This villa provided the perfect restful end to our stay in Bali and Tom the owner was really helpful with all the information he gave us with regard to the booking, nothing was too much trouble. It is beautiful and the service is very good but also very discreet. The location is quiet and a lot less touristy than other places we have been in Bali, I would have liked to stay here longer. If you want to go out on day trips it is easy to book a car and there are several interesting places to visit nearby. For food you can go into Candidasa by car or stay in the villa, the food is good and reasonable, or you can walk to Mendira beach where there is a nice simple restaurant to eat or have a couple of drinks. The snorkelling was not not good when we were there, but the sea was quite rough which may not be normal.

“Beautiful Views”

We booked our 11 day stay based upon the reviews we read, I must say we were a bit disappointed.

Let's start with all the Positives:

The villa itself has a nice open layout, there is one master bedroom upstairs above the main house and 2 bedrooms in self contained smaller structures that include baths. The views from anywhere in the villa at anytime of the day are night are beautiful.

The pool is very nice and there is a Jacuzzi as part of the pool though it is not heated.

The food provided at the Villa is very good, we ate in many evenings and enjoyed every meal. The choices however are limited and we ran out of variety pretty quickly. The suckling pig was highly recommended and we tried it one evening. It was not to our taste and at more than $100 USD for 6 people I would not recommend it.

The staff takes good care of cleaning and serving. Outside laundry service is available and is very reasonably priced.

The negatives:

All the food and beverage are charged per serving which was an unusual policy for us. What was really surprising was every item came with an additional tax and service charge. We had the seafood grill one night and were charged a per person charge for the grilling. In other vacation rentals we would discuss a menu and simply gave the staff money and they would buy supplies for us both food and beverage.

If you stay for a longer period of time you quickly run out of things to do close by. There is literally no shopping in Candidasa. You'll need to travel by car at least 1 1/2 hours to shop. I can say that there are many good restaurants in Candidasa though they all close fairly early. This is not an area with night life if that's what you're looking for.

The last negative is the access to the sea. The website for the villa says "as the beach slopes gently into sheltered lagoon". That's not exactly the case. Please see the pictures I've posted of the access to the sea.

“I never want to leave....”

If this is how the "other half" live then count me in! From the minute we entered the villa we were amazed at the setting and the scenery.... Honestly the pictures on the website don't do it justice. The open plan living and dining area, with sunken kitchen overlooks the beautiful pool, sun lounge cabana, pool bar and spa and the beautiful coast. The villa is very private. We stayed with our two children aged 8 and 9. They each had their own room and bathroom. Upstairs is the main bedroom with an outlook over the ocean. You can sit in bed and watch the fishing boats go by... Or even better in the large deep bath that overlooks the ocean. The decor is divine.

The service is amazing. I haven't cooked a meal, cleaned a dish or anything since I arrived. The staff are so lovely. The food is very nice Indonesian food, though western food is available in request. We have been able to accommodate our children's fussy eating habits without a problem.

There is an iPod dock, cable tv with many channels, we plugged our iPad into the tv to watch movies but you need to bring the av cord with you! The fridge is stocked with beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks. I would advise if you are arriving late afternoon to preorder your dinner as the kitchen requires two hours notice for main meals. You are able to order the menu via email, just ask. I would also recommend preordering snacks ie crackers, chips etc if you want these on your arrival. There is a local town 3km away that stocks these but if you arrive late it's easier to prearrange it.

The bedrooms are air-conditioned and very comfortable. The staff provide free babysitting if you wish to go out to dinner in town. They will also arrange tours and transport for you. We have also had daily massages at the villa.... At $10 AUS for an hour it is hard to pass up!

The snorkeling is great just off the villa. Snorkeling gear is available in the villa or can be hired for 35000RP per day, or bring it with you.

Laundry service is available with no fuss and cheaply. Transport to the local day spas and restaurant can be arranged without any fuss.

If you want a holiday escape that is relaxing, affordable, private and away from the kuta crowds then this is your ideal destination.

Enjoy your stay... I will be back!
