Had a wonderful meal here last week whilst staying at Casa Francina, a wonderful fishermans cottage in Olhao. The restaurant was busy and people were being turned away. The three young staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. In fact the majority of the diners were English speaking. We were allowed to share a pasta dish for a starter. The fettucine was beautifully al dente, We both had fillet steak for the main course and when we ordered the waitress checked whether "medium" meant bloodless or a bit bloody!!! It came just as requested with a lovely pepper sauce and circular chips. Although the Portuguese wine is good and excellent value we chose a nice Italian red. Most of the other diners were eating pizza and there was certainly a good choice. They also offer a take away service. Although we chose one of the most expensive main dishes the overall bill came to less than 70 euros for both of us.
I wish I had read the reviews more carefully and realised that there was an upstairs with nice views, but the atmosphere downstairs was lovely and relaxed.
