Again, after checking reviews here at tripadvisor, couldn't miss visiting this place during our weekend in Tomar.
And thanks we did it!

The food is fantastic, delicious, with big portions. We tried the duck rice as recommended here, and was really great (it is ok for three persons - 10 EUR total), along with some entrances (olives, chorizo - roasted sausage, and bread).

With a small bottle of wine, and a coffee, ended up paying less than 20 euro total for two persons!
Couldn't eat desert because the portion was too big!

The atmosphere is really nice, an old small wine cellar, the staff is very nice and you can hear fado during the dinner (not live, but CD).

A short tip: the restaurant gets full very quick, there are only few tables in a raw, don't stay on the first table as the door will open and close many times...

Don't go here if you want a quick meal. This is a place to dinner without a rush, enjoying your meal and delicious flavours of portuguese food.

Staff is helpful and always willing to help.
Probably one of the top 3 places to eat in Tomar.
You won't regret going there.

If you are in Tomar and want a great experience and a good meal this is the place. Look for the real Portuguese specials like roast duck((Thursday) or pork cheeks (burras?) - usually on Sunday. They also make one of the best duck rice on the planet!

Had a nice meal here in early december. Loved the interior with huge wine vats lined up on one side and hundreds of wine bottles on the opposite side. House wine was tasty and inexpensive. Our entrees were ok but nothing to write home about. Nice desert menu and very affordable.

We read the Tripadvisor review by the last person (someone from Leuven) and decided to go here.
It was FABULOUS. really nice, simple rustic style food in a cool setting - it used to be the cellars of the restaurant opposite. The guy who runs it was very nice, helpful, speaks a million languages and it was SUCH good value! 28 euros including a fab bottle of wine! THey do half portions which is totally realistic. you do not need the full ones. Try the deserts - yummy!
we are going again tomorrow
