The food was good, but I had the same dish better in some other place. The cheesecake was tasty.
When leaving, I asked the owner where I could buy a bottle of water for tonight. The answer was: "I can just give you one." And she did.

Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, we chose this place and were thrilled with the experience. As you wander the tiny streets where the restaurants are, it is very difficult to figure out which will be good or not. That is the beauty of this website, IMO. So we went in around 7pm and go the last unreserved table. (We had not thought to make reservations.) MANY families, both residents and tourists, came in asking for tables and were turned away. We had bread/oil/olives to start, then soup, then entrees (vegetarian ones, which were a little cheaper) and a glass of wine each, and the total for 2 was 25e. And the food was delicious. And the owner is fluent in Portuguese, English and German and super friendly. It was our last night in Portugal and could not have been a better final meal. Definitely go, but maybe stop in earlier or call for a reservation.

You would probably have to ask where the restaurant is as it's tucked away down a cobbled side street and no visible sign but it's well worth a visit.

Fantastic. Me and my girlfriend are vegetarians, and this restaurant is a great option for this type of cosine.

We arrived early for dinner and could see thatt here was going to be a private party of about 30 people. Peoplethat had seen each other for 20 years, so we knew it was going to be noisy. We decided to stay. For dinner anyway, so we could enjoy all these happy people reminiscing.
The waiter was sweet and knowledgable. The food okay. For some reason we find that most restaurants put too little salt in the dishes and there is never any salt on the table. Must be a Portuguese thing.
