My husband, a doughther and I spend 5 days in this wonderfull place. We enjoy a lot the pool, the food, the view, the services and staff! Good location, very quiet but no accesible beach. With this place we avoided the crowed city! It is far from the airport. We really recommend it for a visit to Bali.

I really enjoyed my stay at Rama Candidasa. The room was large and very clean, the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was so good I rarely ate anywhere else during by 8 day stay. The village of Candidasa was close by and I walked there often to shop and meet the locals.

Room Tip: My suite had a view of the ocean, worth the little bit extra

My wife and I decide to stay here for two nights for a break from the hustle and bustle of Kuta.
Best decision we ever did. The staff, grounds, rooms and food were exceptional. Not much to do around the area once you leave the Hotel, BUT, we came here for a break.
It was great being so close to the beach and hear and smell the ocean of a night.
If you ever go to Bali, you must come to this resort.

Room Tip: Excellent place to stay for a couple of days to get away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy...

Me and my wife stayed in Rama Candidasa Resort & Spa and it was great: the pool, the dining room, the view, the hotel services, rooms, staff! With a good location, we stayed only one day because we went travel around Bali!

Booked through RCI as a getaway for 2 weeks in hotel room. No mention of $10/night for "energy surcharge" on our confirmation, and have never before seen a fee this high at places it was charged. No matter the room size, the fee was the same. Some other guests staying a week were not charged the fee, and they paid less for the week than we did... so it could not be said that we were RCI members getting a better deal! AC was down twice during our stay. Nothing else in the room but lights used energy. Much of the time the AC was turned off. This is low season as it rains almost every day for the next several months. This spoiled several outings we planned, such as a snorkeling trip. Pictures look like there is a white sand beach next to the ocean. It is approx. a 20 foot wide strip above the sea wall that has been 'artificially' brought in and has no practical function. There is no 'natural beach' and you can't swim there because of rocks and rough sea. There is a medium size pool and nice gardens. The hotel is away from the city and unless you drive over an hour into Kuta, Ubud, Nusa Dua, etc., there is little to do in the immediate area. Tours like diving, rafting, and the Bali Marine and Safari Park are at a distance and expensive. We have been using our 11 timeshares for the last 20 years in locations around the world for at least two to three months of vacation traveling each year, and are always interested in finding great spots to return again and again. Checked out the rooms to upgrade to a 'one bedroom' as our 'hotel' room was small and far away from the pool and ocean area. The hotel wanted $50/night at first and finally said they would take $40. We paid $371/week for a last minute deal in low season. We expected at least partial kitchen facilities in their one bedrooms, but there were no rooms with cooking facilities or even a toaster...and they told us only a couple of rooms had microwaves which we never saw. All the rooms are much smaller than your average time share resort, and even the 'suites' had only a shower, no cooking facilities, and weren't that big. There was a problem with communication as many of the staff spoke very poor English, even though most guests are English speaking. This is a problem in town as well...at markets, exchange sites, and in grocery stores and shops. TV channels and internet were off and on again during our stay. When we asked for the hotel activities director to set up an outing, the staff directed us to a man inside the hotel area sitting at their activities desk, who did not even work for the hotel. Later, we discovered he worked for the taxis at the hotel. Because of this, it cost us $30 more to go to and from the Bali Safari and Marine Park than if we had been set up by the hotel. They never told us that the 'Rhino' package we bought included round trip taxi service from the park itself. Then management tried to dodge the issue as if he did not know about it, and never offered to reimburse us or apologize in any way for the confusion. Later we found out that the hotel was in league with the taxi group and made money from them when we paid more to use their taxi service from the hotel instead of the park doing it for free! We tried several times during the two weeks to talk to the general manager. Finally, after insisting that we be able to talk to him two days before we left, we met and discussed the $10/night fee we were not informed about until check in. Peer, the manager, insisted that it was between us and RCI. However it was their responsibility to make sure RCI informed us about their charges before our trip so we could agree to it or not. RCI does not recommend, or decide their policies, nor do they endorse their fees one way or another. They just report it. When it does not show up on the confirmation, the guests are not legally responsible to pay for any extra charges. This is just another strategy to gouge the customers and pay their own bills. The manager never answered this situation and told us he would "definitely" meet us on Saturday morning before we checked out and help resolve this issue . He didn't. When we tried to check out without paying this fee, the management had security harass and threaten our hotel taxi driver to keep him from leaving, who was naturally afraid to do so. He knew we had a plane to catch and even threatened to call the police if we tried to leave. Without considering our position or trying to meet us half way, the manager was more interested in getting the money than trying to earn satisfied and repeat customers. We stayed two weeks in Bali prior to this, and exchanged into the Peninsula Beach Hotel in Nusa Dua with RCI. There were more things to do there and the resort was what we expected out of a timeshare hotel...cooking facilities, a beach where you could swim, great pool and two great restaurants, and also beautiful grounds. Our experience with Rama Candidasa was so bad that we wanted to warn others who may be expecting more like we were. The manager's attitude and lack of ability to amicably deal with our situation was astonishing! Needless to say, we will not book there again!!

Room Tip: Hotel rooms are away from the sea, pool, and restaurant and the ones that are closer are not worth t...

Awesome hotel.. Awesome staff.. Awesome rooms.. Awesome ambience.. Awesome location (just that travelling to and fro is little far).
I still miss my morning breakfast at the sea-touched restaurant.. And also spending a quality romantic time with my wife every evening at the pool side, listening to the waves. Oh yes, how can i forget the soothing massage!
All I have to say is that me and my wife are left mesmarized by each and every aspect of the hotel. Rama Candidasa has that wow factor in it which one should experience by his/herself.
Cheers n Peace! ;)
