“Cheap, Clean, Close to Airport...Friendly Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

This hotel is ideal if you want somewhere affordable & clean to stay for a few nights close to the airport.
The rooms are large, clean and well furnished. The bathroom is fine, with a good shower and hot water.
The location is a small village, away from the main areas in Manila - so it's not a 5star resort or hotel (if you want that kind of place you will have to pay a lot more to stay in the city).
I enjoyed my stay here, it made a real change from the busy parts of Manila; the main street outside the hotel has everything you need for a few days (7/11 Grocery store, bakery & other small eateries; hairdressers and other salons).

I never had any problems staying here, there is free wi-fi in the lobby, the reception staff are helpful.
If you are planning to travel and do things in the city or visit places like MOA, this is probably not the best location, as you will be paying for taxis each way.

Recommended for a quiet stay outside of the city.

I booked my overnight stay at this hotel through Hotels.com. I chose the more expensive room for 1 person. On Hotels.com website, it offered complimentary pick-up. Prior to my departure, I called the hotel and gave them my flight details. They told me to meet the driver at the PQRS waiting area. When I went to that area, I could not see their driver and had to take a taxi. On the ride, I realised and this has been confirmed by others that the ride passed through some slums in Manila where I saw prostitutes on the street. Fortunately, my taxi driver brought me to the hotel safely. When I arrived, I asked to purchase drinking water and the reception had none. In my room, although Hotels.com said that it had a kitchen, there were no utensils of any kind. The kitchen drawers and cabinets were empty. No kettle even to boil water. Even the cupboard was bare; no clothes hangers. My impression was that the hotel was not interested in providing service to its overnight customers. The bathroom was exceedingly small. The hotel compensated for the bungled pick-up by offering me complimentary drop-off the following day. I decided then to cancel my reservation for my overnight stay before flying back to Melbourne. This time I chose Nichols Airport hotel and was not disappointed.

Room Tip: Don't bother booking here. Advice from bona fide traveller. Bad service should not be supported.

Stayed overnite on 2 separate days for early flights.
Location quite far from other locations in Manila. Not to mention the traffic incurred to reach the place.
Location poor- was advised by staff to either hire a taxi or tricycle if leaving the premises. Felt unsafe in the surroundings.
Found roaches and small red ants (on the bed!!!!!!)
Small rooms.
Big mistake. Would not recommend at all. Spend few more $ and stay in a better hotel.
Also suggest remove photos on website. I do not know what magazine they took those pics from. Certainly does not look like their hotel rooms!

on the map Isabelle Garden Hotel looks ideal for the airport, however there were a number of drawbacks with staying here. Due to limited space these were 1) there are unregistered taxis cruising round the airport and this is near there. The hotel seemed to be in cahoots with these guys, as they would only call taxis with dodgy meters. The meter should be green and starts at 40. Anything else is wrong. 2) The hotel is surrounded by people who raise fighting cocks. These start crowing at 5am. You will be lucky to get a good nights sleep, not to mention the planes. Some of the rooms overlook the runway which is about 600 yards away. 3) There are no hotel facilities. They don't provide cups but there is a kettle. You have to go and buy stuff from a silly little shop, surprise suprise, it sells paper cups. Breakfast consisted of dry toast, no butter or marmalade, eggs, and a cup of hot water and a sachet of coffee brought up on a tray. 4) the smallest room has a raised bed platform but the airconditioning doesn't reach it.

Its a pity, as it is a very reasonable price. The internet also worked and was cheap. But the chickens, if only I had a gun!

Room Tip: Don't go for the smallest room, it is tiny and just not worth the saving. The suite is cheap and...

We stayed there for one night in a Suite room and made our reservation via Booking.com

When we arrived we had to discuss about the room price, they wanted to charge app 25% more than on our Booking.com reservation was displayed.
After a 10 min discussion finally they seemed to accept the booking as displayed.
But when we checked out our deposit was not fully returned, they kept the difference to the price mentioned the last night and told us that the price on booking.com was not valid.
This issue is the reason for the rating provided.

The room was clean enough, but there where no cutlery, plates, pots or anything else in the kitchen, not even drinking water was provided. A shower curtain in the bathroom was also missing.
WiFi ist available but not free
Breakfast is served to the room but was already cold on delivery.

Around the hotel is not much, a little street restaurant (cheap but good food -> 50 Peso) and some small shops are directly next to the hotel.

Thank you for your review but I'm a little bit confused about your comments. Please help me understand. You gave positive comments like cheap price, location close to airport, shops and malls. But your ratings are not consistent with your review. Can you please enlighten us on this.

We will attend to the faulty toilet and flooding in the shower. But please do help us by giving a consistent review in order for us to pinpoint our weaknesses and turn them into our strengths.
