The boat tour takes you to a very beautiful virgin island in the Ria Formosa. There's enough time to walk around and take a swim in the crystal clear and warm water. Afterwards lunch was served at a local restaurant on one of the other islands (excellent tuna steak in our case, wine, water and coffee included). Everything was clearly explained in Portuguese, French and English. Excellent value for money.

We started at Olhão at 13:00. After being introduced to the boat man (sorry I don't remember his name) we started knowing immediately a bit more about the history of Olhão and Portugal when we passed by the Bom Sucesso historical boat. After picking the rest of the participants, 2 families with about 10 persons, we passed by various Islands that were promptly introduced by the boat man, and we headed to the Culatra Island. In there, the boat stopped by the beach so we could have a swim, walk and enjoy the natural beauty of Ria Formosa.
The sight is amazing: warm and clean water, white sands.

After that we picked the boat again and went to have lunch on the other side of the Island, again the sight was amazing: fisherman's island, very interesting buildings, a must see: totally different from any place in the Algarve. The lunch was very well served and after that we got about 20 minutes to walk around in the island, meet and feel the people that actually live there.

After that we headed back to Olhão with a smile in our faces. 30 euros for a half-day of great experiences. We recommended this trip to some friends that are staying more time in Algarve, and recomend it to the rest of the world!

We were approached at the Olhao sea front by the the alleged owner to take this trip for Euro 20.00. The normal price was Euro 30.00. He promised us 3 islands visit. We were truly disappointed. He recommended a restaurant in the first island. The fish meal turned out to be very expensive as we were charged for 500g weight each but the fish was only about 300g each. Then he took us to a beach on the same island where we stayed for an hour and then he took us back. So we had only one island trip. The best approach is to get a ferry to an island of one's choice. The return fare is only between 2 to 4 Euros. Independent travel means one can spend as much time on the islands as one wishes.

I'm sorry if you doesn't stay happy with the trip, i explain you, the natural park have 5 big barrier islands in the total of the 60 km of the natural park. The lunch tour, we past near the one of the big barrier islands called Armona and we have 1 hr free to relax on the final part of the other big barrier island called Cabo de Stª Maria ( in this big barrier island exist 3 small Islands, Culatra, Hangares e Farol), and we eat in Culatra Island, you understand!!! About the fish, is impossible a fish you see with 500gr and than you say the fish have 300gr. I hope you understand my explanation!!!
