A small exhibition of jewish artifacts in a single room. OK it was Portugal¨s oldest synagogue, but nowadays it is not much more than a room.

We almost miss it, in that small and narrow street. It´s a small space but with lots of information and ancient jewish objects. Definitely worth a visit.

The synagogue is hidden in a back street, but if you are interested in this sort of thing, it is worth visiting. It is only one small room and I don't remember there being a charge. It is now in private hands, but was donated as a museum.
Sometimes they have small concerts here (though it is a bit crowded!).

This Synagogue - the oldest in Portugal - has been sympathetically restored with many gifts of artefacts from across the world.

It's more like a museum now than a synagogue but being a Jew it is a very moving expereince, the lady at the from desk wore a star of David but spoke no Hebrew or Yiddish, after we visited we went on to the other sites of this beautiful small town not far from Fatima
