“Place to relax....”

Country house close to the city of Tomar (about 1h30 from Lisbon). Very well presented with a fantastic river view and pool area. It has 4 rooms, all with their own decoration. 3 of the rooms are closer to the pool, the 4th room is located in the main house. Good value for money. Ideal for 8 adults and children, but it can take 10 adults if needed, as one of the rooms has a small living room with 2 singles beds.
Recommend taking literature as close by (within walking distance) there is no place to buy newspapers.

This place was really amazing! So silent at night, and beautiful during the day. The owner was a great host and suggested great tours, hikes and site-seeing. Thank you VERA!

My gf was amazed at the garden and the pool was just perfect, almost as good as the giant lake in front of the house. EVEN THE PETS were friendly!

This is a great place to go and rest for a couple of days( even though one of our neighbor guest complained about the crickets)! and I would recommend it in a heart beat.

We had a wonderful three night stay at Quinta do Troviscal. All the
rooms have a patio with a direct view out to the lake, the property is
absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are very clean,
breakfasts are good, we had ours right on our patio! There is a
gravel road leading to the property, but it is in good condition and
flat.

Vera is a wonderful host! We used her rowboat to explore the lake, a
very nice amenity included in the stay. She provides good directions
for exploring the area - she recommended that we visit Castelo do Vide
and Costancia, whitewashed villages that turned out to be the
highlights of our 9 day trip in Portugal. These towns were not on our
itinerary before Vera suggested them, and we are glad that she did!

Before arriving at Quinta do Troviscal, i was concerned that the
location was not close enough to notable sights - turned out that
there was much to see! Tomar is a great town, with a outdoor market
and great restaurants. Convento de Cristo and the aqueduct are
amazing. The wine and food in the Alentejo region was actually better
than what we experienced in Lisbon. We had great meals at
Restauarante Jardim in Tomar and Remedia de Alma in Constancia, Remedia at Vera's suggestion.

The combination of a room with a lake view, good sights and good
restaurant options is hard to beat - highly recommend Quinta do
Troviscal!

A beautiful villa in the countryside, about 20 minutes drive from the nearest town and 90 minutes from Lisbon Airport. We stayed in the D Maria room which was roomy, cosy and clean.
The real gem of this villa is the garden, with a beautiful slate tiled pool overlooking the gorgeous Castello Do Bode (reservoir) which you can also swim in or go for a row in the little boat provided by the villa owner.
The rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast is provided - bread, ham, cheese, croissants etc. Our room had a small fridge.
The only downside is that there are no facilities to cater for yourself so you have to eat out every night - not really a problem as there are lots of nice, reasonably priced restaurants nearby.
Vera, the villa owner is lovely - very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this villa to familes or couples looking for some rest and relaxation in a beautiful setting.

We stayed here for 5 nights in August with our teenage son. The view is really magnificent over the huge resevoir of Castelo de Bode. The bedroom was comfortable and clean and the bathroom had a great shower. Vera the owner is so friendly, relaxed and chatty. Nothing is too much trouble! Breakfasts were great, homemade cake, yogurt, fruit juice bread ham cheese. They are served on the individual terraces outside each of the bedrooms so you have lots of privacy. The pool and garden were so quiet and relaxing and a short stroll through the grounds brought you down to a pontoon at the resevoir where a rowing boat is moored for guests use. Overall we had a great time, a relaxing and unpretensious place to stay. Tomar is close by and it is a very interesting town.
