There are lots of great restaurants in Paranaque City which is in the South of Manila but Big Plate stands out. It is so called because of the big sizes of the plates they serve the food in (servings are not so big though). Even though it is fairly new, this resto never failed us in the few times we've been here. Mainly, they serve Filipino food with a twist. For breakfast, I love their adobo flakes omelet and pan de sal with quezo de bola. Their yummy entrees include the creamy adobo pasta, the chicken salpicao , lumpiang bangus and spaglug. There's a transparent chiller where you can view the cakes of the day and you can never go wrong with their cheesecake and walnut pie. Thumbs up!

While restaurants that are geared towards Filipino cuisine aren't exactly on the top of my favorite places to dine out (I am Filipino by the way), because these are dishes I usually eat at home.

Big Plate's approach to their menu allows you experience a new twist to an otherwise typical everyday Filipino dish. I was a little worried at first, since some of the fusion restaurants I've been to had really weird menu items (in looks and taste); Big Plate makes it work, especially with their pasta dishes. If you are a fan of Filipino Cuisine and adventurous, then I suggest go there while the buffet service is open, its really affordable and you get to sample most (if not all) of the ala carte items.

Big Plate has a homey feel to it, and yes the plates are really big (plus the servings). The service was fine, although t took awhile to get our bill. All in all, I think this a great place to eat and I will definitely go back there.

True to its name, the plates are really bigger that the usual and even the tables. The service is very good and the ambiance is perfect for families and with your big group of friends. For the price, the servings were just right and almost all that we ordered are meant to be shared. Definitely I'll be back for more.
