We went to Terroir for dinner and it was a first time for me and two friends. We were able to find a table without a reservation on a rather busy Saturday eveining, which was a great relief. The ambiance is good and I think to enjoy sundowners on the terrace in the day time or before sunset, would emphasize the beauty of the setting in the De Zalze estate.
The menu was somewhat confusing- a winter special at set price , but only some of the itiems on the menu qualified for the special, which was unfortunate.
I chose the kingklip main course at a whopping R185 - it was well presented, but no sides and the fish was rather bland and I'm not sure that it was thoroughly cooked.
We wanted to order dessert, but was told that dessert was not available, until much later in the evening. It was a blow, to say the least. We chose to settle the bill and left, as one of the members in our party, was suffering of back ache and could not sit much longer.
I am still curious to know what the dessert would be like.
