level! There was just too much to choose from at every part of the day. They served breakfast, late breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes, lunch, sweets and treats by the pool, dinner and dessert. It was crazy how much food they made but I can imagine that there was a lot of waste.

The on site beach was gorgeous and the sunbathing areas were so nice as little tortoises would be wondering around randomly! It was lovely to have exotic creatures just roaming around whilst you sunbathed. It is such an amazing hotel and the service was just over the top. They look after you so much there and I felt so comfortable there.

The only thing I would change would be the wifi areas. You only get Internet at the entrance and the mini hut thing by the bar - it would be better if each room had wifi so that I didn't have to stay out late to Skype my family. However, that was only a minor flaw.

This is the best holiday I have ever had in my life so far
The people are so friendly and warm
The rooms so clean and fresh
Free water and tango everyday in the room fridge
We arrived at 4 am and was dropped of at the room by a golf cart. We forgot to put the Do not disturb on the door The cleaners came in and cleaned round us and even unpacked one case for us and we never even heard them.

Food was 24/7
Drinks all free
Entertainment was fantastic

Would live there if I had a chance.
