We stayed at this hotel aug_sep 09 and loved it,It is a massive hotel, really lovely with beautiful gardens. We had
a lovely view of the lake pool.Has a villa lake pool, 3 main pools,1 in door and 2 for kids, slide for both little children and older, kids clubs.games room.arcade, park, amusment rides, and night disco for the kids and for adults.beach activities, shops, fitness room, spa bars and live music also for the family a different show every evening in the out door theater some of which is brilliant.

The food throughout the hotel is lovely and of a high standard, The hotel is very well staffed and if anything needs doing they are straight on to it.

the only problem we had was the air con in our room was not good at all which seems to be a problem in parts of the hotel although couple other guests say theres was fine. we called reception and someone was sent to fix it however it still wasnt good enough and after a few words with a manager a new boxed fan was sent to the room and problem solved!!!

Other points. The hotel is set on the beach which is nice but the water isnt clear but nice and warm.
The hotel offers so much so isnt much need to leave which is as well as there isnt much to do outside the hotel but there is a shopping centre which is a nice 10 min walk in the evening or a cheap taxi ride,Shops sell the norm stuff for tourists, magnets, cups etc and local culture stuff. Any clothes sold will be fake and other stuff does break due to being made cheap and poor.

We really like this hotel as there is so much for everyone and relly couldnt complain about anthing.

I must admit we were worried when we read a few of the reviews but I can honestly say this is one of the best holidays we have been on. We arrived late in the evening and our room was ready and very clean. I do agree that the air con does not work very well but we did mention this the following day and an engineer did make some adjustments. It was a little cooler but not like we are really used to. Our room was not in a briliant location as we overlooked the solar panels and we could not open the door because of the noise of these and the crickets. We were in the rooms around 3377. However as we did not intend on spending all holiday on the room it was not too much of an issue. It was clean and the beds were changed every other day and the towels daily.
The pools were fab. We sat around the far side pool where there is a shallower area for the children. The water tempertaure was lovely and I have never spent so much time in a pool. We though August would be too hot but there were plenty of shaded areas and umbrellas all around the pools. The water slides provided hours of fun for big and little kids!! The main restaurant there was always plenty of choice of food and I challenge anyone to find nothing they liked!! the best was the grilled/barbequed meats and fish that were cooked outside. The food was of a high standard and always plenty of it. We booked one of the al a carte restaurants but that really was aggravation to get through so we only bothered one night. You had to book for the following evening!! We tried the fish restaurent and althoiugh the food was ok it was the setting that was better. The food in the main restaurant I thought was nicer. For lunch the beachside restuarnt was excellent with fresh salas and grills etc.
The entertainment was mixed with some nights better than others but for goodness sake it is a hotel complex and not broadway. The Mamma Mia night was excellent and the outside amphitheatre where the productions took place was a great setting. The children certainly enjoyed the min disco each night at 8.30.
We tried a couple of treatments and the Thai massage is to die for. The Turkish bath also provides you with a good base for tanning!!
Our daughter enrolled in the swimming lessons there through Thomas Cook and the instructor Vicki was excellent in teaching her to swim.
We also tried para sailing on the beach and again that was a wonderful treat. We did not spend much time on the bach as the pool areas had everything we needed.
There is a Saturday market and we walked there first thing in the morning. It was so hot by about 11 that we had to catch a cab back. That should only cost around 6 Lira.
Just one point everything was priced in Euros at the market and the resort and we could have survived without any Lira at all.!!

It was one of the best holidays we have had. If I could change anything it would be the air con and next time I would be tempted to pack a small fan!
We would go back without question.

We have 4 children aged 5,6,10 & 13 and all the ages were catered for, they enjoyed the pools, entertainment etc infact they were entertained morning till bed time. The staff were fantastic, the food was of a high quality, the rooms cleaned every day to a high standard in all if you have a young family you will not be disapointed. Paloma Grida Village is a must.

We just returrned from a week at the Paloma Grida and we had a nice time. The grounds are fantastic - water slides, pools, playground, beach, etc. were lovely and very enjoyable. Our days around the pool were lovely. The kids (aged 4 and 6) really enjoyed their days.

The food was okay. There was a lot of variety but not a lot of taste. We found the food to be catered more to a Russian Palate. The best meals were at the fish restaurant and the Chinese. For a five-star I would expect much better quality of food and service though.

The room was clean and basic but the air conditioning did not work very well. We had it looked at and were told it was working at 18 degrees - but it was certainly not.

The Thomas Cook kids club was good but as it was at the end of high season the staff were tired and didn't really want to work that hard. The kids club had lovely air conditioning so our girlsenjoyed having a cool break when they were feeling over-heated.

Most of the hotel guests seemed to be from Russia - the nouveau-riche set - not very friendly and really downright rude.

We got a good deal for our week and had a nice vacation, but I'm glad we didn't pay top-dollar - it was more of 3.5/4 star experience.

We had a fantastic time on holiday at Grida this year. This was out first visit to Turkey and we definatley were not disappointed.
After reading the reviews from previous guests I was apprehensive to say the least! But we neednt of worried.

We arrived early in the morning(4am), and the hotel even offered to sort us breakfast! but we declined and just wanted to get to bed. They arranged porters to get the luggage to our room which is a welcome relief as our room was on the 4th floor with no lift in our block (5turkish lira tip) they were v grateful. We had room 2707,this room was massive 2 large bedrooms,2 bathrooms and a living area. Our only let down with this room was the balcony... only room for 1 chair and if you wanted to sit on it your knees would be touching the railings. But to be honest we never used it for anything other than airing swimwear in the evening etc. The area on our room was just outside the main hotel entrance, perfect really when you consider everything else going on around the hotel and the noise from bars etc. TIP- Do not accept a room above the Zomm Bar unless you want to party all night and are just a couple (with kids it'd be a nightmare.)

The hotel is only 10-15 mins from Belek town, although not much to do there its ok for a change of scenery and some shopping (the hotel shop was very expensive)
There is a bus stop outside the hotel though and you can easily get to Side etc.

There is loads to do in and around the hotel, the entertainment team have a great rapport with the guests and colleagues...even holding regular kitchen vs management vs animation footy tournments etc. Brill. Eren and his gang have a real good manner about them. They have a varied range of games incl volleyball with Volcan on the beach, Crazy Darts, Waterpolo, Boules and various swimming pool games...not forgetting the 'club dance' .

Evenings are always a real treat at the Grida, the kids loved the mini disco and the shows in the amphitheatre, they were very entertaining. After the show everyone heads to Zomm Bar, this is an English Style pub inside with outside seating too. They have live music and dancing in the street- just like being in a carnival, and if you can still stand you can go to the Beach Club Nightclub until 2am and the animation team are there too! Im not quite sure when they sleep!!!!

The food was good, we didn't manage to get into the A La Carte restaurants at all during our stay as every morning at 9am when the phones opened to make the res it was consistantly engaged and when it finally rang they were always full.! We did
mention this to Guest Relations and they did say that they would make a reservation on our behalf but we were coming home that same day! The buffet restaurant was great though and always plenty to choose from if a little repetetive sometimes, so do try and get to an A La Carte res at least once a week for some variety.

Dont be put off by other nationalities staying at this hotel, they really dont cause a problem. English are getting to know this place more, staff tell us that they see more and more English every year. We would definatey go back and will def be going back next year.

Just got back from Paloma Grida last week. We had a fantastic holiday, all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We went with two children age 6 and 12 they loved the swimming pools and especailly the slides. There were lots of activities for them to join in arranged by the Hotel and organised by Eran who the children absolutely loved. There was a variety of different nationalities at the hotel, but this was not a problem. The food was very good with lots to choose from and all very fresh. At night the enterainment was very good, you could watch a show or just sit in a bar and listen to live music and then go to the beach disco if you stay awake that long. The entertainment teamed worked very hard and made our holiday very enjoyable.

The weather was very hot in August and a little bit too hot at night, getting to sleep was sometimes difficult because it was too hot. Our room could have been a bit bigger, but I would book a family room next time, but we did not really spend hardly any time in the room, as there was so much going on around the hotel.

The Hotel was very clean and it felt very safe for the children. The beach was lovely with soft sand, and the sea breeze helped to keep you cool during the day. We would definitely go to this hotel again.

My family and I booked (the wife and two girls aged 7 and 10) booked this hotel over a year ago because of the pictures in the brochure showing slides etc.
While checking on Tripadviser we found reviews that were not at times good and nearly changed our minds, but I'm glad we didn't.
Our room was in numbers 1900 block (1976) to be exact a back facing room.
most of the accomidition is in villa style but the 1900 block is a tradional style hotel build and the rooms are far bigger and more modern so it it worth the upgrade to what the call a super duluxe room. These are also out of the way of the hussle and bussle of the main street of the complex and the noise.
Being in the catering trade myself I find myself being quite critical of hotels and the way they operate.
I spoke to the exc chef, who luckly could speak very good English and asked if I could have alook round the kitchens. They were run to an extremely high standard of both cleanliness and organisation by the chef who was both talented and dedicated to what he does ( I had a really enjoyable chat in his office where he shew me photos of work he had done and compitation's he had entered.
All food safety and HACCAP records were there to see and it proved food was being prepared in a completely safe area.
The food is buffet style with a large live cooking area where chef's cook food infront of you, this the children really enjoyed.
Several theme nights were organised such as fish, italian, turkish to name a few.
The fish night was fantastic with a huge display of fresh fish including sword fish, tuna, tench fish etc etc etc all being filleted and cooked as required.
With the hotel being used by a large amount of both russians and germains (don't let this put you of) the food was very varied and included a huge selection to pick from.
The menu or choices of main dishes changed nightly and I can tell you there is no food re-heated at all (as the russian said)
Breakfast again a huge choice with just about everything you can think of, I really liked the fresh honeycomb.
Lunch was served in two places, in the main restaurant and a smaller one closer to the beach, again a huge choice and ice-cream cones on draught, something that was really good in the heat to cool you down.
Afternoon snacks were served 3-5 I never knew why as everyone seemed so full and couldn't face the delights on offer.
The complex had two very large pools, one splash pool a slide pool and a kids pool the one near the block style part of the hotel was know as the relax pool where you could relax in peace without being hounded by the entertaintment (palomotion team) this pool has a mushroom style fountain at one end and an island at the other, BE WARNED IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN THE ONLY VERY SHALLOW WATER IS BEHIND THE ISLAND, so if you have a child who is not a strong swimmer you need to head for the sunbeds in that area.
The other large pool is more lively with music being played and pool games going on etc during the day.
the average depth of the water is 4ft.
A smaller pool has 4 slides of which the stripey and and high yellow one are both fast and really good fun.
One very shallow pool is just for toddlers to splash in.
A further play pool has a yougsters water fountain and slide set up.
Each night the kids get a chance to dance to their own mini disco between 8-30 and 9.
There is a show most nights some of which are very good, all these are shown in the outside ampithreatre of which can get crowded in high season.
All bars serve a large selection of drinks and cocktails, we always found the barstaff to be very polite and nothing was too much trouble. Many Russians I saw go to the bar and not use any manner's and then wonder why the staff were prehaps a little off (treat people as you wish to be treated yourself)
The kids really enjoyed being able to get their own drinks as and when they required them.
The beach is nice with lovely warm water, there is a small shelf of shingle then it is a beautiful sandy bottom.
Tip's we found worked for us.

you get given two card keys for your room, these work the electric so leave one card in the electric all day, this will leave your air conditioning running all day.

take euros as this is what they seem to want.

if you go to the market (which has some brillant and very good quality) fake makes of clothes bid them down, the wife bought a prada bag for 30 euros after watching a women pay 60 for the same thing.

if you go to the beach it is best to go early as the wind tends to pick up and the sea gets rough.

If you fancy a cool down head for the zomm bar where the air conditioning works really well.

when you book in ask for extra pillows straight away there is only 1 each in the rooms

All in all a really good holiday made even better because the kids were happy.
We met some great company as well
