“Can it get worse than this?”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

Lets forget the fact that the managers have some sort of a bloated ego. Lets even forget that they don't realize how to conduct themselves professionally. But you really can't forgive the fact that in the middle of the night (when you are just starting to enjoy your friendly Mafia games) you are forced to go out in search of an alternate room and on top of that you are labeled as Cheats!

Seriously, blaming your customers for your own incompetence, the worst ever possible customer service and a disgustingly rude Manager. I'm surprised Coco Goa manages to get any business at all. But then everyone learns from their mistakes. I'd suggest you learn from ours.

I would be lying if I said the rooms were bad. The only good thing about the place. HOWEVER - The AC and one geyser did not work for the day we were there and neither was it fixed. So much for service.

I'd recommend people to come to this place only if you are doing an experiment in market research on the bottom pentile of customer service or a psychology experiment in "how to behave as rude as possible with your customers".

In my research, I read that the largest prison in Goa is situated beneath Fort Aguada... Well that's Incorrect! it's....COCO GOA.
Where the manager Mr.Pradeep was the "HOST" and we were his... "HOSTAGES"(not guests.)
We were a bunch of 6 people who unaware of the dire consequences; decided to embark upon this enthralling journey with Coco Goa for 3 nights.
Serving our term we were punished in various ways...
1.Constant water cuts- (I am not exaggerating...Once, I actually had soap on my face when the water supply was taken away.)

2. One of the AC's went off in the middle of the night.(And all of us thought that... we might not be able to escape the attempted "Execution".Thank God we saw the next morning Sun.)

3. The dingy rooms and staircase did not help our cause either...(It actually made the place look like a prison.)

4.A man was specially appointed to count us- whenever we went out or came back ...(We only missed our striped-numbered prison uniform;but we didn't bother as for that too we only would have been made to pay.)

5. Our requests were responded in threats...(For the last night, our 2 friends were joining and 2 of us were leaving; keeping the no.of persons to be the same at 6.But Mr.Pradeep- the genius he is, for reasons best known to him wanted the same faces with the same DNA for all the 3 nights... And that day we witnessed the ultimate display of hospitality- we were asked to leave the place and in the middle of our trip; with the Christmas season catching on leaving fewer and fewer options for a 6 ppl group, we had to hunt for a new place.)

Truly! Coca Goa was an unforgettable experience.

Short review: Will not recommend to anybody. We had to eventually check out 1 day earlier than planned.

Longer version:
I organize large scale events for my firm involving more than 150 people at a time from multiple locations and I understand the intricacies of the hospitality industry. I am flexible to give a certain bit of leeway before judging but three parameters are non-negotiable for me. Unfortunately, Coco Goa fared miserably in 2 of the 3.

a) Courtesy: I expect people to at least be courteous enough to not shout at the phone when I am talking perfectly calmly. To put this in context, we booked a 2BHK for 6 people. Two more friends made a last minute plan and wanted to join us. A great deal of back and forth ensued, with options like putting additional mattresses or giving a separate 1 BHK just for the night. The manager eventually refused them entry completely saying "you confused me by giving a low rate, I shall not accommodate your friends". Given the person that I am, I laughed my heart out. How can a customer cheat you mate. Seriously! You gave a quote on email and I paid in advance for 3 days. How can I cheat you?

b) Upkeep: The rooms are clean and well kept but we had 2 big issues. One of the ACs and one of the Geyser's were faulty. Such things are usually manageable with a swift response but we called 3 times for a technician and nothing happened. Even after a guy came, the geyser refused to work. With only 2 bathrooms, this was a major issue.

c) Location: It's quite ideally located in Arpora, almost equidistant from Baga and Candolim. You need bikes to travel but in Goa, this is hardly an issue.

We were a group of 6 friends and decided to stay there from 15-18 Dec 2011 and had the worst experience ever. Highlights -

Rooms: -
Pretty decent - comfortable. Our AC wasn't working and wasnt fixed for entire day. And there are some clauses where they will clean the room only once in 2 days (even they weren't clear)

Location -
Near to baga but the place's surrounding stink very badly - the moisture smell in hallway is killing

Staff & Management -
Extremely money minded and unprofessional. They only wanted payment in cash (no credit cards or debit card); and even after advanced booking they didn't send us a confirmation mail of what all things were covered in the package (and thus used this ambiguity to their advantage)

The worst :
Their Manager - Pradeep clearly does not now what is hospitality is about. He offered us a Rs.5000/day package (~100$) for 6 ppl and then when we checked in, he blamed us that we duped him to give that offer! (how is that possible).
To top it, on the second day when we asked that 2 more friends were planning to join us for 1 day(2nd night) - he asked us to make their payment for 2 days (even if they stayed 1 night) or make them stay for 1 night and we all (2 + 6ppl) check out after 2nd day. When we asked for the 2nd option, he got spiteful and asked us to leave the next day and didn't allow us to even have our friends stay over. Eventually we checked out the next day and shifted to an awesome villa for 8 ppl nearby.

In a nutshell - if you want an adventurous trip, filled with uncertainties as to where you will stay each day and how will you find accommodation in the middle of the trip - Do try Coco goa!

I for sure do not recommend anyone, there are a 100 more places nearby with much better staff and service.

Co Co Goa! An amazing place to stay, with 5 star amenities at reasonable rates. The rooms are just as you see them on the website. Its easy to communicate with the staff and the service provided too is excellent. The place is a 10minute drive from Baga Beach and if you wish to stroll, it will take you 40 mins to reach there (not advisable to walk down to the beach with children). Co CO Goa is an apartment stay with basic necessities provided- toaster, micro-wave, tea maker, sugar, coffee & milk pouches and also tea bags. They also provided you with crockery to be used in the micro-wave. The place is a 10 to 15 min walk from Arpora bus stop and be sure to have a pleasant and unforgettable stay here. While you stay here do visit Honey's a restaurant just 5-10 mins away from here, you'll surely enjoy the food and service at Honey's. Love the place and shall surely go back here next time in Goa.

We were 3 couples who stayed here. Excellent place to stay!! Really beautiful and neat rooms with all modern amenities as seen or explained in their website. It is 10 mins drive from Baga beach and is located far from the noises that one could experience staying close to a beach. Most of the beaches are very easily accessible from here. Great staff and excellent room service who take care most of your needs. When here do check out the "Honey Restaraunt" about 5-10 mins walk from this place, the food there is better than Britos!! Overall a 5 star experience in a very affordable stay.

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms were better we thought.

we (a group of 4) visited Goa during the 1st week of November. This Service Apartment is located in Arpora and not everyone is aware of this place. Its close to Baga and Calangute Beach which are undoubtedly the most happening places in Goa. Right from our entry until our departure, we enjoyed every moment here. we stayed in a single bedroom apartment (1 Bed room, A big hall, bath and a separate kitchen)on the 3rd floor.. There was absolutely nothing to blame. Neat and cozy rooms, working minibar, a kitchen with Microwave and basic amenities, Both the AC in good condition, 2 big TV's.
The place is exactly the same way you see in the pictures.
Awesome people, great amenities and worth the money spent.

Room Tip: There is no elevator and you need to take the stairs. So if you find taking stairs difficult, book th...
