We stayed at Puri Bagus Candidasa for one night in September while touring around Bali but wished that we could have stayed longer. It is a most beautiful hotel set in wonderful gardens. It is set on the coast and has the most fabulous view from the first floor restaurant. Check-in was very welcoming with a chilled flannel and a cold fruit drink.
The rooms are single storey bungalows in a traditional Balinese style and are absolutely beautiful. We stayed in Room 501 which was quiet, luxurious and elegantly furnished. It was very roomy with a large comfy bed. It had a TV (with BBC World News), tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, a brolly (in case it rains) plenty of storage space, dressing gown and slippers, complimentary bottles of mineral water, plug-in mozzi repellent (not sure if they are a problem here but we were not bitten) and some mozzi cream, multi-voltage adaptor and, of course, air conditioning. As you can see, they have thought of everything. The bathroom was very large and modern with a big bath and walk-in open-to-the-sky shower. There were complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer and a line for drying rinsed out swimwear. There was a nice pool with towels provided. Breakfast is taken in the first floor dining room which had lovely views out to sea. It offered a good selection of hot and cold buffet. Dinner was also very good with a nice menu, reasonable prices, good service and very friendly staff.. Their cocktail menu was great too. I recommend the Bailey’s Comet, Nut Job and Coconut Dream; the latter comes served in a huge, decorated, green coconut.
On arrival I was given a voucher for a $5 head massage which I had and it was really lovely and included the neck and upper back too. It was just 15 minutes but felt longer. The therapist I had was called Artini. She was firm but very good.
This hotel was absolute heaven and 5* luxury. I highly recommend it and – no – I have not been paid for giving such a good report! It really is a lovely place to stay and I wish we were staying here for one week instead of one night. I stayed in 4 hotels during this trip to Bali and this was definitely the best one.

The hotel is really beautiful. When you arrive here everything seems perfect. The resort is romantic and fantastic. The garden full of trees, flowers... THe SPA is really relaxing as well (obviously is extra).
The breakfast was good.
The first 2 days you think is perfect but after a while you realize that
1. The hotel is charging you 21 % tax when normally it is 10 to 15% (so an extra for them).
2. The price of the food and drinks are twice the price of other restaurants outside. I understand that they have to put a margin but tax service+ higher price = you stupid tourist and we get super rich on your back.
3. The food is not good. The breakfast is ok but the lunch or dinner. You ask for a FRESH tuna and they serve you a snapper (frozen obviously). But they wouldn't tell you. Because you are a stupid rich tourist...
4. Obviously when you pay at the end of your stay the change dollars/rupies is obviously different to the change they will give you for changing money
5. If you want to waste our money for nothing because you are lazy book through the reception. They will tell you a driver is 50dollars a day. You can found at 35 outside. Same for everything. Always taking a big margin
6. It is quite difficult to get out of the hotel without paying a taxi because it is not so close from the city center. 3Dollars a way... Sometimes there is a free shuttle but only from the hotel to the city center not the contrary.
8. No need to book nothing inside the hotel. If you are not shy to negotiate, just get outside but it is a bit stressful at the end if you are not use to it.
7. Not the fault of the hotel. But there is nothing in Candidasa. I felt kept in a trap.

Stayed here for 7 days. Its a lovely place, the rooms are spacious. It has an outdoor shower, not my type of thing since this is the tropics and it rains but still nice on the whole.

The staff are very thoughtful especially those in the restaurant. We had special requests for dinner and they have been able to accommodate us each time. Points for effort! Food is a little pricey even by resort standards.

Unfortunately the house keep staff are not quite up to par. It took them 2 days to clean a cup and throw out empty beer bottles.

All in all a lovely stay except for little quirks here and there. Will return.

Room Tip: Stayed in Candidasa to go diving. hence the location is good for divers diving Nusa Penida

We have just spent 10 days here and it was fabulous. From the moment we arrived the staff couldnt do enough for us. The bungalows are amazing - loved the outdoor bathroom. We had our 30th wedding anniversary and had an evening dinner in one of the gazebos overlooking the beach the staff decorated it for us and treated us like royalty! the gardens and pool area are lovely. Make sure you do Happy hour couldnt believe that ALL DRINKS were included!!! Carnt wait to go back again.

Unfortunately our itinerary only gave us one night in this gem of a hotel! Reception staff provide a very warm welcome which is continued throughout your stay. The bungalow accomodation is superb and the bathrooms amazing with semi roofless showers.
The location on a quiet beach is superb - sunset (alas we only saw one) was splendid.
A wondeful hotel - long may it stay this way!

I recently ran my annual personal transformation event here and it was simply wonderful. The liaison before we even arrived was very professional and easy, the welcome (despite a late arrival) was warm and kind and the standard of rooms and service were equal to the 5 star approach we offer at our event. The resort grounds and facilities are superb, as is the general attitude of staff. You MUST visit the gorgeous spa - which is one of the most beautiful we have ever offered our guests. If you are seeking an idyllic location for business or pleasure, look no further.

Room Tip: All rooms we used for our group were beautiful, quiet and very well appointed.

We stayed at this nice hotel at the end of august 2012. We loved the beautiful gardens, the Pool, and the room was really great. It was big, very clean, with a huge and confortable bed, a nice bathroom etc. The breakfast is great also. A lot of choices for everyone and everythig is really good.
But some employes Were not very nice to guests. And the only thing that was incredible was the prices of the food and beverages!!! In the hotel the restaurant, the bar, and the room service are really expensive compare to the prices in Bali. And the cocktails at the bar are really bad tasty, we tried the mojito but it was jute sparkling water with lemon. Do not try.
