Have stayed at Roosenwijn twice. The location is great. Very central, close to shops, major attractions and restaurants. The breakfasts are great, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone wishing to stay in Stellenbosch.

I stayed in this guest house the 3rd time already. The 3rd time I was there with a group of 10 people. We were all taking so much care for from the guesthouse crew, it was just amazing. The place gets nicer and nicer with every time I stay there and I really cannot imagine a more friendly place to be in Stellenbosch. It starts with a fabulous breakfast after the night was spent in lovely room. It's just 5 minutes walk to Stellenbosch downtown with all the nice restaurant. If I go back to Stellenbosch, for me this is absolutely the place to be again.

The B&B was absolutely beautiful. The room was fantastic, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast a real treat! Great omelettes :) Very central. Very accommodating with our bikes! Wish our stay could have been longer!

The Roosenwijn is a very cosy small guesthouse with nice and calm atmosphere, small little courtyard and really nice rooms. Only, the retro style is a bit overemphasized leading e.g. to the problem that the water taps are nicely designed, but too short to bring the water into the wash bowl. Also the breakfast is a bit sparse. But the rest is quite o.k.

Room Tip: try to get a room at the inner part of the hotel or at its backside; the rooms looking at the Van Ri...

The place is located a few minutes walk away from a variety of nice shops and restaurants, in a quiet neighbourhood.

The bathroom was large with a choice of a bath or a shower in a Victorian style.

There are complimentary tea & coffee making facilities in the room and also shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in the bathroom.

Breakfast was included and a very large spread of cereals, fruit, pastries and jam and cooked bacon and eggs if you liked.

The guy working behind the reception was very helpful when I enquired about a restaurant
recommend by friends to us. They have sheet maps of the town that you can take with you which is useful.

Rooms have a TV with DSTV.

There is secure parking.

The room was a little small but as I stayed here with my boyfriend only for one night it was perfect for our purposed. (We came to Stellenbosch for a Cheese & Wine festival at Sandringham farm about 20mins drive away from here.)

We have been at the Roosenwijn Guesthouse in 2010 and 2011 and are currently planning a third trip. Both times the service was great and the staff was very helpful. We love that the house is built in a Victorian Style and has a lot of charm and originality. We have been to 3 other Guesthoses in the area but the Roosenwijn is still our favourite! As it is in the center of Stellenbosch everything is really close and we enjoyed walking to the Restaurants in the evening. Looking forward to our next stay there!

Admittedly, maybe heaven on earth is not necessarily manifested as a hotel. But if it is, this one is coming quite close to it. The guest house radiates a welcoming atmosphere. The managers have managed to carefully and tastefully preserve the distinctly colonial charme of the place, without transforming the place into a caricature. I was here more than a year ago, and now - staying in the guest house on the opposite side of the same street - I still dream of this beautiful and charming guest house. If you are in town, this is highly recommended.
