This was the 1st wine farm we visited on our holiday.

We had a nice lunch with friendly staff at the little restaurant, sitting outside in the shade and enjoying some of the farm's wine. The gardens and Cape-Dutch buildings were nicely maintained and along with the wonderful views gave a lovely ambiance.

After lunch we did some wine tasting. The wine was nice, but average to our expectations. I would recommend their white wine over the red.

In all, a lovely farm worth the visit.

We got married at Morgenhof on the 20th of March. It's a stunning venue with beautiful scenery and mountains - one of my favourite in Stellenbosch. Naomi was very helpful and provided us with answers to all our questions. I felt she had everything under her control, which was reassuring. (I feel I need to mention that Nadia was also very helpful, but left Morgenhof just before our wedding date). Our day was perfect, everything went according to plan, however the food was very disappointing to say the least. In fact, as the bridal couple we felt rather embarrassed to serve food like that to our guests. The starter was lovely, but the main course was well below average. We've eaten at Morgenhof on numerous occasions in the past, and the food has always been good so we were really positive about the menu. We chose the buffet menu with roast leg of lamb,Mediterranean veg, roast potatoes, line fish, salad and beans. The roast leg of lamb looked nothing like a roast - in fact it looked like some form of lamb chops, only not even as nice! It was tough, and tasteless. The roast potatoes ended up being boiled baby potatoes with parsley butter, the "Mediterranean veg" was simply mixed frozen veg, and the salad was crunchy with sand as the lettuce had not been rinsed properly. But the fish was good....or so say our guests! Only our close family and friends were honest enough with us about the food (while being apologetic about the negative feedback they were giving). I reported this feedback to Morgenhof in as nice a way as possible - I only hope they'll actually investigate as they said they would since it's a beautiful venue. Whether they actually do something remains to be seen. The only reason I would still recommend this venue is because it's in such a beautful location and the scenery is breath taking. I guess it depends what's important to you on your wedding day - if it were up to my husband he would vote against my rating and recommendation.

My daughter got married at Morgenhof Estate on 25 September 2009 and what a wonderful occasion!! We truly want to commend Nadia for the professional way she organized the whole day and this special event. She catered for every request, likes and dislikes, personal preferences and whatever the bride asked for. Nadia went out of her way to make this special day more special for every one! The wedding, the food, the Chef, the staff, every one were under Nadia's instruction, and they were more than competent!!
I can highly recommend anybody to make use of this facility for any event because they walk the extra mile to make you feel like the only important person who has their undivided attention whilst they are catering for you!!

My sister was married in Morgenhof on 14th Feb '09. The views and scenery are amazing. The chapel is so quiant and romantic. After the chapel service, a garden party was put on with umbrellas for shade, food and drinks. It was so relaxing after the service. Everyone just law about on the grass while the couple had their wedding pictures taken. The reception hall was beautiful and directly beside the chapel. The food was lovely, service was a bit slow at times, and slow to replenish the wine bottles on the table. They have no bar in the venue so a bar had to be hired in. Overall, the day was amazing and the venue wonderful!
