We have recently returned from a two week stay at this wonderful hotel. No one could ever complain about the staff as they were always polite, very helpful, always concerned that there were not any problems and attentitive. Just one little niggle we did not like the group who took their beer bottles into the pool especially when the children were in there, or leaving their bottles on the side. We felt sorry for the staff. Very bad manners in a 5 star hotel from those guests. If anyone wants a very relaxing holiday I would thoroughly recommend this hotel as the pools are wonderful, the grounds beautiful, the staff work so hard to keep it looking good, the beach is fabulous and really long so you can have fantastic walks by the sea.I would just like to say well done to all the staff,Including the gardeners and the ladies who swept the leaves in the blistering heat who always had time to say good morning. If

Room Tip: I liked the first floor as you could lay on the bed on the balcony and have complete privacy.

We went to this property in February, 2013. We stayed in Mumbai for two days after travelling from the USA and then took a domestic flight to Goa. There may be easier ways to reach Goa but it is a small domestic airport.

We were met at the airport by hotel staff who took care of bags and after a short 15 minute drive, we arrived at the property. We were greeted by reception staff and the assistant manager who apologized that the room was not ready due to a very large wedding and the guests had all recently departed. After registration details, fresh coconut water and cool towels, we were taken to the Village Square restaurant for a complimentary lunch while we waited for our room to be readied.

We had a suite reserved and the accommodations were excellent. There were many fine pieces of antique furniture throughout – all very well maintained. The furniture was very functional also – not just pretty to look at. The suite overlooked a natural lagoon on two sides and had a wraparound porch that had nice chairs and tables to allow some outside relaxation.

The rooms are arranged in smaller separate houses so you feel like there are villages with rooms and not just a high rise hotel. All of the houses had two stories and all seemed to have excellent views of either the lagoon or the Indian Ocean or both.

In the bathroom, we had a sunken tub with bath salts and rose petals offered for a nice bath. It also had a dual shower with overhead rain shower and handheld option.

The restaurants are also together in a village square format. You can choose from the Village Square restaurant or Italian, Indian or Goan restaurants. They offer you the choice of choosing from any menu so you can have an appetizer from one restaurant and an entrée from another. If it is not monsoon season, everyone can eat outdoors with a view to the sea.

Each night, they offer entertainment with your dinner. We experienced a sitar player, several singers covering popular songs, traditional Indian and Goan dancers, etc.

The property also has a beachside restaurant (The Palms) which offers fresh seafood. This restaurant is at the beach so the views are outstanding – particularly for dinner or for having a pre-sunset cocktail.

The hotel offers a buffet breakfast each morning with a wide variety of Western and Indian options. The Indian options changed every day unlike the Western choices. There were fresh pastries and fruit available that changed daily.

The hotel has the largest swimming pool in India. It is on multiple levels and has several water slides allowing you to traverse the various levels. There are plenty of lounge chairs available but you need to work with the pool staff so that your chair is reserved. The hotel discourages you from putting your personal things on a chair and leaving for long periods of time. However, they are happy to keep an eye on your things if you need to leave for lunch or a late breakfast. There is a pool restaurant in addition to the other restaurants mentioned previously. The restaurant has a nice selection for poolside dining. You can also order anything from the poolside restaurant and have it delivered poolside or on the beach.

The hotel has a terrific beach experience also with a large expansive beach. Chairs with umbrellas are available right on the beach. The hotel staff hands out flags to guests so that you need only wave your flag to get attention and a cool drink.

Like much of India, the hotel experiences a monsoon season which generally should be avoided if you want an outdoor experience. The Palms restaurant is closed for this period as is outdoor dining. The hotel still does a good business with meetings and conventions during this period but visitors from abroad should generally avoid this time period.

Food prices are not inexpensive but you are staying at a Park Hyatt so that is to be expected. They are not unreasonable. Drink prices – particularly for alcohol seem to be higher than necessary. Goa is supposedly a tax free location for alcohol. You can go many places off property and get a beer at significantly less prices. A glass of wine is somewhere between $500 and $800 INR (before tax) or between $12 and $17 USD after hotel taxes. I realize the hotel needs to make a profit but they should be more generous with the cost of drinks. A diet coke, by comparison, is closer to $4USD.

The guest experience is excellent throughout your stay. The hostess recognized us by name each morning and the staff knew our traditional requests for breakfast. You are frequently asked by all staff members if there is anything they can do for you to make your stay more enjoyable. The staff was excellent and they enjoyed your comments and took them very seriously. Housekeeping was terrific and serviced your room twice daily. If there was anything you wanted – they would find it.

This is the first Park Hyatt we’ve been to that is not in a major city. We enjoyed the experience a lot and will definitely return.

We stayed at Park Hyatt Goa to celebrate our 25th anniversary (March 7th thru March 10th, 2013)

The property is located on Cansaulim beach in South Goa. It is around 10 years old, but very well maintained. The sparling layout is a mixture of low rise (two stories) room clusters, amongst a beautiful setting of waterways, bridges, walkways and greenery. It has direct access to the beach with a lot of rooms having the beach view. We stayed in a sea-facing room (245) that was perfect with a sunken bath and an outdoor shower area.

Although we made our reservation online, I communicated with the hotel via emails. Abhineet Chandra, Assistant Manager Front Desk, was willing to entertain all my requests to make our stay special. He arranged for a beautiful flower bouquet and nice chocolate cake (my wife loves chocolate) in our room. This clearly was a pleasant surprise for my wife.

From day one, what amazed us was the deep service culture that each and every member of the staff displayed. On the 1st evening Ryan was nice enough to play host for us. He took care of all our wishes and requests.

Every day, after breakfast, when we parked ourselves next to the swimming pool, the staff member on duty was observant to help us with the pool chairs, towels and umbrella positioning. This was always done without us calling for their service.

During breakfast, Amit Kumar, Assistant Director, F&B was always there to make sure we were pampered. His service attitude and eye for detail, made every morning, very special.

Our anniversary evening dinner was planned perfectly by both Abhineet and Amit. They made sure we had a special secluded sitting area, away from the larger crowd. The chef and the assistant chef were personally involved in preparing the food to suit our pallet. The chef even gave my wife a unique anniversary gift. The hotel provided us with a special cocktail, appetizers and a beautiful cake, all complimentary. Gourang, who served us, was humble, communicative and engaging. We enjoyed both his and Amit’s company.

I would also like to mention the names of two other staff members, Denzel and Shelly, who made our stay enjoyable.

Park Hyatt truly made our 25th anniversary enjoyable, memorable, and special. We left Goa feeling pampered and privileged.

The rooms were lovely with a balcony looking out to the water.

Bathroom was large and comfortable.

Good spread at breakfast. The restaurant was good but a tad expensive.

Loved the pool and the easy walk to a pristine beach. We had dinner at Venus Beach Shack. Beautiful fresh fish that cost nothing while the drinks were reasonably priced. There were fireworks on the beach which just added to the festivities.

We patronised Park Hyatt several times, it is still one of the best hotel in South. However our last experience was different, not as good as the last ones.. The hotel was crowed with huge group of same east europe nationality, occupying probably 60% of the hotel.
Service at breakfast was panick, i remember few years ago the tranquille cosy terrace, good service, now diseapperad due to these huge groups.
Equally the transat on the beach were stuck altogether, no privacy, whereas the transat of the shawk nearvy were more scattered with more intimity
Rooms are still very nice.
I feel the large group policy reservation shall be reviewed to privilege couples, families which give this distinctive charm to patk Hyatt. We are not at club med.

It was an absolute pleasure to find one of the very best hotels filled with the creative spirit of south India – fabulous location next to the beautiful spotlessly clean Arossim Beach with fantastic rooms, exquisite bathrooms and eclectic dining – everything one could wish for an inspirational stay.

Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff indeed but welcome absence of servility. Impeccable service really!

Excellent choice of food at a good price - as anywhere in the world you get what you pay for. Beach shacks outside the hotel provided food for a third of the price but did not keep western standards when it came to hygiene nor food preparation.

Park Hyatt also provided a flawless complementary pickup at the airport which was most appreciated when arriving at 3 o´clock in the morning.

All staff members went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Every request was attended to instantly.

We couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

Room Tip: Opt for a sea view room to fully take advantage of sunsets on your private balcony. Rooms located in...
