“Nice place for lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2011

Stopped here for lunch. Quite nice - huge portions - couldnt finish it. apparantly the owners who are portuguese used to live in Angola hence the spicey tastes in some of the dishes.

“Always a Treat!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2011

We returned Piri Piri again during our last visit to Tomar - it was fanastic as always! A family run place with Vito in front of house and his dad working hard in the kitchen. Try the Baccala a Braz (probably spelled incorrectly) - it's a Portuguese speciality and I've never had better - salted cod with thinly sliced potato, onion and held together with scrambled eggs. We will be returning to Tomar in August and will be sure to stop by - after all, it feels like home!

“Lovely - nice dining room, nice owner, good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2011

We stopped here for a late lunch and had two of the dishes of the day. Both very tasty. The owner is a really nice relaxed guy, and we came away with change from entrees, 2 mains, a beer and a large wine.

Very nice food - we loved O Tabuleiro and this place has a totally different menu so they are not the same. Also we sat outside here for a change, but could see there was a very pleasant dining room which would be a lovely spot for dinner. I would highly recommend both.

“Excellent local food inexpensive”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2011

Food was delicious, house wine excellent and priced 4 euro for 1 liter.
For 5 people with alcohol (beer, wine) we paid 57 euro plus the tip.

“Charming Find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2010

Located on a side street in Tomar, Restaurante Piri Piri is a great stop for any meal during a visit to Tomar. A Family run place for over 25 years, Vito runs the front of house with his wife assisting in the evenings. His lovable dad is the chef and a great one! My husband and I stopped in for lunch one afternoon and found it to be one the highlights of our trip. I had the Bacalhau à bras and my husband had the Lombo do Cachaço de Porco Ibérico grelhado com migas, both were very enjoyable and with a bottle of wine our lunch with appetizers and entrees was under 30 Euros. Vito was a great host and told us about his Valentine’s Day special for the following evening which was going to feature an appetizer buffet. We were so pleased with our lunch experience that we went back the following evening and had the best Valentine’s dinners in a restaurant that we could remember. The name of the restaurant is from the Portuguese hot sauce that you’ll find all over the country but Piri Piri makes their own and it’s not for weaklings – a little goes and long way and it is as tasty as it is fiery!
We’ll be back in Tomar in a few weeks and wouldn’t think of missing a fine meal at Restaurant Piri-Piri!
