“Not 5 star”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Penny pinching'' that's what let's it down . I stayed in the Ali-Bey resort in July , this was my first time holidaying in turkey and was very impressed . Now that Hotel is 5 star . This hotel has 5 stars above its doors but in my opinion they are worlds apart..
SERVICE : not enough staff ' (saving money ) The staff that work there do work really hard but they are stretched to the point that myself and a few others were clearing plates from one table and stacking them on other tables just to get a seat . The waiters would then run up give the table a quick wipe then throw a table cloth down with cutlery . If they remembered to bring you glasses they would forget the water or they wouldn't come near you , so you couldn't order a drink .There just wasn't enough staff in the restaurant , well that was until there was a contingent of travel reps arrived to inspect and have a look over the hotel . Funny there was loads of staff on that day and everything went as it should have.
BARS : one guy or girl serving . If it was busy the bar staff were getting shouts all over the bar plus they were trying to make the orders that the waiters were waiting for as well for the guests that were seated around . For some reason the waiters were not serving at the bar , they only brought the drinks to you. . One member of staff making drinks means you won't get as much as you would like because of all the waiting around , ( saving money )
FOOD : there was not a great choice ' Yes ' you could get by for a week on what was supplied and what I ate tasted ok , some stuff was pretty good and tasty , other stuff was ok, just not a large choice . I won't go on about the food , I got by with what was there and didn't starve , just the service was pretty bad.
ROOMS : we had a room in the golf and spa side of the resort, pool view' the rooms are fantastic they are big, clean , modern with nice quiet air con 10/10 for the rooms.
As someone had said already the golf and spa hotel is new with shiny new rooms yet at the bar some of the seating is threadbare and not comfortable .
ENTERTAINMENT : poor , This organ player with a song set with backing music was repeated every night we could almost guess what song was coming on next, He needs to bring his song set into the 21st century .
We got to keep our room on till 9.30pm for 50€ which was ok , overall the staff we spoke to and dealt with kind and polite ,
Would we go again ' No '
Would we recommend to a friend ' No '
I'm probably comparing to much to the Ali-Bey but that's the only other hotel I have stayed in Turkey. That is 5 star ,, this is not !

Room Tip: Golf and spa side is the place to be if you want a nice room.

We've chosen this hotel 'cause all other top-15 hotels in Belek were overbooked. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. May be, because we get used to the hotels of the higher level and it was against expectations. The hotel has all the facilities, but it looks like the owners and management try to save money on keeping it right. Lobby has very old shabby furniture (it makes you upset when you just arrived to the hotel from the airport). Rooms are very big, but decorated very carelessly. Wallpapers are uneven. House-keeping - it looks like there's not enough people for that. A lot of room were not done till the evening. The majority of the lawns are... bald (it's very strange for the 5 star hotel). The grass under our balcony was full of garbage. Evening show - very poor, usually performed just by hotel animation team (saving money again). SPA - not worth the money.

Food is very poor in comparison to other turkish hotels, same menu every day. No sea-food at all. Only when it was Gala - people had a chance to have some prawns (only 3 per one person!). Crowds of people were standing in line for 30 minutes to have something food for the dinner. Poor drinks choice all-inclusive. One beer. Red, white, rose turkish wine. Bartenders get used to serve only all-inclusive drinks and have know idea how to prepare Long Island Ice tea (which is not in the all-inclusive list). Electro-car takes you to the main building, but sometimes you need to wait them for 10-15 minutes. No chance to catch them at night. Annoying sellers from the hotel's boutiques, catching you on the beach.

On the other hand - excellent staff, very polite and friendly, animation team is amazing!
A lot of free sunbeds all day long. Clean beach. Hot sea-water.

We would not recommend this hotel for those who expect 5 star hotel as it has to be. But - if you don't bother about all the things i mentioned, don't hesitate to have a good vacation here.

Room Tip: Book the room facing to the main building, 'cause on the other side is a construction view.

The hotel(s) are very well maintained and spotlessly clean, the staff work hard and most have a friendly word and smile. Our room was spacious and the air con was quiet and efficient. The food was not the best but there was always something that suited our tastes,. We tried the French restaurant, the menu was fairly extensive, very well presented, tasted beautiful and certainly worth 5 Euros per person. The pools were FREEZING!! given the high 30+ degree temperatures most days we were at a loss to understand how this could be. The sea was considerably warmer and sunbeds were in abundance. The shows were hit and miss but some of them were good. The singer/piano player in the lobby was pretty dire and perhaps should hang up his dated song list and make room for someone with talent. Would consider returning if the price was reasonable.

Room Tip: Golf and Spa rooms are bigger, get a higher floor for better view

I have stayed at this hotel several times in the passed up until it went
totally down hill a few years back... seeing as it had had a revamp and
looked good thought I would go and take a look... the price was very good too..

We was upgraded over the the new hotel which is lovely the rooms are a very
good size, and I have never stayed anywhere where the bathroom is of this size either
Not only do you have the bath with over head shower there is also a walk in
shower cubicle which is lovely. The hotel is spotless and this is also reflected in the old
hotel aswell, although I am not sure if they have re decorated he rooms here.

The towels at the beginning of the week started all fluffy and white by the
end of first week we were given tired ripped towels on a few occassions.
The bed was just pulled up the cushions were left behind an armchair and
the bed throw was left strewn over a chair by the cleaner except on last day
when she made bed properly... although room was hoovered I didn't feel much
care was taken buy the cleaners to be honest... just lucky we are tidy people
and clean up after ourselves I guess... on a couple of occassions we were
left with hardly any loo rolls which is abit annoying ...small things but annoying even so

Our room overlooked the new hotel being built across the road, they work 24
hours and although could sometimes hear the odd banging and tractor/lorry it didn't
really bother us at all....

They opened the new Golfers Lounge a couple of days before we left, which
was across from our room - we had a look around and it is gorgeous with lovely
comfy looking leather sofas, a nice bar area and also seating outside....
there was also a small practice green, which was outside our window (room 5128) lucky for us no one
was using it hate to think of the balls hitting the windows ! although they
would be hitting them the opposite way you never know !

The pools are lovely and the olympic pool is really for serious swimmer, a
few who I saw took full advantage of it ... almost like they were competing
for the Olympics !
I was glad to see they had purchased new beach towels as I remember the
last visit there they had holes in them and several were ripped and that
was in May at the beginning of the season so they were probably as big
as face flannels by end of season

The beach is how I remembered, no real issue getting a sun bed and apart
from a few Brits everyones out of the mid day sun so its very peaceful.

The entertainment is abit hit and miss we watched a few shows which were ok
others which were not so but it kills an hour... then you have the professional entertainer they
like to call him, who belts out same songs every night... Country Road take
me home... Moon River .. Brown Girl in the ring ... people seem to enjoy it
and even request songs which amazed me as this guy cannot sing for toffee....
but he is there every night surely he singing for free.... The dancing is entertaining in itself

Beer, vodka and some liquid that is suppose to be baileys I think oh and
Ouzo is included in the All inclusive ... anything else you have to pay for

Now to the food which is where is where the saying you get what you pay for
comes into it .... I have stayed in 5 star (Voyage which should be 10 star
compared to here food wise)
the food here is no where near 5 star - on a couple of occassions we ended
up getting some rolls and buying crisps and having crisps rolls for our
dinner... I guess you can eat chips
every night if you so wish as they are there every night ... along with
bolonaise and pasta but some of the things they present are not appertising
at all... fried cauliflower for instance
There is not a great selection at dinner time and so if you do not like
whats on offer then ... crisp rolls salad or chips for you I am afraid....

We went to the Mexican which cost us 5 euros each and was awful... chicken
fajitas was strips of chicken came up sizzling along with peppers and
onions in hot oil the fajita sauce
was a cold dollop in a little jar no sauce in the cooked dish at all, the
wraps were just put on top of the hot sizzling meal, I witnessed a lady get
a full face of steam when she lifted her wrap off the
hot plate .. there wasn't even a side plate to put the wrap on so as you
could make the fajita wrap...

.. the chinese wasn't appertising either... that was free and rightly so in
my opinion .. go for the spring roll the sweet and sour chicken was like
sponge in sauce... and desert is fried ice cream..
which I never even ordered .. we had no problems booking either of these
resturants.
The weather was lovely the first week the second we had a couple of cloudy
days and the last couple the wind was freezing...

We enjoyed our holiday, let down was the food and entertainment really....
two weeks was too long at this hotel .. but it is a good price and still
cheap next year too ... I would not personally go
back again and as I said the saying you get what you pay for springs to
mind... hence I am returning to the Voyage next May for abit of luxury...
and decent food....resturants...entertainment
it costs more money but so worth it...

Room Tip: If they put you in the old hotel asked to be upgraded to the new hotel.... You don't get if you...

My husband and i stayed in the Golf hotel for 2 weeks at the start of September.

This is our 6th visit to Turkey and the only one we haven't enjoyed.

Pros
Room was a good size with excellent shower
You can get a sun lounger round the pool anytime of day
Some very pleasant staff, which is very Turkey where the people on the whole are lovely (customer services ladies where you book a la carte need to be helpful and smile sometimes)
A la carte food nice though portions at the chinese were tiny.

Cons
Food in main restaurant is of poor quality. So bad we gave up going at lunchtime and waited until the 2pm when we could get fresh pizza at the pool bar.
Did not see food temperature checked once in 2 weeks
After the evening show (which are a bit hit and miss) there is very little to do.
Entertainment in lobby bar at golf hotel was awful with a guy playing the organ and singing.
Resort hotel lobby bar is a very depressing space
Drink choice is very limited

Had this been our first time to Turkey or our first time all inclusive we would have done neither again.

Room Tip: Sea/pool view essential otherwise you will be facing a building site; new hotel being built behind t...

Just returned from a relaxing weeks stay at this hotel. Weather was great for this time of year, as I thought it would be cold in the evenings, but no cardigans needed.

ROOMS. Our room was huge and very clean, our cleaner called DERYA G, was lovely and did a great job. Safe is free, so that's a bonus, and mini bar replenished every day, and for some reason on the last two days we were also left efes? Bathroom huge with a waterfall shower, but the only thing to let it down, was every day we got smells up the shower drain from the sewers and it stunk! Could of done with some domestos to put down it!! Beds huge and comfy. and clean bedding every day, so could not fault it.

POOL AREA. We stayed at the golf side pool every day and it was lovely, no rush for beds you could get one any time of day. Bar staff nice, there is lots of drinks to choose from. There is also a snack bar if you don't want to go into main restaurants. Really relaxing at this pool, and not many children as there is nothing for then to do really. However we did walk over to the resort side one day, which is literally 5minutes, but if you don't want to walk you can take the golf buggy. Well what a difference, it was like butlins by the sea, so so busy, with a real loud atmosphere, but if you like the hustle and bustle and busy atmosphere then this may suit you. The beach area is nice. We like a chilled out holiday with peace and quiet, so the golf part was our choice.

FOOD. Mmmm was not so good, we have been to Turkey lots of times and stayed in AI and this one was not quite as good as what we are used to. There was always something to get, but nothing tasty. We did use two a la cartes which were nice, especially the Italian, it was lovely. We did not have any problem booking them, as said in some of the previous reviews on here. Breakfasts were hit and miss! only had beans twice, bacon once, no poached eggs. Sprouts and carrots for breakfast is not really what you would expect, not even in Turkey. Late night buffet from 12 midnight till 7am in the morning, which we used on the first night as we arrived late, but it only soup, and nibbles, nothing really exciting.

All in all we had a nice relaxing weeks stay, but not one of the best hotels we have stayed in, whilst in Turkey. Free Wi-Fi a bonus if needed.

I did use the spa whilst there and this was lovely, the main man rude, and walking round the spa talking loudly on his mobile whilst we were all chilling on the beds, not really a good example for being the boss!!

Room Tip: High floor room looking over pool.

just come back from a weeks stay at the golf resort side of the hotel. It is the quieter and nicer of the 2, the other side was far busier and the restaurant just looked like a canteen alot of people pushing to get their food (BUN FIGHT!!). The food was good, not fab but good abit same old,and the tables were not cleared if you go in after 8ish people were doing the tables themselves. Just far too busy and noisy with lots of screaming kids not a good eating experience if you just want to eat your meal in peace and quiet and relax.Could not get into any of the al la cartes as they were fully booked. 3 pools, again the side we were on was the nicer and quieter. The room was nice and quiet and nicely decorated and clean. The entertainment was not very good except for the brilliant chinese acrobats but other than that it was just the entertainments team. The beach was disappointing (we normally go to greece where the beaches are 5 shades of blue and turquoise and you can swim out for 15 mins and still see the bottom ) The sea was a dark green and you could barely see your hand in front of you needless to say the snorkling kit was a waste. The hotel was nice and clean very big and very busy. For us it was too busy , the personal touch was lost and cooking that quantity of food the quality was not where it could have been. We went to book the al la carte and had to go back 3 times because of the queues and when we did get to see her she was miserable rude and very unhelpful ( 2 /3 other couples said the same) not the kind of person to be helping and dealing with customers. There is a gym but it closes at 8pm! I have never been to a resort like this where the gym was not 24 hour! Very disappointing. On the whole the hotel is good i had a lovely week but i would not return and that is only because of how busy it is , the dining experience, and the poor entertaiment in the bar on an evening (its not really a bar its just the foyer no definition or privacy you could be sat there having a drink and people and kids are just walking past?) there is no actual bar just the hotel lobby.

Room Tip: go for the golf side rooms are great
