We stayed here for two nights during the recent stormy weather that gripped a large part of Portugal. We even experienced a power cut for a couple of hours one evening. The weather meant it was quite cold so until the central heating came on about 6pm it was quite cold. The hotel is very characterful - old furniture and books etc. The staff are so friendly and the breakfast, bar area and lounge area are lovely. Our bed was too small but apart from that its a fabulous place. No wi-fi though.

Room Tip: First floor rooms at the front have balconies looking out on the amazing historic cobbled street.

My husband, two daughters (2 and 7 years old) and I stayed there for 2 nights in January. The room would be large for a couple (even a couple with one kid), but was on the small side for the four of us.
The location is awesome.
The service was very good, very attentive to our needs.
The shower holder was broken, so it was somewhat difficult to shower.
Also the heating in the room wasn't working, so they provided us a portable heater.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

Hotel is located right in the center of Tomar easily reached from the train station by foot. Tomar's old town is quite small so everything is within walking distance of this hotel. The owner George is very friendly and can answer any questions about the town. He gave us a room on the first floor on the street side which was small but comfortable enough for the two of us. Our room and the common rooms of this hotel were clean and well maintained. Our bathroom was decent sized, clean and had a great shower! The breakfast room was impressive and the common room was comfortable and really made us feel at home. Breakfast was basic for Portugal but worked fine for us. Would easily stay here again if we were to find ourselves back in Tomar.

Enjoyed two nights here in October. 10 minute walk from the train staion. Not many services at the train station when we arrived on a Sunday so bring a basic map to help find your way or ask the helpful locals for directions. Tomar was a nice respite after the frantic pace of Lisbon. The hotel is on a pedestrian only walkway, with a nice sandwich place across the way and great restaurants nearby. The hotel clerk was kind and helpful and we felt very welcome here. Our room faced the walkway in the front of the building but we were not bothered by any noise and could see the castle and monastery out and to the right from our window. Bathroom was large, clean, modern and had a nice shower. Breakfast was an abundent buffet with many choices of bread, cheese, meats, fruit, pastries, tea, coffee etc. and kept us going all day!! The breakfast room is lovely!!! My only regret was that I couldn't stay here longer. Would definitely return here.

The pensao is on one of the main streets, a perfect point to start in any direction. I suppose it would be quite and calm, if there was no a festival and "millions" of people on the streets far after midnight. No elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep. It is hard to pass with a big suitcase. Friendly staff on the reception. They place at our disposal an iron, when it was needed. Nice breakfast was included in the price of the room. The room was like the whole building, old with its own long history. The floor was covered with an old and dirty kind of rug or carpet, otherwise the room and the bathroom were spacious enough. The windows had window covers, which could save you from the street noise even if they can not close firmly, like in our case. The bed was comfortable. There was also a Wi-Fi included in the price.

We stayed two nights at this very lovely hotel. This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget. Our room was quite spacious with a large bathroom. There was no hairdryer (we had our own) and no closet, just a couple of hangers. I just loved the old style of this hotel. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room is just lovely. Also, great location, right in the middle of the town center.

Room Tip: You may want to have a room not facing the main street, as it can get a bit noisy at night. We close...

The Residencial Uniao is an adorable little hotel with an amazing owner.
He is really helpful and nice.
The rooms are quite big and clean. The bed are comfortable and big.

The hotel is well located in Tomar. It is near the "shopping" street.

The only thing is that the breakfast that could be improved....

But really enjoyed my night there!!!
