“A great experience!”
Reviewed February 7, 2014 via mobile

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Simonsig. Denzel, our very knowledgeable guide for the cellar tour, did really explain a lot about all aspects of winemaking and the history of the place. Very informative and relaxed.
The same for our winetasting. Each wine was properly introduced, and we could take our time tasting those beautiful wines. Lunch at Cuvee restaurant was a great end to our visit. Lovely people and service at Simonsig!

“Impersonal and commercial”
Reviewed January 28, 2014 via mobile

Our guide was left to introduce the wines (he did a great job) and it felt as we were just another number in a wholesale wine warehouse. It is a shame as the setting is nice and the wines are very good.

“Friendly wine tasting”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

We popped in after already tasting the Kaapse Vonkel (at a local restaurant) for wine tasting. Staff were very friendly, there is a small charge for wine tasting (R25 or 30 from memory) but for this you get to taste 5 wines and keep the glass.

Unlike some of the other wine tasting places, you do have to pay for crackers (to cleanse the palette, R3) and there is cheese available for sale to nibble on.

Having tasted the others, I still think the Kaapse Vonkel is best and very good value for money!
