We had a lovely time at Majeka house. Everything was out of this world. But the breakfast was a real winner. Amazing choices and everything very fresh. I'll hugely recommend staying here for a weekend.

And if you're a foodie, it will be a real treat!

If you are going to Stellenbosch and need somewhere to stay this has got to be it.
Everything is excellent, the staff are brilliant friendly helpful and service is excellent. The rooms are great, spacious and comfortable and like all the other facilities justify the 5 Star rating.
Just when you think it cant get any better, you go into dinner and the food is absolutely divine. In 45 years of traveling the world I can honestly say the meal that I had the first night is one of the best meals I have ever had, and accompanied by a fabulous glass of wine the wine list is exceptional. It was so good that I went back the next night and it was just as good. The fact that the meal is served by happy, friendly, helpful people only adds to the experience.
I will be back.

We stayed at Majeka House for 1 night while exploring the Winelands and also treated ourselves to a Majeka Spa treatments in the morning and Makaron Restaurant for dinner. We were so surprised by the beauty and tranquillity of Majeka House. The staff are so friendly and efficient. We were lucky to arrive on a fantastic sunny day, and after our spa treatments, our tapa lunch and a cold glass of wine was thoroughly enjoyed in the warm garden area.
Majeka House's convenient location made our winelands exploration a pleasure.

The room was fantastic and the quality of all the amenities was such a treat. The bed was so comfortable - best sleep ever.

Dinner at Makaron was a real "Masterchef" treat and we thoroughly enjoyed the food as well as the informative and friendly service from the staff.

Breakfast was a feast, and when it was time to leave it felt like saying goodbye to extended family and friends.
The staff made us feel so special and Majeka House now feels like Home-away-from-home.
Thank you to all for a great experience.
We will most certainly be back and will recommend Majeka House to all.

If you intend visiting the Cape winelands, and in particular the region of Stellenbosch, there is simply no better place to stay than Majeka House. This is a very beautiful 5 star luxury boutique hotel - be assured of peace, calm, excellent service, luxurious decor and furnishings, and an OUTSTADING restaurant. All the rooms are fully fitted / equipped with everything you dream, there are 3 pools (one very large heated indoor and outdoor pool), jacuzzi, sauna, awesome bar, and lovely friendly owners Lloyd & Karine and their team to look after you!

Room Tip: Priemier Rooms are great value, but the Mountain View Rooms and pool rooms are a great indulgence!

We stayed at Majeka House at the end of our wonderful safari trip in South Africa. We were able to visit several wine farms and to enjoy Stellenbosch. Our stay at Majeka House was fantastic. Even though they were just going to begin a reno of many of the rooms, our stay was not disturbed in the least by that. Our room was lovely - large with a fireplace and humungous bath. The entire place was quiet and peaceful - restful. The breakfast served in the dining room was outstanding and we also had 2 dinners there. The first was in the dining room - a proper dinner - and it was outstanding. The second was a "small plates" eaten in the bar area. That, too, was delicious. We asked to speak to the chef - and out came Kim (the chef in charge but also the sous chef). She was lovely and an outstanding chef. We would go back there in a heartbeat!

Dear Miami Knitter,
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. This is such an important management tool for us.
Having visited Florida I would imagine our winters are not always the warmest.
You mentioned the start of the renovations.
I must tell you that the stone floors have been replaced with wooden ones which has made our rooms very cozy for winter.
We look forward to welcoming you back in that "heartbeat"

Stayed here for two nights while exploring the winelands. My stay was outside season, hence rooms and common areas were on the cold side.

The place it self is lovely, food was great - outstanding breakfast, and impressive dinner as well. The wine list includes som South African treasures definitely worth seeking out. large rooms, lovely pool area and a cosy library bar adds to the charm.

24 hours of bliss..... What a beautiful and tranquil place. The staff were charming, our room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The shower had great pressure and the bath was vast!
Our treatments were all very professional and deeply relaxing.
This was all topped off with an absolutely scrumptious breakfast.... A large table laden with a vast array of delicious homemade produce .....
What a treat!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Owner-managed and blissfully private, Majeka House is an ideal base from which to explore the historical town of Stellenbosch with its interesting shops, galleries, museums, and alfresco café culture. Numerous famous vineyards and award-winning restaurants, dotted along the Stellenbosch wine route, are within striking distance. This prime location combines with luxurious accommodation, thoughtful service, a sophisticated bar and restaurant, a professionally run spa and spacious grounds to create what is undoubtedly one of the most stylish boltholes in the Cape Winelands. After extensive renovations and a designer makeover in 2011, Majeka House now boasts 22 rooms and sophisticated yet witty interiors. There are two new luxury mountain suites above the main hotel with large mountain-view balconies, and three new junior garden suites overlooking a shared, exclusive-use pool area. And, while the entire hotel is ‘parent friendly’, there’s also a fully self- contained villa – set apart from the main hotel and with a large private pool and garden – that is designed specifically with families in mind. The new suites were all conceptualised and decorated by interior design wunderkind Etienne Hanekom, who is also responsible for the award-winning interiors of Makaron Restaurant, the lobby and bar. They capture a sense of drama with boldcolours, rich textures and eye-catching custom-designed wallpapers but are also comfortable, inviting spaces for complete rest and relaxation. All contain thoughtful extras, such as comfy Crocs instead of hotel slippers, a Lavazza espresso machine, Wi-Fi internet and a DVD player with a wide choice of movies. The spacious and cleverly designed en suite bathrooms are fragrant with local toiletries made with indigenous plant extracts. In Makaron Restaurant, a stylish, contemporary interior using a clever mix of repurposed and recycled furniture complemented by modern statement pieces has been created. The result is a visually stimulating space that offers extreme comfort and encourages complete immersion in the dining experience. The overall effect is an understated feeling of luxury.Airy and light, the restaurant overlooks lush gardens and leads onto a sheltered terrace for alfresco dining. It is in this stimulating setting that resident chef Tanja Kruger presents her menu of fresh, modern cuisine grounded in the French classics. ... more   less
