Just got back from 2 weeks at the Heritage Village Club. Had a fantastic time! Arrived at around 9,30 in the morning after a 25 min transfer from the airport. Watch out for the porters who will literally grab your cases off you to walk 100 yrds, then want paying for it!!! Lovely welcome at the hotel and a cool drink. Check in was a slow process but we enjoyed the time to relax and look around while we waited.....we think our room wasn't ready in time due a previous flight being delayed and guests staying an extra night. After a while we were taken to a different room that was ready. Rooms were really nice, with air conditioning and a fan, which was definitely needed! We were in room 321, which was near the end, and very noisy at night as opposite the stage..... This didn't bother us, but for someone wanting a quieter stay, maybe rooms overlooking the garden would be better. Rooms were kept clean everyday. Our only comment was that the towels were taken to be washed in the morning, and we didn't get them back until much later in the day....so sometimes we would have wanted a shower after swimming or going to the beach etc, but not a big problem. Food here was plentiful and very nice, and the inclusive drinks were good as well, with a good range of cocktails available. We did suffer a bit with bad stomachs which we expected with a change in diet and the heat etc. The gala evenings were good with food served outside, and the afternoon snacks are a welcome break from the curries! Also Mango Terrace is worth visiting (and included) as a break from the buffet restaurant. Very attentive staff, and good entertainment, We do agree that the music round the pool needs to be changed more, and the evening entertainment (not the dancers ect) was very dated!! The animation staff did well with the day time activities and plenty of people joined in with the pool games......they tried hard in the evening to get people on the dancefloor!! The beach was a short walk away and a nice welcome breezy relief from the heat of the pool. The Starfish Beachshack is good as well....cheap beer! The only downside for us was a couple of people from there kept trying to sell us t-shirts, trinkets etc. They targeted us a couple of times as soon as we walked on the beach and made us think their 'friendliness' had an auteria motive, so we only visited once. Shame really. Bikes are available to use for free and well worth trying out if your brave enough to go on the roads!!! Take a ride into Cansaulim first (10 min ride), and experience a real Goan village. All staff at the Heritage went above and beyond in their service, and were friendly and polite at all times. They can't be faulted at all! All in all we enjoyed out time there very much, and Goa is a wonderful place to visit. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel....in fact we already have!!!
